Drive to vista from ocean beach just to see jim. You can find anything online but finding someone that has the passion and love for slot cars, inventory and the tracks to race and play on makes it worth the drive from anywhere in socal. Dont buy anywhere else. Go to nomads first.

Took Maxim and his teammate Corbin in for our first time experience today. It was a good first experience and we are looking forward to returning to race the tracks again.
My uncle Lou from South Jersey made the recommendation and both the boys loved it. We had to leave a little early because Corbin was experiencing some leg pain but they both told me they want to come back and do this again.
The main man who most likely owns Nomads was totally knowledgeable and entertaining — he made it a great first time experi3nce.

Great place to learn about slot car racing and have a fun time with your kids. Our twins 7 yo love this place also. We just can’t get there often enough. I hope they get a better location to grow the business. Something higher profile into a strip mall and out of an industrial park. Wishing you the best in future endeavors. We will make it point to stop by and get some gifts for Christmas. Thanks Jim and do what you do best. Love this place.

Me and my son have been going to Nomad raceway for several years now.
Friendly atmosphere for young and old, this is a fun and inexpensive way to get your racing fix. Owner Jim is a slotcar master and is always willing to help with any questions on car purchasing, tuning and driving. For a very minimal cost we are able to become annual members which allows for hours of entertainment throughout the year. Snacks are available for purchase but what amazes me is that the owner allows you to bring in your own food/​drink if you are on a tight budget. Although it is a business and needs to make money to operate, you get the feeling that Nomad racing is more about bringing more people into a great hobby, teaching young ones about the sport, and keeping us old guys entertained. Feel very fortunate to have this raceway close to our home, it has brought me and my son many hours of enjoyment. Many thanks to the Nomad crew

Nomad is a great place to learn about or get reacquainted with slot car racing. I first met Jim years ago at a now closed slot car shop in Santee, and his knowledge was evident then. He opened Nomad soon after and my son and I got involved in club racing with Nomad. Jim is always happy to share help and advice, and Nomad has really honed the slot racing experience. Nomad has the latest technology like digital racing, but it is as fun now as when I was a kid. Take your family or group to Nomad or have Jim come to you. You won’t regret it.

Jim, the Owner at Nomad, is one of the finest authority in and around slot cars … The Nomad racers club has some great fun on race days … But Nomad is not just about club racing, Jim has great portable tracks for events and birthdays and he has a very well stocked shop for both casual and serious slotters ! Check it out in person or online, well worth it !

This place is awesome and Jim, the owner, is great! Took my son and his 5 friends here for his 7^th Birthday celebration and they truly loved it. Don’t think they’ll ever forget this experience. Thank you Jim for making this celebration so special for everyone. We will definitely be back and recommend to others!

Just spent a couple hours here with four kids (ages 9 – 13). Great time! We have a small track at home and wanted to see how the ‘big boys’ play. Jim was great — showed us around, ran a couple races for us, conditioned the cars we brought in, etc. We plan to set up a party here in the future, and will definitely be back to play (and shop — great variety available and plenty of knowledgable folks around).

Race at their facility, rent their equipment (about $ 20.00 hr per person) they will let you try a lot of fast cars if you have a clue on how to race. They can bring the party to you, too. A good place to buy a quality home set for Christmas.
