I bought a $ 40 umbrella here and opened it on the beach to find it was incredibly cheaply made and much smaller than thought. The store has a no returns policy, so beware of buying gear there. I am a very dissatisfied customer and wasted my money.

All of these stores are ran horribly. They treat employees awful, the owner is incredibly sexist, and possibly the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. Also they sell rejected clothing that falls apart after the first wash. Half of the long term employees are either heavily medicated or stoned. Don’t waste your time.

This place is awesome. Love their shirts Virginia Beach. We’re from California. Visiting family in Norfolk. Got lots of clothes and a hat for my kid. And keychains to go along with it. If I visit again, I’m shopping here. Love the beach wear.

Sunsantions is a classic tourist shopping store. It has t-shirts, bags, sweatshirts, shot glasses, swim trunks, hermit crabs for purchase, and a bunch of other random stuff. There are a bunch of locations on the strip and good to wander through, especially after a few beers ;)

Sold us a hermit crab that died a day later. The animals are in terrible conditions. Expect to have a crying child when the pet dies quickly.

The place is generic. There is nothing special or unique about the mass produced crap you can get here. I was forced to spend money here when my daughter asked that we pick up a souvenir for her friend. I was especially annoyed when their ‘free souvenir mug with $ 10 purchase’ was NOT a souvenir mug. Unless you are memorializing your trip into their store. Surely with the monopoly they have on retail storefronts on the strip they don’t need to give away mugs with their face on it.

Don’t go to Sunstations in Va Beach on 33rd St. The manager is unkind and unhelpful. 25th St was more helpful.

Same as all the other Sunsations down the strip. What gets me is these people that come in knowing full well what this place is, then act like their too good for everyone and complain that everything is a souvenir of the beach. Yeah, you’re on the beach. I used to live in Los Angeles, you get used to it and you either avoid the places or you just suck it up and realize there is somewhere in the world where you too will be that everything“annoying tourist“ But all rants aside, if you’re a tourist, if you’re looking for gifts, souvenirs or a quick, cheap pick up of an item you forgot(because most stores will gouge the prices knowing someone in their absent minded packing rush will forget an essential) come into any of the Sunsations. And leave with some money still in your wallet. Or board shorts.

When I was on vacation in Virginia Beach, it seemed like I couldn’t turn around without spotting another Sunsations store. They are clearly the biggest and most popular gift stores on Atlantic Ave. I just couldn’t seem to walk by one without wanting to go inside, so I indulged the souvenir-crazy tourist in me and had a look around at several of their locations(and by «had a look around» I mean«bought a few more Virginia Beach t-shirts than any one person ever needed»). Each store had more or less the same merchandise, but the one nice thing about there being more than one location was that once I found a couple sundresses on one block that weren’t in my size, I was able to go to the next Sunsations a couple blocks over and sure enough, they had my size there. In addition to clothing emblazoned with Virginia Beach in every font and color imaginable, Sunsations also has your standard array of mugs, key chains, beach towels, shot glasses, and more. For vacationers who don’t like buying a shirt for every place they’ve ever visited, I’m sure a store like Sunsations is a bit annoying. But if you’re looking for a souvenir for yourself or someone back home, this place has got them all under one roof.

It’s hard not to stumble upon, or into, a Sunsations shop along the waterfront in Virginia Beach. Literally, they’re everywhere. Similar to the Demolition Man claim that all restaurants had become Taco Bell, I’m convinced all shops in Virginia Beach became Sunsations. And in these shops you’ll find rows of little vacation trinkets to buy. Shot glasses, mugs and t-shirts are all sprayed across the place. In a slightly more useful vein, there are also some minor grocery items as well as beach ware; beach blankets, flip flops and cheap wakeboards are also available. Fortunately, there isn’t a ghastly tourist mark-up here, so the above items are relatively affordable. And, as the introduction alluded to, these are conveniently located near almost any hotel near the boardwalk.

This is the spot to be if you want to look like the typical tourist plastered in «VIRGINIABEACH» or «VIRGINIAISFORLOVERS» text that was actually made in China. I’m sure it annoys the hell of locals somehow — because it annoyed the hell out of me. I don’t need some clueless foreigner telling me where I am, because that is pretty much self-evident. If only they sold t-shirts, bags, towels and other random assortments of crap with useful information on it — like where the nearest restroom is or why you can’t swear anywhere in the city. They even carry that XXXXXL shirt with a cartoon bikini babe’s body on the front. Every beach city must-have for the heifers, I guess. But almost everything was 50% off for end of season. I’m not sure they need fourteen different stores down the same street, but it was pretty nice getting a decent swimsuit for twenty bucks.

Driving down Atlantic ave in Virginia beach you’ll see a Sunsations, inc within every block. There are 9 locations on Atlantic ave. so be sure to stop by one of them. Being a crazy tourist, I end up buying souvenir’s everywhere and i like to buy them at a good price. This place is perfect. They have a wide variety of t-shirts, sweaters, thanks, towels, etc… Trying to find the perfect present for a friend/loved one back at home then this is the place to go for all your Virginia Beach souvenir’s.
