Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story

Great beach and lighthouses, one you can climb up. Friendly staff once you get on base. Open to civilians and military, however if you do not have military ID, prepared to get searched w/​dogs and have your vehicle emptied out.

The base itself is more like a 3. It is older and run down in some areas. But, the beach and lighthouse make up for that! The housing on base is nice and some are right by the beach. You can stay in a cabin or camp at the Navy Getaways on base. Their is a nice chapel, dental/​medical clinic, Aafes Express minimart and gas station, gym, community center, childcare centers, barber shop, Historic Landmarks, Historic Cape Henry Lighthouse, library, post office, liberty center, dormitory barracks, dining hall, and more. The best part is the beach. This beach is in a great location on the point where the ocean meets the bay. This base is also right next to the First Landing State Park and Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
