Food, service and atmosphere were all great! Beef bulgogi, mussels and tuna poke salad were delicious.

So their rice is exceptionally well cooked. It’s fluffy and each grain is visible on their rolls. Now for the fish: exceptionally fresh. Their shrimp tempura is light and crispy. I still love their poke bowls. They give a generous portion of fish. The ratio of rice, vegetables and poke is very balanced. I visit this place regularly and the staff is very courteous and professional.

Not really sure how this place earned all the 5 star reviews. Got several sushi items and other things off the menu. I waited for almost 30 minutes for my to-go order, the place was almost full though. The things that I got deep fried came out terribly uneven, I expected it too since they were using a home quality type deep fryer, just not up to par. The place smelled like grease and my clothes smelled heavily like it. Eh…unless something changes I won’t be back. Glad to see others patronize the place.

Ummm where do I start. My husband loves Korean, and we both love sushi. There is not much seating, and it is very loud do to the blenders, and the elevator type of jazz music. The food wasn’t the best, but the service was sweet. Prob. Won’t come back.

Had the crunchy spicy roll, Miso soup, and spicy Pork Bento box. Really loved the meal, atmosphere, and friendly staff!

Slow service with an empty restaurant. Sushi chef thought 4 rolls between three people was a lot of food… rude as hell. Rolls were ok at best.

BoBa! Sushi! I came with my fiancé and we saw that there was BoBa drinks. So we went after to get a drink and let me tell you the Taro shake with BoBa is amazing! I’m never disatisfied with there drinks! Now let’s talk about the food… Great! I got a bento box and it was so neat it looked like art! I didn’t care too much for the price… at first! But after I ate the sushi, beef, and vegetables I was a believer on how good this food actually is and was okay with the price. After you leave you will smell like oil and Asian food! So it’s a blessing and a curse, because everyone wants to know why you smell like that and then youre constantly hungry cause you smell the amazing food that is Maroo. For those concerned about customer service I haven’t seen any employee be rude. I do like to have some sort of conversation with the people handling my food but it seems like all you do get is short answers but I wouldn’t go out to say that they are rude. Everyone is different and some people just interact differently with people.

I am addicted to this place. Try the Poke Salad, YUM! The pot stickers are great, the sushi is fresh. The atmosphere is very quiet and personable. I love it here.

The service was fine, although the woman who served me seemed a tad bit rude. It’s not too quiet not too loud. A nice place to stop by for lunch. The atmosphere seemed okay. There’s not much that makes this restaurant fantastic, not was there anything particularly bad during my visit.

My sister and I always come to this place for their boba smoothies! Sadly, this will probably be one of my last due to the store manger for being SORUDE. I ordered a smoothie and it didn’t come out very good so I asked the employees if they could exchange it for another drink(given the fact that we barely took a sip). And they went to go ask the manager and he was being a complete smart ass with me. No professional act ATALL and very unimpressed with his service. I feel as if the employees felt ashamed for how poorly the manager acted. An employee was kind enough to bring the drink out to our table. But never again will I consider bringing my business back. Horrible last experience.

Maroo is one of my all time favorite sushi restaurants in this entire area. Even that once I moved an hour away I still love to make the drive and eat there. I have had just about every roll there and I have never been disappointed. The staff is nice and at one point they would recognize me and ask me about what’s new. I love places that have staff like that. 100% worth what you pay. I suggest the baked green muscles for sure!

While a little expensive, Maroo is a great option for quick take-out or dine-in Japanese and Korean food(with a hint of Chinese thrown in for good measure) in Visalia. I highly recommend the Unagi Bento Box and Baked Mussels– they are almost too good!

I came here because I had just walked out of FedEx next store and saw a smoothie sign on the sidewalk. I’ve been searching for the perfect smoothie since Orange Julius in the mall closed :(this place was fantastic maybe even better than OJ! I got a chicken teriyaki bowl and a pineapple coconut smoothie with boba. Ask for Connie! She recommended everything I got :) girl knows her smoothies.

Food: ordered the salmon poke bowl $ 10. Cheaper than what you find in the bay and of same quality. Also had a protein and boba smoothie for $ 6 made with fresh fruit. Atmosphere: not large, not busy at noon on a Thursday but comfortable and clean. Owners were incredibly nice. This place is somewhat of a hidden gem. It is one of two mom and pop Korean restaurants(likely the only 2 Korean restaurants) in Visalia. But is the only place that sells boba drinks that can be compared to those found the bay. Menu is big and has everything from bento to sushi to Korean specials. Everything is on the cheaper end except for the fish because it is the Central Valley. Highly recommended.

The owner scolded my mom in front of customers for using the restroom before paying because his facility is for customers only. She tried to explain she was meeting family for lunch and he questioned her as if she was lying. Then the owners wife was nit picking at my mom because my little brother was sitting at a table playing with chopsticks(a table where she was waiting for me and my dad to arrive so the chopsticks would’ve been used) and that was the last straw for my mom. She was humiliated for being yelled at over the counter and after an argument broke out about customer service, I arrived and the owners realized they were my parents(they know me) and started apologizing. As if they treat certain customers that way? we didn’t have lunch there that day. Good food can be spoiled very quickly when the owners were extremely rude, and I was a frequent customer. It’s a shame I will no longer be going there. For future customers, PAY before using the restroom or you will be stopped and questioned in front of the Resturant.

What a find in a strip mall, no less. Docked 1 star only because I’m a little confused with ambience/décor. Cottage/sushi/boba signs everywhere but a spot in place for food ! I had the beef bulgogi bento and ordered a California crunch roll. Plenty of pieces and the bento was so delicious, I contemplated ordering 1 to-go as I’m here for business trip. Unilocal once again didn’t disappoint, and am a happy person now that I’ve had my white rice + sushi fix. Interesting mix of menu items but sushi is just rolls, some poke bowls and sashimi. Service was great!

I’ve eaten at many Korean restaurants all over California and this has to be the worst one. The spicy pork is like slimy tasteless fat. The kalbi was also really subpar and cooked poorly. The clerk was also extremely rude to me about the way I sign my receipts and said I was doing it wrong. I’ve never had someone tell me that in my 10 years of using credit cards. WTF? Go to Korean House instead. Much better food and service. They’re aren’t overpriced like this garbage either.

I decided to try this place out hoping to have a few«go to» places since I just moved from the east coast. The Kalbi was actually really good, but the platter over all just fell short for me especially for the price. For $ 16, I expect a lot more to be part of my platter other than a 2oz cup of cooked vegetables, 2 pieces of a California roll, half a container of rice and a generous portion of Kalbi. I think maybe I was hoping to get more vegetables and maybe some other side dishes? But it’s a personal preference. I ordered a runners shot, with boba. Wasn’t really my favourite primarily cause you can tell it’s all made from powder. They use soy protein, but I’m not sure if it really is soy protein, because I didn’t have an allergic reaction to it. And I’m pretty sensitive to soy-based products. I didn’t know it had soy until I sat down, drinking the drink, and looked up at the menu to read«soy based protein». I waited 5 minutes and didn’t have a reaction. So either they didn’t put it in or its some magical substance that’s «soy» that I’m magically not allergic to. But figured I’d warn others that have a sensitivity to anything. I’ll continue searching for a boba place but I’d probably skip over this place for boba just get the food here maybe.

My review is ONLY for the DRINK(s), not the food. I have been on a boba-bender and needed a fix, but didn’t want to make the drive to Fresno. I looked up milk tea/boba in Visalia and this listing popped up. It seemed pretty good. I arrived, after having no trouble finding the location. It’s in Packwood Creek by Target and directly across the parking lot from Chipotle & Starbucks. I like the décor, nice and intimate in some spots(a booth) and then some casual café seating(tables and chairs). Everything was clean and smelled good. The employees were also professional and the cashier was very friendly. I ordered the Taro Slush w/boba. They have a few other drinks on the menu… but I thought this was a sure bet. My drink was made in a few short minutes and was reasonably priced. As I headed out the door, I took my first sip. Let me tell you… this does NOT taste anywhere near what Taro should taste like. I’m relatively new at the Taro flavor, but have had this drink at other places and they all tasted consistent. This was basically a purple slush w/sweetener!!! I can’t say how much I HATE artificial sweeteners!!! If I get a drink w/some, it’s going straight to the trash. This drink was plain awful, based off that alone. The boba was semi decent, if you can get past that super sweet after taste. If you are someone that likes artificial sweetener, this drink may be ok… just don’t expect it to taste like Taro. I will def NOT order a drink again. I would like to come back and try their food items, everything looked and smelled great while I was waiting on my 1st visit here. I will update my review accordingly
