This place has so much taffy in barrels, all kinds of different flavors. The selection of nostalgic candy, the stuff you had when you were a kid but have not seen for years, is here. I have seen better selection in other stores, but I did score some Chick-o-sticks and some Mary Jane’s. They provide you with a basket, so be careful. Pretty much all candy is weighed. Do not listen to your stomach and that little voice on your s Boulder saying you pretty much need one of everything. Use restraint. Set a timer on your phone, get in and get out, or you will find yourself wondering, why did I buy five Doo good clusters.

Another kewl store here in Virginia City. Lots of goodies. Somewhat expensive. My kid loved it here. Very clean and fully stocked goodness!

PIGOUTPALACE! This is where to go when you need a sugar rush and you take a empty plastic bag and walk among the barrels and grab handfuls of different flavors of candy until next thing you know, you’ve created your very own Candy Crush in your own hot little hands. There are certainly familiar items like Tootsie Rolls and orange slices, but so much more. You pay by the pound.

Normally this is not the sort of place we would drive out of our way for. So why do we? Because it is the best source for my husband to stock up on authentic Dutch Drop. You know, the strong, salty black licorice. It’s an ethnic thing. The store is also a great source for old-fashioned hard candies like Horehound, Sassafras and Lemon Drops. Staff have always been pleasant and helpful.

Horrible store! Employees are rude. They are disrespectful and they argue with customers. Don’t go here! There are other candy stores that are much better in Virginia City. Such a bad experience I almost don’t even want to go to this town anymore. HORRIBLEHORRIBLEHORRIBLE!!!

This is your typical touristy candy shoppe but who doesn’t love barrels of candy? So fun and of course we purchased a bag of goodies!

This old school candy shop has a good-ish selection… lots of unique choices but there’s SOMUCHTAFFY! The prices are high, especially considering the taste of the taffy. But hey, if you’re on acation, why not stop by for a small order of candy to make the experience fun & worthwhile? It’s a cool place for a light snack and fun, interesting photos.

Compared to any other candy store I’ve been in around CA(Lafayette, Petaluma, Monterey) this is by far the most expensive. The overpriced, stale bag of candy was a disappointment bite after bite. My mother-in-law’s variety of taffy flavors were all sub-par, and she said they tasted old and left a bad taste in her mouth. $ 2.25 for a small travel-size pouch of Hot Tamales? The movie theater has better deals than that. If you are in Virginia City and need something sweet, perhaps a fresh donut or ice cream is the better choice. Who knows how accurately they can rotate the old candy out of these giant bins?!

I agree with Ryan M. I added a star for the candies that they have that you can’t find at regular stores.

Crazy high prices, 90% of the stuff in the store is just different flavors of taffy(which is the only candy I don’t like). The rest is supermarket candy — stuff you can buy at walmart for $ 3 a sack instead of $ 3 per bite.

Smells delicious before you even get outside the doors — mmmm, taffy! A fun shop with candy AND some fun nostalgic items — I scored a 8×10 of my beloved Marlon Brando in «The Wild One»!

One of the coolest things I have ever seen. They really do have BARRELS of candy. Maybe 50+ barrels of everything. They feature one of the largest taffy selections that I have ever experienced. In fact I’m willing to bet I was just as excited about walking through here as my kids were. The staff pretty much leaves you alone and let’s you roam about. When you first enter the store you grab a bucket and go from one delicious barrel to the next. Once your done they weigh all of the taffy and bam there’s your price. They also feature a lot of the old classics like the bubble gum box of smokes, and dots. If you want the fancy stuff they sell truffles in the back.

Taffy, lots of taffy! A business that actually lives up to their name. They literally give you a huge bucket to stuff all your goodies in while shopping in the store, which could be trouble if you have a lot of little ones! Probably one of the best selections of taffy in Virginia City, and friendly employees too!
