I visited New China on June 13, 2016, for lunch with a group of friends. There were about eight of us. It was midday and was not very busy. It was my first time eating there, and I was very surprised at how good the food was. I ordered a lunch special with orange chicken, chow mein, and pork fried rice. The establishment was immaculate and nicely decorated. There was a mild language barrier with the waitress, but it was not a big deal. I was very surprised that this restaurant was so good and so clean for being in a poor location. It is in the back of a quiet, not very popular shopping area and can’t be seen from the main road. I was also fond of the price of the lunch special because there was so much food I was able to split it into two meals.

Sizzling rice soup and kung pao chicken OMG so good!!! Overall service was great, the place is clean and nicely decorated. I think we found our little go to Chinese spot when visiting the mother in law. :)

They must have change the chef because the last 6 months I been to this restaurant off and on, food was definitely not the same when compare to a year ago. Greasy, soggy veggies, or covered with heavy gravy. Thought I give them one more chance. So I reserved a few tables weeks ahead of time in addition to speaking with manager in person on two occasions weeks in advance. It turned out on the day of our dinner we were totally ignore as customers; Both service and food was very bad. The food was not even hot. Needless to say they lost not only my business, but most in my group as well.

Definitely five stars. Sorry to everyone else who didn’t have a favorable experience. My friends and I went 30 mins before closing on a Sunday night. Was just giving this place a shot and so glad we did. The service was pleasant. The food was fast. The place is comfy and spacious. But the highlight of this visit is the cuisine! Favorite items from this visit: Wor won ton soup Salted pepper shrimp Salted pepper chicken wings Sweet & sour pork Beef chow fun I am full from dinner just now but wouldn’t mind going back tmrw for lunch. It’s always nice to try a restaurant and for your expectations to be exceeded. Such is the case today. Food is so flavorful and served fresh. I literally enjoyed every item ordered. My friends and I all ranked the different entrees and we each had a different item at the top of our list. Thank You for such a delicious dinner. This will be a regular stop for me whenever in Visalia.

Dude this place is phucked up! Straight up RACIST… A family had to leave because they were discriminated against. Man I wouldn’t even trust the hands that cook the food with that kinda ignorant mentality. Smh I WOULDNEVERSPENDMYMONEYHERE! #NoStars

RACISTRESTAURANT! I HADTHEWORSTEXPERIENCEEVERATTHISPLACE! Today me and my 2 young children walked in only to be treated as if we were invisible. We are an African American family. When we first walked in, a Caucasian family walked in right after us, and the waiter COMPLETELYLOOKEDRIGHTTHROUGHUS and asked the other family if they wanted to be seated. I gave them a piece of my mind, and left immediately. DONOTEATHERE!!!

Food was good, but a bit over priced… service was friendly but slow. Might return but most likely will visit another Chinese place as there are so many to choose from here in Visalia.

My favorite Chinese food restaurant in Visalia! I’ve had Chinese food from LA to New York City, and New China in Visalia is, in my opinion, better than NYC Chinese food! All the dinner/lunch combos are delicious and affordable. I love their Chinese chicken salad and their wor won ton soup is the BEST! Service is always fast and friendly!

We were in town for a convention and sick of hotel food and was craving some Chinese soup and I found the great reviews on Unilocal and we decided to give it a try. The bbq pork soup was hot and delicious. The server was friendly and the service was great The prices were reasonable. The parking lot was large and the parking was easy.

Yummy! I brought my 3 year old daughter here for a mommy/daughter date night and we both got our grub on! I ordered a dinner combo plate with sweet and sour chicken. The vegetable medley is so delicious! Our order came with soup, wontons and the wonton sauce. So dang good! Service was awesome. There were 3 – 4 other tables being serviced and 2 ladies working. They hustled around and took care of everyone. I believe our bill was like $ 9. Not too bad! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Had dinner with my family last night, and coming from Jersey, I wasn’t too thrilled when my family picked a chinese restaurant for a familly dinner. I’m glad they did. The food was fantastic. The portions were family size. The service was great. I don’t recall the last time I ate great chinese food.

This place is sooooo yummy! I have been going here for a couple of years now and the food is always delicious! Never really busy either. Only bummer is that they are closed on Tuesday. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the hot tea they serve. I know its small. but I’m expecting some good Chinese potent tea! Not some off brand, old tea that you bought at the swap meet. The tea never changes, always the same bland tea. to bad. makes me wonder about the food… lol

Decent for about this area at times very well done. There are many others that does not come close to this level. Just don’t expect San Gabriel Valley caliber.

If it wasn’t for the fooding being delicious i wouldn’t continue to go back. The service sucks. It never fails that the waitress is in a bad mood and we have to wave them down to refill our water glass and then get an attitude because of that.

Ok… the food is still delicious here, but unfortunately my mother, my husband, and myself ended up with food poisoning after ordering take-out from New China. Could have just been a poorly prepared batch of food… or perhaps one of the employees came to work sick, or one of them is not washing their hands properly. Either way, I thought I would update this to notify others of our experience. Like I said, the food is still delicious, as it has always been. We were just unfortunate enough to get the short end of the stick this time when ordering from there. Needless to say… we probably won’t be eating any Chinese food for a while. Not from here… or anywhere else.
