Staple of Sandbridge since I was a baby. They carry some extremely hard to find gems, like SURGE! Had to get it on principal.

This place is like stepping back in time, in a good way. It reminds me of all the mom and pop grocery stores from my childhood. This place has the basics of what you would need when you are far away from civilization — or in Sandbridge. Prices are high, but that is expected. Especially when you don’t have a choice! I was able to pick up ketchup, Gatorade and beer — you know, the essentials, and if I had needed beef jerky there was that too. And really, really nice people at the counter who made me laugh.

Hands down the most awesome donuts in the whole wide State of VA!!! These scrumptious babies are made fresh daily and sell out fast! I know this is probably the shortest Unilocal review ever, but as the saying goes«good things come in small packages»!

This place had pretty much everything you could need in a pinch. Their alcohol selection was pretty good(and cheap!) and their produce was very fresh which was surprising. The staff was friendly enough, given that they have to deal with tourists all summer long. Obviously heading further out to one of the larger grocery stores offers a better selection, but this place did not disappoint. Also picked up a half dozen donuts as suggested by other posters. Delicious!

This place is great because they pretty much have a little bit of everything so you don’t need to go to far if you need eggs or paper towels but the customer service sucked! No one ever said hi, no smiles. The cashier was super friendly to the local in front of us but didn’t even make eye contact with us.

Don’t forget to stop by the donut case. It’s near the back of the store by the deli.

Just got out of the water from an Alantic Ocean wintertime washing Machine surfing session and went into the Sandbridge market looking for some coffee. The store has an excellent hometown feel and great hot coffee. Looks like they have everything you need in here when you’re on vacation. They actually make their own donuts(which I just had one and it was awesome). They also have a kitchen in the back where they make lunches. Looks great. Great Hometown store in the midst of all the corporate behemoths out there. If you’re in Sanbridge you’ve got to stop in.

Lovvvveee it – they have CRONUTS!!! Stopped by at 7a and this place was already hoppin. They’ve got several aisles(it’s a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside), sodas, meats, chips — everything a regular store has. And their produce? It’s hard to find apples that aren’t mealy but this place is top notch when it comes to fresh, crisp apples! Their donuts are to die for(they’re huge too!!), they’ve got beach necessities too(sunglasses, bags, toys) and the staff is super friendly to boot!

We call it the Store of Requirement. You’ll find anything you need to buy for your beachhouse here. And the donuts are just too good. Not overpriced. And the public bathrooms for 3 year olds are right next door. They are a store, not a highway rest stop.

Whatever you do, don’t make the mistake of owning a 3 year old who has to ‘go potty real bad’ anywhere in the vicinity of this Sandbridge Seaside Market. This place is happy to take your money for their merchandise but will look you and your potty dancing 3 year old in the eye and tell you there are no ‘public restrooms’. When you tell them you are not ‘the public’ but ‘a customer’, you get a weird look.(If customers are ‘the public’, wouldn’t that make employees ‘the public’ as well) Then if you ask if there is even a bathroom in the store, ‘public’ or not, they will lie to you and say no. Really? You make your employees go home to pee? When you ask them if they would rather your 3 year old leave a urine puddle in the produce aisle — they walk away. Needless to say, I did a lap around the perimeter, saw the door with the big sign that says employees only, went in, and had my 3 year old use the potty, saving them one big health concern over near the bananas. I get it that you want to make all the money you can without having to pay a minimum wager to clean your bathroom more often and stock it with more one ply than usual, but have some common sense(and decency) 1di0ts!

Sandbridge is a secluded stretch of sand south of VA Beach that most closely resembles the Outer Banks while being 2 hours closer to DC. With seclusion comes the lack of shopping/dining options usually, but luckily the Sandbridge Seaside Market is here to provide deli sandwiches and a surprisingly large supply of food and booze. This little market has a full supply of snacks, meats, frozen foods, beer, wine and condiments/sauces, and the pricing is barely worse than the Bloom 6 miles down the road. Luckily for my New Years hangover, they also sold Advil and premade breakfast sandwiches in the deli section. Beggars can’t be choosers in Sandbridge, but luckily, this market doesn’t sell its customers short by charging outrageous prices for shoddy supply. For New Years gag purposes, it should be noted that Sandbridge Market does not sell Four Loko.

Sandbridge Seaside Market is the last stop before the beach and they serve their purpose well. As a tiny market acting as the nearest grocery store for the entire Sandbridge community and the beach visitors, they have big shoes to fill. Everything from sunscreen to pre-made sandwiches line their aisles but also the basic fundamentals like ketchup and hamburger buns. After the windy two lane drive, the Sandbridge Seaside Market is exactly what you would expect. A small structure attached to a local restaurant, with wooden planks to the door and people in bathing suits mulling about. My favorite part is there ready to eat section, brimming with all sorts of goodies. I have a theory that all food tastes better on the beach and so far it’s been true and tested with help from the Sandbridge Market. Sure, I bet everything’s good to begin with but Nutter Butters are just finger licking good after swimming all day and collapsing on the sand. The most surprising part is although they could make a killing being the only suppliers around, they don’t. They have beach prices, yes, especially on sunscreen, but nowhere near the tourist pricing of the Oceanfront. Head to Sandbridge Seaside Market for a more local experience and at local prices.
