As a vegan in a completely meat-eating family, eating out very rarely works out in my favor. Well, eating out in general for me doesn’t really work out in my favor because there are no plant based eateries anywhere near where I live at all. But a free day on vacation meant hitting up all of the vegan restaurants in Virginia Beach, starting with Fruitive. I ordered the Avocado Portabella Panini and my mom got a Southwestern Wrap. So, so, good. The portions were great and while it was kind of pricey, you pay for what you get, and what you get is out of this world. I highly recommend making this a stop in your vacation plans. The smoothies are great too! Before we left we grabbed a Passion Berry and Coconut Colada. Both were very refreshing and delicious. This is a must for ANYONE and EVERYONE. (Added bonus: the restaurant is absolutely adorable. Super super cute!)

Nomssssssssss. I’ve only eaten here twice now but I’ve been pleased both times. The first time I got the Tuscan Kale Grilled Wrap. First, it’s HUGE. It’s packed with kale, quinoa, butternut squash, caramelized onions, broccoli, and chickpeas and has hummus and basil mayo inside a wheat wrap. YUM. If you have a sensitive stomach you will probably have gas… I know my husband was pretty upset with my selection. lol! On this most recent trip I went with the Cucumber Sandwich which is probably my new favorite thing I’ve ever eaten in my LIFE. OMG. It was so amazeballs. Like you need to eat it… now! It comes on fiber bread with Vegenaise, tons of avocado, a layer of cucumbers, tomatoes, and alfalfa sprouts. I was worried it wouldn’t keep me full through dinner since we had about 8 miles of hike ahead but it was large and thick with veggies(most of which were avocados) so it hit the spot and did it’s job. My friend got the avocado toast and a smoothie. I saw a few other things I want to try and I’ve always wanted to try one of the bowls… so I’m going to have to try to make it a point to come over here for lunch more often or bring some of my friends here…

Desperately searched for a place on trip advisor and Unilocal to grab some healthy, satisfying food. Fruitive came up in my search criteria every time with high marks. So glad we stopped in to check it out, the avocado on flax seed toast with a pesto aioli was to die for. The flavor blends were perfect. The Kalevolution juice(recommended to me by the person helping us) was outstanding and the collard wrap and Mediterranean wrap was a take out order for lunch that did not disappoint. If your into a clean meal, you’ll be ecstatic you found this place, if your more into Boardwalk foods like burgers and cheesesteaks, not that’s there’s anything wrong with that — but this may not be your kind of place. Two Thumbs up to the owners for having such an outstanding establishment from service, décor, quality and taste. Only down side is your in Virginia beach and I’m from Jersey, I only get to enjoy this location when I come down once a year. Love, love, loved this place!

I’m from San Diego and here temporarily and I can honestly say it’s the best smoothie bar I’ve ever been to! Nice staff, cute décor, amazing food and delicious smoothies!

Since I started working next door I’ve been avoiding this place because I knew it was pricey, but as a sometimes vegan always vegetarian I completely understand why. Unfortunately we don’t have many places like this, I wish we did because it would be a lot easier to source ingredients and perhaps lower prices a bit. But as someone who takes my grocery shopping and what I put into my body very seriously, know that you are getting what you pay for here. Yes it’s pricey, but it’s fresh, organic and legit. I finally tried it out today with the grilled southwest wrap and the new coffee date. I’ll keep it simple and agree with many others before me, it was delicious. Not only that I was surprised at the size of my wrap, I knew what I’d be paying and was expecting to feel a little jipped but it was actually huge and well worth it! The space is also so quaint and adorable and so is the staff! So glad I finally tried it but at the same time not because I know where my money will be going every day at lunch time!

The kalevolution is my go to, but you can’t really go wrong with any of the juices in the case. If you want a drinkable meal, I suggest the peaches and greens with maca powder. Delicious!

One of my favorite places to eat! The ingredients are fresh and organic. The juices are great, but they also have a variety of wraps, sandwiches and smoothies. I’m obsessed with the raw cheesecake and steamer soups.

Absolutely adore their smoothies! Much more expensive than other places, but well worth it. Wonderful ingredients, haven’t had one yet I didn’t love, even the«Peaches and Greens»!

My favorite! We’ve been coming since the day they opened and love the food, the staff and the green environment! Thank you Greg! The immunity juice is wonderful. I like grabbing a few juices for road trips! The chocolate-covered cherry smoothie is wicked good, and truly they all are. I’ve yet to try anything I doesn’t LOVE! Check out the breakfast bowls for a real treat!

I decided to try Fruitive because it had such great reviews but I left mostly disappointed. There was nothing really wrong with the place, but it didn’t wow me either. Especially for the price! My husband and I shared a smoothie which was about 10 bucks and it was only okay. I would have preferred a fresh pressed juice but I didn’t see any on their menu. The staff was nice enough and they had a military discount but I doubt I’ll be back. This place is probably amazing for vegans/vegetarians but for us regular joes, stick to jamba juice!

Tried plant-based food here for the first time with a vegan friend a few months ago and was floored by how delicious it was! The staff was super friendly and even puréed an avocado for my baby daughter to eat. I will definitely be returning.

The service was great and the food was delicious. My husband and I got the Southwestern wrap and Mediterranean wrap to share. We wanted to get a lemon mint drink, but couldn’t fathom paying $ 6.99 for a medium-sized bottled drink. Everything was enjoyable but I definitely felt the plant-based tax hitting real hard at this place.

If you want fresh, healthy food, this is the place to go. I had the protein power salad, which came with a carrot ginger dressing and was topped with the most delicious croutons. My salad cost nearly $ 10, but it was quite large and very tasty. They have a variety of salads and also have wraps. The restaurant itself is pretty small inside. Most of the tables seat just two. They also have a few larger tables out front. You order at the front at a register, and they call your name to pick up your food in the back when it’s ready. Staff was pretty friendly. Admittedly, I am not up to date on the going rates for fresh-pressed juices, but I was shocked to see that they cost $ 11 and up for one single-serving bottle.

WHYCAN’T ALLFOODBELIKETHIS??? Outstanding texture, taste, freshness, and perfectly balanced flavor. I just cannot speak highly enough about this food. I also love that it is so nutrient dense! When I cook for myself it is quite clear that your food can be whole-food plant-based nutrient-rich AND delicious, but it seems like nowhere I go to outside of my house understands that. THISPLACEDOES. And does so so much better than I do. Yum!!! My body felt energized and full and happy. It was a fantastic lunch. I just love that this place knows that plant-based food is actually MORE delicious than animal-based food(gross!) and makes a menu accordingly(instead of thinking that plant-based means leaving the meat out of a meat dish with no ingenuity). We got the collard wrap and the southwest romaine wrap and tied for first(with the collard wrap) were the AMAZING coconut macaroons. Wow. Just wow. So happy!

This is a great place. I enjoyed stopping here and grabbing some food for a 3 hr trip. Completely satisfying! Grabbed two wraps — Mediterranean wrap and Green Collard wrap. So yummy! I’m happy I got to try their food but sad because it’s 3 hrs from home! I read about food being pretty expensive. So, I emailed them and asked for their prices. I received an email as soon as they opened and they gave me the prices for every wrap they have.. That was so helpful! They are not as expensive as people are making them sound. Their food is organic, healthy, and so delicious! I would come here every other day if I could! I am getting what I’m paying for. You should definitely try this place you will not be disappointed! Also, I overheard one of the guys who worked there ask if they have the college wrap or they would have to make it fresh. I was surprised at this since they advertise fresh food, so I’m not sure if they have just a bunch of wraps laying around and then they just give it to you when you order it or they make it fresh most of the time. So I suggest you ask if they if it’s fresh of its one that’s going to be laying around for a bit.

I love the idea behind Fruitive. Fresh ingredients used to make delicious juices and dishes right in front of you. The first time I went I had the Pineapple Xpress. Pineapple-y, gingery, yummy! That paired with some slices of watermelon from Heritage Natural Market almost made my morning. Was I happy to pay $ 9 for it? Not really, but I know how using fresh fruit and juicing it can be. I also wasn’t too fond of all the foam. That’s just what happens when you use a high-speed juicer. It aerates the fruit and veggies too much and leaves behind a lot of good juice in the fiber. Hopefully they use it for compost? If the place didn’t stay so busy, I’d recommend a slow-juicer. Sometimes I just want to buy a bottle and be on my way. Whenever I walk by, there are barely any juices out. Like I said, I know they get busy, but it would just be nice to see something to grab and go, you know? It’s still an awesome place if you’re looking for some tasty plant-based cuisine. You don’t have to be a vegan to enjoy the flavours and the atmosphere. If you’re iffy about going, they have a website( ) and it’s super informative. Definitely worth a look.

I have been to many places like this in other cities. And my review should be solely on this place, and it will be. I have been here several times, and I still have mixed feelings on this place. The food is great, service is wonderful. But I feel that it is a bit over priced. Maybe it’s the location, maybe not a lot of competition so they are able to set higher prices. I’m not a health freak, but I really do enjoy having that option when I am out and about but I wished that they were a little cheaper. $ 11.05 after tax for a 16 oz. juicer? It’s good, more than likely I will continue to go back, but I will stick to my guns on the fact that it is a bit pricy.

Let’s keep this short and simple. Cool. Hip. West Coast-like. Friendly staff. Healthy. An overall solid spot, FTW. It’s in Hilltop although it has the look and feel of what you’d find in Ghent. A great addition to Virginia Beach. The ambiance is super cool. It has a library feel. It’s modern. You get an open feeling to the place but somehow you feel so peaceful and alone(in a good way) despite all the noise from the juicing. Kale chips. Hashtag, best ish ever. Those alone are worth the trip. Great experience.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while but only go to vb when I need groceries from whole foods. Thankfully my husband had a Friday off and we had to get some stuff around lunch time. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The décor is gorgeous and the food is incredible. My husband got the collard wrap, which was fantastic! He’s lucky I didn’t steal his! I got the hail to the kale salad which was also delicious. The kale was crisp and the pecans were sweet. I loved it. We also got a couple shots of wheatgrass, we were so excited to find a place that does wheatgrass shots! My only dislike is the apple the wheatgrass comes with but that’s only because I prefer a more crisp apple. It has nothing to do with the restaurant itself! Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this place! And the app they have is pretty neat. You can set up your credit card and set a tip and pay with your phone. You also get points for using it and $ 5 off your order the first time you use it! We will probably be back everytime we are in the vb area!
