I can’t even count the number of times we’ve been here, from just the two of us to a party of over 20. The food is ALWAYS delicious and more than reasonable. So much food, too! I love the servers we’ve had and never had a bad meal so I’m sorry to read the negative reviews from others. We always go back every time we’re in the area.

Went in Sunday night, it was almost empty, super silent and cold. Ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, and Sweet and Sour Pork. Server was prompt with drinks, but not very knowledgeable of menu. No employee smiled or said«hello». Our food arrived, Chicken Fried Rice was burnt, greasy and cold. The Mongolian Beef was cold, greasy, underdone and coated in cornstarch, we returned it asap. The Sweet and Sour Pork was very hot, overcooked, chewy with congealing red sauce and a few pieces of fruit were rotten. After eating minor amounts we requested bill. We left with burnt flavor in our mouths and minor indigestion. All above comments were mentioned to server, but we still paid for two whole dishes.

I grew up eating Chinese food from the Hong Kong Restaurant. I love the soft noodles. Everything is delicious! We usually order family style. The fried shrimp and sweet & sour chicken are my favorites. Hong Kong serves quality food, we haven’t found anywhere else. We travel in from Yuma, AZ and we can’t leave town without a dinner at Hong Kong!

This place is a gem. The woman running the show there is the sweetest. She remembers me and I never have to ask for extra chili oil on the side. I love that. Their fire cracker prawns are so light, plump and nothing like I’ve been able to get elsewhere! I get extra jalapeños in my prawns. I love their green beans with black bean sauce. I’ve also had their honey walnut shrimp, tomato beef chow mein and shanghai chow mein which are also all amazing! My only problem is taking forever to decide what I want. Too many solid choices. Great portions, great prices and family ran. It doesn’t get much better than this spot when you’re craving Chinese food.

There was a lot of food for the price of 7.50. Two full plates smothered with slop. The food wasn’t entirely bad, but it really wasn’t good either. My friend and I determined that the waitress had to either have been coming down from a high or was jonesing for a score pretty hard. Honestly, she wouldn’t have noticed if we left without paying for our food. It’s not likely that I’ll be back.

This place is very close to work and the food is delicious. Today I brought my family to try it and hopefully they like as much as I do. I specially like the Chinese style noodles wit the orange chicken.

Yummy yummy yummy i got asian food in my tummy. Went there for lunch and got the cheap dinner special #2 for $ 8. It was an amazing sampler of all things Chinese. Even though it was slow when I went food was fresh and prepared properly. Had the great relief of cool air coming in. Shocking someone can call this dog food, Taylor you’re eating at too many 5-star restaurants where you’re probably paying 20 dollars for a glass of water. I ain’t no dog and I loved every bit of my food. Just cause you don’t know what it is doesn’t mean it’s not people food. For the lady that complained about your stomach your tummy probably isn’t used to the oils or spices they use, I get the same thing when I eat something that I don’t normally eat. Best part of it all is I had enough left over for a big lunch the next day, you practically get 2 meals for the price of one here.

This food was so terrible that neither my wife nor I could eat even half of it. Our waitress was so cold and short that it seemed she wanted to be anywhere but in the presence of people and I had to hail her down after 10 minutes of chatting up the kitchen staff before she took our order(there was one other couple in the entire place when we were there). We left 75% of what might not even pass as dog food there(if you knew me, you would know it takes a lot for me to let food go to waste– I could probably count the times on one hand). Long story short, I would never go back again and I suggest you don’t either. Now we are hungry and they wouldn’t offer any compensation other than, «that’s just how they do it» –so much for possible improvement! So, save yourself the nausea and GOSOMEWHEREELSE.

Co-Worker and I came here for lunch. Wow! So good! I forget what I ordered. Something«Lun» Has chow mein, chicken, beef and shrimp! So good! And lots of food for the price! The place was only $ 7.50. Seriously the food was piled on my plate. Looked like a mountain of deliciousness.

How did this place get so many good reviews??! As a native Asian person from Asia, I’ve only encountered very few incidences in the US where I had food so confusing and troubling to my stomach even hours after, still. My very white boyfriend and I stopped in this place after a long weekend in the lovely national parks, having mistakened each other’s craving for Chinese food. While our waitress wasn’t Asian, we heard some Cantonese conversations in the kitchen. Well, must be legit! Absent-minded, we ordered the shanghai special and #1 combo. The soup came, it was alright. Then the main plates showed up. It was like a confusing explosion of random Chinese food you see on every whitewashed Chinese menus imaginable on your plate at once. Some kind of fried rice, noodles, fried chicken bits in very strange pink sauce(was it sweet and sour chicken? Not sure), very strangely breaded shrimp and spring rolls, and some onion pancake thing they call«egg foo-yung». Last time I ate with my grandma at a legit Chinese restaurant, egg foo-yung was some kind of dish covered by actual eggs with a fluffy texture that’s so light, almost cloud-like, which is part of the name derivation for«foo-yung» in Chinese. Anyway, back to the food. They all tasted okay at first. They reminded us of our cheap Chinese takeouts in college days. A dash of MSG here and a dash of soy sauce there. Meh. After getting over how weird these food items were and how not authentic they were, it wasn’t THAT bad. It was edible and acceptable, that is, until half an hour later… Our stomachs haven’t felt right since we left the restaurant. Being in a car for 3 hours continuously probably isn’t helping either. We probably would’ve been better off going to Panda Express 5 minutes north on the 62. But then again, neither of us really cared for Chinese food in Visalia; we should’ve gotten some burritos instead.

I’ve been to Chinese restaurants across California and Asia, and this is the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time! So much flavor, but it isn’t greasy nor does it taste salty or filled with MSG – almost like health Chinese food if that makes sense. Prices are unbeatable and the customer service was excellent. The owner is actually from San Francisco and moved here to take over the restaurant. The building is historic and represents old china town. Love this place and would recommend it to anyone!

Not what I expected, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a decent meal. I ordered the fried won tons with sauce, thinking they would be the cream cheese filled won tons that I’m used to getting at Chinese places, but they were just deep-fried strips of the won ton batter, and the sweet n sour sauce wasn’t what I’d been used to either — I’d say it was one level worse than the kind you’d get at Panda Express. I ordered the Veggie Combo even though no one could tell me what sauce was used in it. The veggies also are not listed, so it would have been nice to know it was mainly asparagus, broccoli, mushrooms, and snow peas. In all, I wouldn’t say the food was bad, but it definitely did not meet my expectations based on the style of Chinese food I’m used to eating in California.

I remember when a friend brought me here and I walked in thinking what a dump and thought the food was going to taste bad then I ate it and it was by far the best Chinese food I’ve ever ate. The building has a very aesthetic feel to it and the most important thing is all the food is awesome. If I were to be over critical about the place I would say some of the staff needs to be pepped up. The greetings always feel superimposed and they just act like they hate their job. Mrs woo is very nice. But the most important thing is the food, and that’s the best.

After coming back to this place 4 times and constantly putting it to the test I cannot find any fault in the food that we’ve ordered. It’s simply the best chinese food we’ve found… and we live in LA which has plenty of options for american-style chinese. This place could easily hold its own in San Gabriel Valley. Firecracker prawns and the combination chow mein top the charts. And I can’t eat here without at least one piece of plain egg foo yung. Beef and broccoli is also good– not too saucy or heavy on the corn starch. Just really good flavors all around. Not overly salted or heavily sauced, you get the smokey flavor of the wok and sesame oil in the pan fried noodles, and taste the subtle aromatics and spices in the entrees. Probably a good thing it’s in Visalia, otherwise I would be eating it whenever the craving strikes… which is often.

Visalia severely lacks a good Chinese Restaurant, but Hong Kong is probably the best choice Visalia has. Some menu items are not to my liking, but several are very delicious. The things I can almost never get enough is here is: Shanghai Chicken Chow Mien Broccoli Beef Beef Fried Rice Brandy Chicken Wings Shrimp Honey Walnut Prices are reasonable, usually there are always several tables open. Décor is very nice and place is kept clean. Restaurant is in historic China Town of Visalia. Steve out
