Just got off the phone with Magazine Rewards plus. The sneaky jerkheads popped up a banner ad offering a $ 50 rebate after I ordered a water filter online. The trickery of scam companies like Magazine Rewards Plus is pretty astounding. So I had a little bit of time and listened to the lady who offered me the gift card, but not without strings attached. You give them $ 1.99 and then subscribe to FREE Magazines. Sound familiar? So i have already called and I let them process the magazine, but I am on red alert so I go ahead and ask the phone number and email address to cancel and set up a calendar to cancel Beware, be smart, if you want to get the $ 50 make sure that you don’t get screwed in the process. They will ask if you have an email address. The correct answer: NO. Remember you do not have an email address. You have gotta wait for 10 days to cancel, or you will not get the gift card. If they sweet talk you into that there is more. Try their identity theft protection service? What about a cruise to the Bahamas? Or you might like a $ 100 credit to Best Buy? The longer they can keep you on the line the more likely you will be to slip and then you are going to get into the abyss if telemarketing ponzi schemes. Like a whirlwind, your privacy, credit card, email and all of the things that you love in life will be gone, Poof. So be careful and tread lightly if you find yourself doing any business with Magazine Rewards plus.
