Ocean Breeze Water Park

This is our 2^nd year in a row for buying season passes. The kids love it and it makes me happy that they’re outdoors instead of on electronics. The staff is friendly and attentive. My son fell on the steps today and an employee immediately came to check on us. If you go on a weekend, it’s worth the extra money for the breeze pass to be able to jump to the front of the line. I’d suggest going in and checking it out first. They’ll let you go back and buy the wristband if you want. The only thing that I find disappointing is the food. For the price, it is bland and poor quality. Bring a picnic lunch and have someone at the gate stamp your hand when you go out to eat it. They offer locker rentals, but we’ve never used them and leave our bags unattended most of the time. They have a lot of fun events like concerts and dive-​in movies. It’s a great place for some family fun.

My family and I went there earlier this week. Overall the place seemed okay until my 3 year old daughter went to the pirate kids part of the park. The slide on the right boat was completely stripped of all paint and had cracks in the fiberglass which cut up my daughter’s hind end. I requested a supervisor and told them what happened she just said thanks for letting us know. No sorry or anything — my daughter now has about 5 cuts on her rear and all they say is thanks for letting us know. Chris

We had a pretty good time last weekend at Ocean Breeze. Not quite the same thrill as when I was younger — growing up in the 90s, we came here all the time — but they’ve done well keeping up the place. My son (2 years old) especially liked the lazy river.

Check groupon for discounts. The rides where fun for all ages. The food quality was not bad. Yes they do offer free sun block. But good luck finding it. You have to go to the gift shop and ask for the «FREE SUNBLOCK» otherwise they will try to sell you a new one.

Best lifeguards I have ever seen! Lots of fun with the family. There are aren’t many slides but it was really fun! My family spent a lot of time in the wave pool. Lots of long lines but great fun!

My family loved the water rides. Stayed 5 hours. Didn’t have to wait long to get on the slides. The cost was alittle pricey for just a waterpark. The longest wait was for food. Should have more shaded umbrellas. The lazy river should be more monitored; a lot of unsupervised kids floating without a raft. Great way to spend a day with the family.

Best place to go with the family! Get a season pass and get your money’s worth! My 2 year old loves the wave pool and the lazy river. I could seriously just lay in the wave pool all day! And I’m about to rent a cabana and come by myself and have a ME day! I suggest you reserve a cabana days before. The go quick!

Took the family here on a weekday. First instinct was that I was surprised to see a gravel parking lot. I thought Motor World and Ocean Breeze were big enough to warrant that much. We decided to walk to the park, which took a few minutes to do. After seeing the one golf cart shuttling people, I wasn’t impressed. It cost us a little over $ 80 for tickets with military discounts. The place was packed. We got a locker and we were able to fit our towels, shoes and belongings in there.
I think the highlights for me were the lazy river and sitting in the wave pool. Everything is encapsulated, so we were able to stay in the central area while our kids ran around together. My kids seemed to like the water slides and my daughter seemed to get a kick out of the pool that had a simulated log roll where you can try to knock people off the log. I guess I am getting old, because I was content to sit in the sun, bake, and watch people. My kids liked it here but they didn’t like the lines for the slides and what really impacted them were the number of rude people. Kids butting in line, getting hit with innertubes, kids butting in line to get innertubes, etc. I was surprised to hear it from them. However, they had a good day and we didn’t spend a fortune.
You also cant bring food into the park unless you have a dietary need. We have a gluten free diet, so my wife was able to bring in some trail mix and fruit. It was nice to not have to buy some garbage food there.

Went to ocean view for my grandsons birthday. He loved it and so did I. It was clean, staff members were very helpful. Free sun screen. Good food reasonable prices. It was an over all great experience … Going again next week. Love it its big enough to keep your little ones busy and small enough so u don’t lose them !! Lol. GREAT PLACE !!

I’m a local and season pass holder.
Cons: I usually take my kids on weekdays and get there when they open. They need to do a better job cleaning at night because we always find trash under the chairs when we get there.
The food is not the greatest and is over priced for what you get.
The bathrooms need serious updating. Too much standing water in them… gross.
Parking lots need to be paved. The dust is really bad.
We love the lazy river but it really needs an attendant that puts the floats back. Most customers are rude and just jump out and let their floats go. This clogs up the river and makes it difficult to get a float. At least put a sign up that tells patrons to return them.
Pros:
Lifeguards that really pay attention.

My kids have fun and always ask to come back.

Great place for family fun. Great for kids, great for everyone. Have things for adults as well. Outstanding slides, a wave pool. Great place to beat the heat and avoid the hassle of the Oceanfront. They have cabanas for rent, a separate kids area and lots of life guards. Lockers for rent and you can get stamped to go in and out. Next door to Motorworld so really can’t go wrong.

Fantastic water park! For the price, can’t be beat. They always have some sort of specials going on. Father’s Day, boys scouts, Girl Scouts, they have deal days that make it much more affordable. Just check out their Facebook or webpage. They have plenty of decently priced food through the park, so don’t worry about what you’ll eat. Cheeseburgers, pizza, subs, wraps, pulled pork; it’s quite the variety. If you are in the area and it’s hot, come over here. You’ll be glad you did!
If you are a local, then you need to get yourself a season pass and toss on the meal plan. We are loving the come and go as you please, getting a free, legitimate meal, every visit, and best of all, Friday night movies. Seriously, come to the park at 6pm after a long day, get a meal, and ride the rides until the movie is over, usually after 1000.
Here’s what has sold us. Yes it is a small water park compared to the big name parks like water country. But the staff and setup is top notch. Life guards are on top of their game! Seriously! They are always scanning the water, looking after each other, and neve once have we felt uncomfortable with any of the staff. Safety, fun, and a great deal. We have used the heck out of our season pass and meal plan and you can to. A couple hours a few days a week and you’ll realize how easy it is to swing by, cool off, eat, and head back home.

Good quality service. The cabanas are great. If you can, stop by motor world when you leave the park. A good end to a vacation for a day.

Fun family place that is inexpensive for the Summer. Go early so you can have yourself a lawn chair!

As a Floridian I live in the land of awesome amusement parks. Needless to say, my expectations were low as they are with everything in Virginia.
Ocean breeze exceeded my low expectations though not exceeding any of the major water parks in Florida.
CONS:
1. Pathetic excuse for useful signs and information relating to which tube to get for which like. Luckily I can read if I think really hard but clearly a lot of folks can’t as demonstrated by lifeguards constantly telling people they were in the wrong line.
2. Widen your lines that multiple slides merge into.
3. Why are there so many large life vests? Difficult t locate a small life vest (required for little people) white ample big ones sat untouched.
Good time overall.

Enjoyed this waterpark. Found the layout to be very compact… took a little bit to get the hang of which lines went to which slides and which tubes you have to have to go on which slides. The wave pool is great. Not one wave every five minutes but a constant sea of waves for a matter of minutes. Found the slides Vortex and Sea Serpent to be the best. It was busy but the lines moves fast, much faster in comparison to Wet N
wild in Greensboro. As with any park bring your wallet the food is pricey but I didnt think it was any worse than anywhere else, the corn dog was good as was the funnel cake and the lemonade was top notch. Overall I would go here again for sure.

This place is by far the best Waterpark in Virginia Beach! The staff is amazing and the park itself has a couple of fun rides. It’s a great way to spend some hours catching some sun and having fun during the summer. And definitely a shout out to the lifeguards they’re the best!

Always liked going and taking my children to Ocean Breeze, and when family would come in from out of town We would pay their way in. I bought season tickets two years ago and my complaint would have been the availability of tubes. I didn’t go last year or take anyone but decided to buy season tickets this year for 5 people. I was really dis-​appointed in the $ 8.00 fee for a locker and then the $ 5.00 deposit that you get back when you leave. $ 8.00 is steep considering how small they are. Then they offered souvenir cups, purple ones are $ 7.99 and the yellow ones are $ 9.99. 1^st off they tell you that you are better off buying the yellow one because the purple one melts and you don’t get your money back if it melts, but then you can pay an extra $ 2.99 for a new purple one! What? Are you kidding me??? What kind of racket are they running? When the purple one melts your drink is no longer good because of the chemicals that are released into the drink from the melting plastic.
The bridge is way too hot to walk across there should be some kind of sprinkler system over the bridge to keep your feet cooled to include waiting to go down a slides, waiting in line on the fake grass is very very HOT! I will never go back after this season and will not buy passes for my family nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

Don’t pay full price! There are coupons available every where!
Its what you expect as far as a water park, water slides, wave pool and lazy river.
Parking is insane and a ridiculous hike!
The food needs seriously help. Awful doesn’t even cover it. I’ve had better microwave pizza.
They need to have benches or storage blocks for people to use.
Everyone plops their stuff on a chair and there are never any chairs available for those who want to sit.

Lots of updates since we were here last a few years ago. Park is clean, staff is friendly. There are more inner tube slides, more food options, and a lazy river. I wish the lazy river went around the park, but I am just glad there finally is one! Food is pricey, so come prepared to spend. If you don’t want to spend, get a hand stamp and go out to eat, then come back. You cannot bring food into the park, but water bottles are acceptable. Season pass holders get a discount on food and at the gift shop
Bathroom needs a bit of updating. There were puddles all over the floor, which were most likely from wet bathing suits, but they could use some drains in the floor regardless. Ocean Breeze now has parking attendants and a shuttle back and forth since the lot is a bit of a hike. I just wish it was a paved parking lot.
Rides are fun & the lines move quickly. Best time to go is during the week. We avoid weekends b/​c of the crowds.
