I took my son to Taylor Farms for their pumpkin patch and fall kids activities. He had an absolute blast and we ended up coming home with three pumpkins. There was a free hayride that took you to the pumpkin patch. At the pumpkin patch were a few things for the kids to do… a small bounce house with slide and a couple of slides in hay. Not a lot for the younger kids but we had fun none the less. Once we got our big pumpkin, we went to the kids area where you pay to get in. Included in your admission are mini pumpkins, face painting, petting zoo, crafts and more bounce houses(I may be missing more). Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back next year!

Totally surprised to see such low reviews! Ok– the pumpkin patch isn’t amazing… I know… but we went for the farm experience. Also– parking signs are CLEARLY marked so sorry that y’all can’t read or understand them. Maybe ask who is in charge of an event if there is a special area in which you should park. Because yes, it IS private property. And if you care– this is the largest privately owned property in VA Beach and the owners and workers try hard to preserve their land and keep its integrity. That is why you can see wild deer, horses, cows, birds, etc grazing in the woodlands and pastures. In the contained area they have a good variety of rare farm animals such as the«Babydoll» sheep which were once near extinction. There are several play areas, face painting, food, music and a hay ride. A small pie-pumpkin is free with admission, which is cheap– or free if you are with a party or arranged group. As for service– I only encountered friendly, knowledgeable people who work hard to help even the most unreasonable people. We were greeting at the entrance to the parking, at the entrance to the park and through-out. I imagine if you act hostile and entitled to anyone– you will get a similar response. Please don’t shy away from this little treasure– there are far too few left in this country.

We arrived early on a weekday for my sons’ preschool field trip. I pulled into the farm and attempted to follow the wooden signs that said«PUMPKINPATCHPARKING» with an arrow. Much to my surprise I hear a horn honking frantically at me and a man waving his arms as if I’ve just run over someone. I start to go into«momma bear» mode, throw my car in park, and walk up to the pickup truck behind me. The older man(who I’m assuming is the owner) asks what I’m doing. I tell him I’m here for my sons field trip and I’m trying to find the parking lot. He looks at me as if I’m the dumbest being he’s ever encountered and tells me that the parking is up front. I ask why the sign that says pumpkin patch parking was pointing the opposite direction, but he doesn’t answer me, floors his truck into reverse, and points to where I’m supposed to park. Turns out he forced me to park in muddy hole which they considered a parking area. Myself, my kids, and my stroller were covered in mud and I was so pissed by his attitude that I didn’t even want to begin the actual field trip… I had seen enough. But, for those of you who would like to know what this farm has to offer, here it goes: There are chickens, turkeys, goats, ponies, cows, sheep, and horses. The only things my kids were interested in were the wooden play structures. I could have saved myself the 40 minute drive and the mud, and taken them to the park in our neighborhood. They threw a bunch of mini pumpkins in a designated area for the kids to pick one and take one home, but we can do that at Harris Teeter. I would have liked them to be able to see how pumpkins actually grow… especially since we were at a «pumpkin patch.» I will never recommend this place to anyone. People underestimate the power of customer service, and perhaps they should have a sign that states«FIELDTRIPPARKING» or better yet, have someone directing cars into their mud hole.
