My recommendation: If the choice is going to the Kaweah Delta ER or dying, dying will be far less frustrating. 5 hrs laying in a bed with zero contact from a Dr. Kaweah is far more concerned with the bottom line than they are with patient care. If they gave a shit about patients they’d have decent staffing levels. Of course it could have something to do with the illegals packing the waiting room. Half ass experience at best.

Horrible horrible horrible!!! I was here at the end of March and didn’t ask about my medical care, I just trusted in a hospital as it was my first time receiving care. Well having MS I realized that they never did a MRI on me seeing that I didn’t have a Neuro at the time, I was treated with 250mg steroids over 24hrs when I should’ve been being treated with 1000mg all at once. They were suppose to put in a 24hr catheter but left it in for almost 72hrs causing a UTI which ended up affecting my kidneys putting me back into the hospital the beginning of June. Horrible care in the ER since being paralyzed from MS the ambulance drivers just tossed me into a chair in the corner and I was ignored but finally admitted once they saw how bad I was. I asked several doctors to check for a UTI but was ignored until my wonderful nurse finally took a sample and had it tested. I take 800mg ibuprofen for pain and 5mg of diazepam at night for leg spasms plus baclofen. Well once I was admitted Dr Shoraz would only allow me 400mg ibuprofen and 2mg Valium for my horrible pain but said that I could have as many Norco’s as I would like which I declined and sat in pain. For 36hrs I stayed awake fighting to see some kind of neurologist and to get a MRI and proper steroids as this time instead of giving 1000mg they were giving me 80mg! Gigantic difference! It took me asking to be discharged and speaking to the head nurse in charge before I finally got steroids, antibiotics, 800 ibuprofen, baclofen and 5mg Valium. Typically you don’t give steroids while there is a infection present but I didn’t question this as I was getting iv’s like crazy. The nurses here are wonderful but the doctors are insane! The Neuro finally ordered my MRI and said that we would go over it together but instead he just discharged me without saying a word about it! I was suppose to be discharged with 5mg Valium for my spasms but they would only give me 2mg for panic attacks that I don’t even have! Even though my doctor just saw me in the hospital she would only give me the 5mg if I came in for a office visit even though I’m paralyzed and just out of the hospital, but that’s a whole other review somewhere else. So bottom line the nurses are wonderful, but please be your own patient advocate and protect your care because you will not receive proper care here if you have MS that’s for sure! Oh and the food sucks! But awesome nurses(weekend staff 4th floor south)!!!

We had a very bad experience in this hospital. My wife delivered our daughter here. Dr Lake was the OBGYN because our OBGYN Dr. Bosman will not be available on the delivery date. Dr. Lake went to check on my wife two times during labor. He decided to break the water to facilitate labor. After that, he left. We have not seen him for a while after that. Not even a nurse went to the room to frequently check my wife’s labor progress. My wife asked me to check because she can feel the head of the baby seems to be coming out. I was shocked to see that I can already see our baby’s head about to come out! I was furious that nobody was even inside the room. No nurses, no Dr. Lake! I have to call the nurses at the station. Nurses rushed to prep my wife for delivery and even before they finished setting up, the baby was already out! The nurse holding my baby nervously shouted at me to stop recording with my video camera. Dr. Lake was no where to be found. After everybody was there, Dr. Lake finally came. He then stitched my wife while standing up, without wearing a sterile gown and NO gloves! This is his standard of taking care of his patient. He thinks we are just second class citizens he could treat that way. It was a horrible experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this very unprofessional and unethical doctor and this substandard hospital.
