Hartikka Tree Farms

I chose to go to Hartikka farms because they posted they grew balsam trees. I wanted a 4 – 5 foot tree and had hoped they charged by the foot. I searched online to find what their pricing policy was but couldn’t find that information online. I was disappointed to find that they charge the same price no matter the size of the tree, which I only learned when it came time to pay for the tree. Other customers were complaining as they left the cashier also. An employee we met as we were leaving confirmed that they heard this same complaint often. The farm is well staffed and helpful. If you’re in the market for a tall tree you’ll get your moneys’ worth — but I wish they were more upfront with their pricing policy. There should be a sign when you drive in that there is one price for all trees. I will not be back.

Agreed with previous reviewer! I have been coming here since I was a child, and now again at 30 years old. Tree selection is the best, the experience is the best, BUT the little treat of some Allie’s donuts (had Allie’s last year — Dunkin yesterday) and perusing the ornaments and gift shop upstairs is no longer there. We used to get an ornament from here every year when I was young. Still an experience, just not as great as years before.

Almost a 10 year family tradition… beautiful selection of trees that you cut yourself & wreaths beautifully garnished with simple bows… hot chocolate and donuts for a small donation… beautiful people… shetland pony drawn carriage rides… like going back in time. LOVE
