This is one of my favorite, favorite places to shop for antiques, vintage items, or any sort of little tchotchke you didn’t know you needed until you saw it. It’s a little hard to find at first-there’s a sign, but the parking lot is tucked behind a Hertz office building, so you have to turn into the Hertz parking lot and drive through that, behind the office building. Once inside, there is plenty of parking. There are two buildings chock-full, so go slowly, and don’t forget to look up AND down, otherwise you will miss something special-the Shomiers have made the most of their space, and every inch has something interesting in it! The proprieters of this store are two of the friendliest people I’ve ever met, and they will go out of their way to help you find what you want, and help you get it home. I don’t know how, but Mr. Shomier seems able to remember the history of each and every piece he has in his store, so if there are no notes on a price tag, just ask him about the piece, and he will tell you everything he knows. Speaking of prices, I find them more than fair, compared with some of the other local antique stores, but if you are in the mood to haggle, go right ahead and Mr. Shomier will rise to the challenge! There are many antique and treasure stores in this area, but if you want to be treated like an old friend, plenty of variety to choose from, and to be confident that you are getting your money’s worth, then Shomier’s should be your first stop.

I love this hidden gem! It’s smaller than the antique malls but it has charm and the staff are always so friendly and ready to help. I don’t get here as often as I’d like but it’s always well worth the trip!
