Yes, I am indeed allergic to Virginia Beach but I’m fighting back. I moved here mid Sept., 2011 from Michigan and by mid November my skin started breaking out… ALLOVER. I started at Patients First and was diagnosed with Scabies. Well, that’s what dirty people get, right? I volunteer at a food bank on a regular basis so, sure, it could be true. I did the treatment and it didn’t go away. The next step was a dermatologist who concluded I was allergic to one of my few medications and I should change them to different drugs. Neither of these guys wanted to see anything other than my hands. I got creams, ointments, blood tests and skin cultures. Then I went to see Dr. Kimberly Salkey amed with copies of the previous tests results. She wanted to see everything so into a paper gown. She did a scraping to conclude it was not scabies, it was extreme eczema. My skin was reacting to the changed environment. I am nearing the end of the 14 day soak and slather régime she prescribed and it is ALL gone. Frankly, my skin is in better shape than it has been in years. Her office staff is extremely friendly and efficient too! My understanding is that there are two other dermatologists in the office, each with their own specialty. It was a bit of a drive for me but extremely well worth it.
