Pathetic display of 3 male workers yelling at a mother with baby. Arrogance at its worst. For a $ 2.99 dumpling order. They kept the money and the dumpling and sent the mother away, yuk.

I didn’t care for this at all. I had the Chicken Teriyaki with vegetables and noodles. The chicken wasn’t satisfying at all, the noodles were slimy and the vegetables lacked variety and flavor. They need healthier options in this mall. Sure, speed is nice but quality would be an amazing change.

Not sure what I’m realllly eating when I come here, but the chicken teriyaki is always soooo yummy! Came here on a Thursday afternoon, and the no wait in line was awesome. I say awesome because on the weekend, you will easily wait about 5 or 10mins for your order. The food is on high demand because it takes so good! The food is always fresh and hot. It’s pretty much made to order. The food is kept on the grill where it can easily be heated. You can choose from white or fried rice and you’ll get steamed veggies too. I’d like to think this is a healthy meal because it’s so light. There are other dishes too, but you can’t go wrong with the usual ‘special of the day”

For this place being in the mall I think it’s one of the best places to eat in the food court. They have reasonable prices and they cook the food right in front of you. We usually get the chicken teriyaki plate and add extra meat for $ 1.49 which we share. The only disappointing thing about this place is that it’s only located in the mall. It would be nice if they opened up some free standing Sarku. Other than that I know they do have beef and shrimp plates also. If you want to add lo mein noodles instead of rice it’s a $ 1 extra. If your still not sure they either will have a person out front giving away samples or you can simply ask them at the counter for a sample.

Ordered the sushi and Maki(#1) and it’s delicious. The sushi is good and the maki is incredibly fresh and melt in your mouth good!

Customer service is terrible. For years I have gone here and the portions are getting worse. Prices have gone up and portions are smaller. I went there and ordered chicken teriyaki. I watched as the person handing out portions gave whatever he saw fit to people. It was my turn and I got hardly any chicken. I asked for more. I was told to get more I have to pay for more. I told them if that was the case since I had hardly any in my box I wouldn’t return and they told me «Don’t bother.» That’s not an appropriate response. On top of all that the rice was very dry and clumpy. They just don’t seem to care anymore.

I have loved this place for years. But over the last few years it has become greasy & the meat is very fatty. I don’t know what they are doing different but it’s just not the same. I truly loved this place tho.

I never give«fast food» type places a 5-star, but since«Sarku Japan» has always been my favorite place in the mall for food, They get a 5-star. Simple ingredients, and a limited menu, but when your restaurants’ main dish is awesome tasting Teriyaki Chicken cooked HOT on the grill to order, no need for too many other options. «Do you want it on fried rice, white rice, or steamed vegetables?» That is about the only decision you have to make here. Oh, and if you want the double meat option of course! Maybe a little extra sauce on there also… Superb food that tastes super fresh and tasty. Huge portions also. I am glad to see that«Sarku Japan» survived the renovations at Lynnhaven Mall. Highly Recommend. :-)

This place is pretty decent for mall oriental. There is always a line but it moves fast. I’m not much into teriyaki, so I go all veggie instead. Huge portions. Find a buddy who wants the same exact thing and share so you can save a buck. Just tear the tray in two so they don’t try to charge you for an extra plate. Don’t know if they would but some people are just cheap.

A foodie on TV said to always go where there is a line. This place always has a fast moving line. The food is that good. Generous portions of tasty teriyaki chicken or shrimp over huge pile of fried or white rice and a side of steamed veggies. The veggies are mostly Chinese cabbage with some carrots and broccoli.

My favorite place to get chicken teriyaki and vegtables. It’s so good, I rarely eat anything else there. And for less than $ 6, it won’t break the budget. They cook the food right in front of you on a big habchi grill and it seems effortless. I really do get cravings for this a few times and will drive all the way from Norfolk just to get it.

If you wanna get some cheap, good meat and noodles to go, this is your place. The chicken terriyaki is always on special for like 6 dollars and something. You can even get double meat for just an additional 99 cents more! The service is fast and friendly. To make your meal a lil healthier since you probably will choose the fried rice,(I get white), make sure that you get some vegetables, no extra charge! Ps, don’t forget to add the extra sauce. Yumsters!

the food was awesome. the vegetables were bomb. they were well done. i got the special off the day and i think it was chicken teriyaki meal. the prices were pretty decent coz i bought me and my two cousins the meals for each and it only costed me 20 bucks flat. one of the employees, probably the cashier has a hearing problem or something. and speaks so fast, its difficult to understand her. overall: this is a good place to eat at the food court. food quality was pretty good considering it was a food court restaurant.
