Not as good as the other one and clerks aren’t very enthusiastic. But I did find Mario Kart 64 here for a good price! Good selection of newer games but SNES/N64 are lacking and cords are overpriced. BTW they even have cartridges of brutal/kaizo(ZAMN, SMW, Yoshis Island!!) mods that I’m dying to try but not at $ 50+ a pop. Maybe I’m too cheap…

Good pricing usually, came up here trying to get two games. One new, one used, asked if they did price matching since I just looked up the used video game and found it at Target, new, for less money. Answered casually«no we can’t». So of course I went to Target to get the video game for $ 10 less the VGH was selling it used. You could’ve had my money but you rather talk to your coworker. Customer service isn’t high on the list at this place, if it weren’t for the fact that they sell older consoles, I don’t think they really have that«cool» factor they used to have. I’m better off buying from Target or Best Buy, sadly.

Went here yesterday with my daughter to purchase a used PS3 for her. We had shopped around at games top and found the prices here to be way better and the customer service was excellent. The kid working there was very knowledgeable about every question we had about the unit. We will definitely be back to purchase used PS3 games from here. Why am I leaving a 3 star review then? Well as soon as we got the Playstation back home and got everything installed, my daughter discovered that there is a ton of porn downloaded to this thing. There really should be some level of quality control before selling these things to kids

Piss poor customer service!!! This place is a joke while I took my son in today to trade in a few of his games along with me «TRYING» trade in my old system I was literally put in the corner of the store and forgotten about… Let me explain while my son and I waited patiently in line I let my son go ahead and trade in his games first because I knew he wanted to look around afterwards to get himself a new game… So I guess while they were going over my sons trade in the store had what they call a «RUSH» of people. While they handled my sons trade in just fine it was my turn to trade in my old system and I was literally told to step aside so the person in the back of the line could be taken care of… UMMM??? OK??? Then after that was handled the guy behind the counter asked me a quick question then just up and left to go to the back of the store??? Afterward the other guy behind the counter told me to step to the side to handle the rest of the people on line??? Well about 10 minutes later the other guy returns to the back of the counter and continues to go on and help who HE wants that’s waiting on line while I’m still waiting with my dunce cap on in the back corner of the store completely forgotten about… When I got tired of there sh! t I just up and left and took my business down the road to Cool Stuff! Step Up The Customer Service!!!

There’s a decent selection upon walking in that’s very, VERY well organized. I liked looking around at their little figures on top of their displays too. It seems like it’s been in the area a while, and that’s cool with me, but they need to spruce up the place. I have allergies to dust, and this place was a field mine. I was holding back sneezes upon entering the place, but video games were calling, so I trucked on. Most of the money games were locked in glass cases, and the figures on the cases were quite dusty.(if you’re the owner, please buy a feather duster… they’re like 2.50 at walmart) Assessing the prices of the games themselves, I always look at their used Pokemon games, newer releases, and oldies but goodies. They might as well slap the name«GameStop» right on there because their prices are within a dollar to GameStops on current games. The pokemon silver they were selling was $ 50.00, more than what it is online or at other local video game shops. The difference with used game/console stores like this however scream PAWNSHOP for video games lol. As we were walking in, there was a chick selling all her x-boyfriend’s games and system. If I was the owner, I would have turned her away, but it was clear they had money symbols in their eyes, because they gave her low-ball prices knowing they were gonna make some huge doe. She took the bait too… This aside, if you’re looking for really old, unpopular games that only you like, this is your place. If you like this but want cleanliness, the Chesapeake location is where it’s at. At least have the RedLaser app or google on speed dial while shopping here. It’s not worth buying some kiddo’s likely stolen game or system.

This establishment specializes in retro video games of yesteryear. If you’re looking for cartridges that will play on classical systems like the Nintendo Game Boy Color or Atari 2600, this is the place to go. They charge such insanely low prices(we’re talking $ 5 to $ 10 including taxes), it leaves me wondering how they pay the rent. The company appears to have three locations in the region: one in Chesapeake, another in Norfolk, and of course this Virginia Beach store. My reason for initially visiting this place, was to change out the dead batteries in my ancient copies of Dragon Warrior III and Metal Gear for the Color Game Boy. No batteries meant no more saving. This sad gamer was very sad, to say the least. The fellow on duty fixed the cartridges like a pro: not a scratch on them. Moreover, he didn’t use cheap electrical tape to hold down the batteries like I would have… they were soldered in! Awesome dude gets a gold star in my book for that expertise. I was also told they can perform various repairs and cleaning services on outdated consoles and handhelds. Considering how manufacturer warranties for such things are long expired, this place is a godsend for old schoolers like me. It seems the game selection changes on an irregular basis, as it mostly relies on trades or selling customers, so there’s inherent randomness in the stock. Some days the place might have nothing you want, other days it will be full of everything you need. I tend to visit it at least once a month whenever I’m in the area. With game retailers becoming more and more corporate by the minute, stores like these are such a relief. Relive your childhood… or teach your child what REAL video games were like. Remember when stage design and level difficulty was more important than boring cut-scenes and multimillion dollar profits? Well these guys and gals do!

This place is nostalgia-bomb for me! I grew up with a lot of old consoles and games and it’s so nice that a place like this has stuff from my childhood I can purchase and either collect and/or play :) The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on their games and systems. Would love to come here again and again!

Nice selection of games and systems. Also good place to trade or sell your games. Just make sure you have the case with your games or they won’t take it.

Retro, retro, retro. We were in the hunt for some sort of game boy. After spending the morning going to yard sales I called around and eventually was referred here. I’m glad I was. They had what we were looking for and at a reasonable price.($ 30). They have old game systems and lots of old games. Nice staff.

Great service, decent selection. If you’re looking for new console titles, they have a lot. If you want antique stuff, their offerings are a little obscure. Not bad overall. They have cool extra stuff, gifts and such, you wouldn’t find in a Gamestop.

For video games, these guys cannot be beat in the Virginia Beach area. While I love Cool Stuff, the quality of the place declined and they ALMOST went out of business. Some of the people in there know me by name even if I’m seldom regular. They’re all very nice to talk to though. I enjoy coming in here even if there’s nothing on the shelves I want. Its just fantastic, if a bit pricey.

There are very few times that music is offensive. Today at 12:05 pm, I was at Video Game Heaven. Whether the store is marketed toward kids or adults, the bottom line is the string of explicit lyrics coming from the choice of music was absurd. Why would I ever recommend bringing a child into that store? I won’t. If you want games, go to Game Stop, or even Cool Stuff. Especially if you have kids, or don’t want to hear how he bleeped the bleep in the bleep, bleeping her real good. I mean really? It’s a retail store, not a strip club.

What an amazing, awesome little store. I like the battlefield blvd store, but this one blew even that out of the water. We were looking for an old gameboy to send a friend over seas that is deployed. The had an old gameboy color without a back that they brought the price down on for me because we had to find one on ebay. We found awesome games to send him. They just didn’t have a Super Mario game, but he said that was pretty popular which I am sure of. They were very helpful. I was greeted at the door. Super friendly. Great environment. I will definitely be going back.

Just stopped by here for the first time the other day. Very clean, good selection, knowledgeable staff, and reasonable prices. A friend informs me they’re active in the community, having recently participated in a panel at ROFCON. Love it; I’ll defeinitely be back.

This place rocks! We have driven by it a bunch since it opened and we occasionally see Mario out encouraging us to come on in to check it out. So, we did. The first thing to know is that this place specializes in old school games. I am sure they have new selections at good prices but I wouldn’t know because I was too distracted by the Atari 2600 and Intellivision games. Seriously. If you are old like me, you remember the days when these systems were ruling the earth. Well, they sell games for them. In fact, they sell games for any system you can imagine from your childhood, no matter how old you are. It is a very cool place. I didn’t look for Tecmo Bowl but I should have. If you are too young to remember Tecmo Bowl, sorry, your childhood is incomplete! Anyway, I had an old PS2 stored away from back in the day so the boys bought a Star Wars PS2 game for like six bucks. They loved it. I guess the retro feel is exciting to them, too. I would guess that we will go back soon to buy some other games. If you are into game systems, this place will likely be right up your alley.
