Really bad! I stayed here previously when it was a Hampton Inn. It was great. Now it is under the Ramada flag, and not so much. I booked it through as I had an early morning flight and just needed to crash for a couple of hours. I saw the price($ 50 per night) and saw the bad reviews, but said to myself«how bad could it have gotten over the course of a couple of years? $ 50 is a deal» Answer… BAD. Really Bad like $ 50 was too much to pay bad. I walked in the first impression was an overpowering smell of deodorizer. Not a good sign. Then I find two clerks behind the counter watching a show on MTV with the volume cranked. Neither of them ever looked up or made eye contact with me. One texted the whole time while complaining about her man while the other kept complaining that she coudln’t make the computer work. Not their fault just zero training. As I looked up I saw the outline of lettering that was on the wall behind the check in area before that said«Hampton Inn Welcomes you to Norfolk.» They had pulled key letters off of the wall and it now read«Welcome to Norfolk» You could still see the outline of the old lettering… pretty funny, but mostly tacky. Management defintely asleep at the wheel here. When I got to the room I found no working light by the door, 6 items to plug in(light, television, microwave, refrigerator, non working alarm clock, and coffee maker), but only two outlets in the room, burn holes on the bedspread of a non smoking room, black stains on the white sheets(not kidding), see-thru bath towels, trash on the floor of the room and a towel rack that came off of the wall when I pulled a hand towel off of the rack. NICE…not. On a positive note… the wi-fi was free and actually worked! This one has god to be one of the worst in the country.

I reserved a room here through because we arrived in Norfolk very late at night and did not want to drive the hour or so to WIlliamsburg where we had a timeshare resort unit reserved. To begin with, we had a very difficult time finding this property. We just about gave up when I spotted two Norfolk PD cruisers parked in a small strip mall so I asked one of them for directions. When he realized where it was he suggested I follow him which was very kind of him. We arrived at the property and knew almost immediately this was not a family type motel. The lobby had several pretty unsavory looking individuals some of whom did not look like they were traveling. My wife came into the«lobby» to get some Chap Stick for our nephew who was traveling with us. Instead of finding Chap Stick she found a wall of colorful condoms some with explicit pictures and designs. I don’t know why, but I continued to proceed with check-in. The front desk employees were not American and were not very friendly or welcoming which was consistent with the apparent primary purpose of this disappointing place. When we finally completed checking in we proceeded to the room and knew almost immediately we would not be staying there. The ceiling had severe water damage, the bed linens were a dingy gray and when I pulled them back to inspect the mattress there was human hair. The shower had black mold and the room did NOT look clean. I returned to the front desk and asked for a full refund which I received. The clerk asked me if the room was clean. I told him it was«made up» but it was NOT clean and that my wife refused to stay there. We ended up finding an excellent property in Williamsburg and arrived there about 3 in the morning. That is the subject of another(good) review. Don’t waste your time even considering this place. I am going to notify Ramada that this location is not worthy of their name. Bad news. Oh and by the way, when we left, the officer who escorted us there was across the street finishing up a bust. We stopped briefly to tell him we weren’t staying here and he smiled, shook his head and said, «I didn’t want to say anything, but I was wondering what you were thinking!» This place also was not cheap. .. close to $ 90 with taxes and all. Our luxury room in Williamsburg was only $ 120.

This hotel service it’s terrible, it’s unbelievable their concept of cleaning the rooms. I’ve being here for 4 days and the house keeping service it’s a disaster. I went to the front desk to talk to who suppose to be in charge and his answer was«this is not a 4 stars hotel you know». I am living Saturday and I’m telling everyone I know. I would never recommend them. Bottom line generally spiking«the service it’s terrible». It’s a no no for my future trips to This City.

My room flooded because of the air conditioning unit. Told the front desk and they never came to fix it. You get what you pay for… good location but OLD building.
