Static Restaurant & Lounge

Went to the lounge for an event sponsored by a local Fraternity. Until this event I never knew the place was there. If you keep going on Princess Anne Rd you will drive right by it. The parking lot is small. However, since the food is so good you can get passed anything negative about the place. I had some wings and Mac and cheese. I will definitely go back to this restaurant. This is the type of place you order from when you don’t feel like cooking and want something great to eat.

The nastiest soulfood EVER! First time trying this place & i had take out. They opened at 6pm i picked up my order at 6:30 yet my fried wings were BURNT AND DISGUSTING! They had to be fried in old grease! The mac and cheese was bland and gross as well as my yams. they werent even sweet! Yuck! Never again

The food was great! My catfish and Static wings were fried to a perfect golden brown. The mac n cheese was amazing! I wasn’t too crazy about the greens though. I should have ordered the cabbage. But I digress.
The atmosphere is a lounge. It’s was really like a club that serves food. The good thing about it being a lounge is the drinks are delicious. Yum! I’ll definitely be back, but next time I’ll get it to go. It was really dark and the music was loud, so it wouldn’t be good for a first date or anything. I’ll definitely be back to support this local business.

I live in Virginia Beach and this is a nice spot in Virginia Beach to hang out and chill. The staff are extremely friendly. The food is very very good. I have never been there for the club or karaōke but apparently that starts around 9:00. They have security that wands the guest and so this made me feel safe. I could actually enjoy listening to music without the fear of what you hear about on TV.

The Mac and cheese was amazing, the fired chicken and catfish was seasoned perfectly. The crab cake was fried too hard but overall a really good place

The lady that took my order was cool. I ordered the pork chop sandwich with a side of the whole wings. Call me greedy lol but that was what I was craving. The pork chop was okay, didn’t care for the bun. My sandwich came with fries. Didn’t really eat them as I just wanted the sandwich. The chicken wings were fried to perfection. I just wish the meat was seasoned a bit more. Other than that it was good. The atmosphere was cool too, love the vibe. The music was good too, kept me busy as I waited for my food.

Always have a great experience when I come to chill and just have a few drinks. The security is cool, the owner Lisa is friendly and mingles with the customers. The bartender Janet is the best around. They have great happy hours special and the food is fresh and delicious. Definitely a place to stop by and try out if your in the va beach area.

I first started visiting this place about a month ago after finding it on Unilocal.The food was great came out hot and fresh. The customer service was great also. I walked in and was instantly greeted by the bartender (a short young lady) I think her name is shantel a least that’s what I heard the other customers call her. She was very respectable answering all my questions. I loved the food and service so much I now frequent this spot 2 to 3 times a week. Most of the time shantel is working and always make sure I have a great experience. The reason I’m giving this three stars instead of 5 is because of the owner. She is very rude and disrespectful to her staff. I have seen this women yell at employees in front of customers, rather have them wait on her other then her paying customers, I even overheard her talking about her employees to some customers. Overall this is a nice place to unwind just make sure the owner is not around! Oh yea if I was Shantel I would leave because the owner is really rude to her and from my point of view she works really hard, she act like it’s her business more then the owner herself! Hats off to her!!! That owner definitely needs a reality check!

LOVE IT! My new favorite spot. The first day my boyfriend went and got our food to go. It was soooooo good. I got meatloaf with white rice and gravy, macaroni and cheese and yams. Omg! Sooooo amazing! Yes Lord, I was in Heaven! My boyfriend got fried chicken wings with fries and collard greens and he loved his food as well. He said that it was a really nice vibe inside so as he waited on the food he had a drink. I think it might’ve been happy hour because he got a Long Island for $ 5. Being that he said he enjoyed the vibe, I went in this past Saturday with my homegirl around 10:30 pm and man it was nothing but good vibes, good people, good music, good drinks and a good waitress. I loved it. No drama, no crazy bouncers and no crazy people. It’s my new favorite spot. I will be returning. I’m so glad I found this spot!

So me & bestie just spent the weekend in VA. & I must say we visited Static both days. Very friendly staff… food is ROCKING. Omg their fried chicken is amazing. Friday night we came in here & it was very slow. Not to many people there. Saturday night on the other hand was way better. Great DJ. Great drinks. Great food. What more can you ask for?
Will be returning to Static in June when I’m back in VA. THIS A SPOT YOU HAVE TO MAKE A STOP TO EVERY TIME YOU’RE IN THE AREA.

The food is good and the drinks are strong. The DJ is usually rockin’ as well. I personally had two bad experiences here so I won’t be going back. Don’t expect a lot and you’ll fine.

Love this place. I came here with my fiancé one night and it was friendly atmosphere DRAMA FREE! Good music strong drinks just an awesome place. The owner actually walked up to us and asked if we’ve ever been here (which it was our first time) and she welcomed us and actually got us another round of drinks on the house. We were the only 2 white people in the lounge but we didn’t feel out of place. Everyone is so friendly! We will definitely be returning to try some good soul food they offer.

Let’s start with the location, it’s in a strip mall, beside a barber shop. It’s not a big establishment, but I’ve never had any trouble getting a table or a seat at the bar [happy hour is a different story] The atmosphere reminds me of the show CHEERS, where everybody knows your name! Waitstaff and owner are all very friendly and they will make you feel welcome and they’ll remember your name!
On to the food! Fried catfish is my favorite. I also love the smothered chicken and smothered chops. Best macaroni and cheese in the area, HANDS DOWN!!! Cabbage, greens, spaghetti salad, chicken wings are all delicious. And the mixed drinks are amazing! They have a number of mixed drinks that are EXCLUSIVE, such as the Static Noise. Food is prepared to order and served piping hot every time!
As long as they’re open, I’ll be coming! Be sure and check out happy hour it’s fun!

I was visiting Virginia for the first time and I came here Monday night along with 2 of my girlfriends because I had a taste for some soulfood. Let me just say I found a new favorite spot to visit when I return. They opened at 6 and they had $ 5 Happy Hour of Ciroc, Goose and Hen — can’t beat that! They also do karaōke/​open mic as well. The dj, Holly Wood was nice as well as the lady behind the bar. This location is in somewhat of a hood area but nonetheless, we had a great time!
Food: My friend ordered catfish, Mac and cheese and cabbage. I ordered turkey wings, collard greens and Mac and cheese. Food was AWESOME! It did take a whole to come out but was definitely hot and fresh. The prices were also very reasonable too. Overall, I had a great time. The locals seems to love it here and it was nice meeting new faces.

I go here just for the food. I forgot to take a pic of my plate but I had crabcakes, mac n cheese and potato salad. A plus across the board. The staff is very friendly and attentive, drinks are strong and during happy hour they have awesome deals. Right now I am dying for a bowl of that crackaroni. Lol. (Macaroni that is) it is addictive! Go here to eat if for nothing else. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Trying to decide what to eat for lunch? Want to go out tonight, but don’t want no drama? You need to head over to Static Resturant and Lounge on Princess Anne Road. This is the up and coming spot in Virginia Beach.
Starting with the staff: you are greeted at the door. Rather it be from the manager, bartender or owner, you feel relaxed and welcomed. Around 8pm, the music is turned up, and is turned into a club type atmosphere. After 10, the young and poppin’ must clear the way for the grown and sexy. 30+ only, no drama. Great place to enjoy yourself.
Now for the best part of it all… THE FOOD!!! Lord have mercy! Get to smothered pork chops, crab cake, cheeseburger… IT DOESN’T MATTER! It is all good. But no matter what you do, DO NOT LEAVE THIS PLACE WITHOUT ORDERING THE WINGS! One bite will make you leave your seat, call your mom and actually get mad with her for not making wings like this during your childhood. YES ITS THAT SERIOUS!!!
