There was so much hype on this place when it first opened up. I remember there was a line out the door on opening day and it was so crowded. Before this location opened, I had been to the one in Jersey and I remember them having really good empanadas. I’ve never eaten here, just had the mamon, ensaimada, mango and ube cake, the usual things people go here for. Be sure to eat the bread right away, because it molds, I’ve noticed. It’s pretty expensive. I really only go here for the cake, when someone visiting wants to go here, or when I’m trying to bring back the different breads or pastries to some people. My mom says the halo-halo is really good here, too.

I bought some banana bread. When I was about to eat it there are some white circle molds inside but it’s not even the expired date yet. :(How do store your bread? Do you need to put it in the fridge?

We bought this ube mamon and when I bit into the Mamon I noticed there was little spots of mold on it! Gross! Nasty!

This was my second time visiting again after my initial visit in 2013(haven’t had a chance to go back to VA Beach until this past summer). There seemed to have been a lot of different changes because I didn’t see the signs on the wall for their food menu anymore. I go here for their desserts anyways but they didn’t have the special for all the mamon anymore and only the original butter mamon. My favorites are the halo-halo, ube & mocha mamon, ube & mango cake, and the cheese ensymada!

I walked into the store and couldn’t receive any assistance. It was an odd experience, i was the only person in the store and there was an employee doing something on a table and she looked at me. I walked up to the counter and a guy behind the counter looked at me as well, I said«hi, can I ask a question» and I was told«hold on» and he never came back, the lady at the table continued to look at me, it was awkward and I left.

I even didn’t know it is Philippine bakery until I talked to people who work there. They do not have huge selection but everything they have are delicious! Also workers are very friendly and nice.

The pandesal and mamon are must haves. We bought several bags to go. We ordered palabok and empanadas. The palabok was flavorfull and a little lemon complimented the taste. We also liked the chicken empenada. I did not like the beef empanada. Overall a good dining experience.

I love Red Ribbon. I’m currently at their parking lot and was contemplating on writing this review. The cashiers upfront were great. Informed us that they are sorry for the wait and will get to us soon. They even tried to promote their deal with the Palabok platter. If only I had room in my hotel I would have done so. Anyways, the 3 star score is because of the gentleman with the tie. He called out my number and just pretty much dumped the food on the table. He didn’t say here you go sir, thank you, just no acknowledgement that he wanted to be there or serve me. If he is the manager or some sort of assistant gm, I know the cashiers didn’t learn customer service from him. Please promote one of the two that was working cashier around 5:45 — 6:15 pm on May 31st because I’m sure they’ll be a better example to your future employees.

Some people go to Virginia Beach for the sun and the surf… I go for the Filipino food. Even though my birthday was three weeks ago, I knew life would not be complete if I didn’t have an ube macapuno birthday cake(purple yam + coconut). My husband who is the best husband in the world made sure to make a pit stop on our very busy day trip here to make sure my birthday wish came true. We were pleased to see that they sold cake by the slice which meant we could split not only some ube cake but a mango cake as well. At $ 2 a slice, it was a steal! In Washington, DC, this would cost at least $ 6. While the cake is not baked on site, it was still fresh, fluffy, and not-too-sweet. Their other baked goods such as ensaymada or cheese mamon package very easily and are a great gift to bring home. If I had a cow’s stomach I would have also gotten their halo halo which is chock full of preserved fruits, leche flan and ube ice cream on top. Ube Overload indeed!

When I found out there was a Red Ribbon Bakery in Virginia Beach, I was excited because I have been craving some Halo-Halo and the weather was perfect for it. Finally tired it out on Sunday and the bakery was nearly empty on a Sunday, but I must have missed the crowd when I got there. I ordered the Mango Halo-Halo it wasn’t what I really expected, like it was missing something, but it did satisfy my craving. The service was… lackadaisical, for the lack of a better word. There was no greeting and no smile hence the 4 stars. I would go back again for Halo-Halo since it’s the closest to my house.

Great and friendly service! As for the food it’s worth coming back to more than once. We picked up a birthday cake from here the other day, the Mango Cake. Everyone loved it, it was a hit and anyone who had a piece asked where we got it and commented in how moist and soft and delicious it was, great job red ribbon! We’ll be back, no doubt!

Wether you are coming or going from this area it is a necessary stop for the Choco Mocha Crunch or the Ultimate Chocolate cake. Best Filipino bakery in the area. Nothing else like Red Ribbon…

FILIPINODELICACY!!! This is definitely the best place to get high quality filipino sweets. Products are freshly made. Well decorated and mouthwatering. Red Ribbon is a popular fast-food chain and bakery in the Philippines, offering a wide range of cakes and pastries. People stop ranting with a negative reviews and don’t expect a huge menu in the table. Do your homework, so you don’t like a fool!!! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but you never know if you love or loathe it. Again, you can’t just make your judgement if you try them only once. I’ve been here twice and have tried almost everything. My favourite item in the menu is the UBECAKE known as purple yum. I thought its delightful because of its creamy filling inside. The purple yam(ube) contributes the best flavor and add pallete. It also brings out and enhance the aroma that is best for the cake. I truly understand that this place could be busy at times but its forgiving. The staff does everything the could and I thought the customer is fast and efficient.

I have not had this type of cuisine since I was a kid. My babysitter was an excellent cook so I have a high bar. I tried the empanadas and mango cake. The empanadas are OK. Not the greatest or the worst. The mango cake was very good. I assume this may be what most will buy from the bakery. I also had trouble determining if they bake some of their goods in house. Many baked sweets are packaged in plastic wrappers. The empanads were served hot but I they too could have been shipped into the store. The service was fantastic here. The guy was so friendly and patient while I made my slections.

Swung by at the request of a friend who asked me to bring a cake to a birthday party. The cakes are beautiful and taste even better. My only issue is that this store isn’t really a bakery it’s just a shop to pick up from. The cakes are baked, decorated, and packages elsewhere. If they baked on site the cakes would be even better.

When this place first opened up years ago, this was the new Filipino craze. It was always packed but not so much now with other alternatives coming to the area. Red Ribbon is a chain restaurant from back home(Philippines) but it’s been in CA, Vegas, NY and NJ so, it’s finally here! My favorite thing is the halo-halo. The best I’ve had and I’ve had plenty! But sometimes the beans/ingredients is too much for me. I mean it’s really sweet. So I asked if they can give me less. Lady said she couldn’t because it’s already comes pre-portioned. What?! Ok so not only the cakes, breads, and food but the Halo-halo too? Because it is chain, the pastries come shipped not made in the store. I love their cakes becuz it is moist and not that sweet. My Favorite are the mango and black Forrest, oh and the Ube, heck all of it is my favorite! Their food is also shipped in which makes the quality of the food not so fresh.

Red Ribbon 1:20 pm on a Wednesday Clean. Red, yellow, white, orange, tan décor. Cheery look. Customer service was excellent. Friendly staff that answered all of my questions. Several questions because I didn’t understand the pics on the posted Menus and needed explanations. Mango cake was tasty. The meal was not at all my style. I may come back for sweets or bread though. Oh! very disappointed they did not have the mango shake I saw mentioned in a previous review.
