Genovese’s

I usually don’t spend a lot of time leaving reviews on Unilocal unless something is just really good or really bad.
Today, I just want to leave a bit of a shout-​out and a recommendation to other diners who happen to be a round Vonore — where I found myself today while travelling.
If you like New York style pizza, this is your place. I stopped in for a few «by the slice» pieces of pepperoni pizza and this is the epitome of REAL New York style pizza.
It doesn’t hurt that the owners are from NYC (actually, this is almost always a credit to the end result, as it is to the beloved NYC Pizza of my hometown: Tulsa, OK)
The waitress was SUPER friendly and didn’t waste time getting my order in and served to me. The cannoli was exquisite and a great value, too.
Good job, Genovese’s! Vonore city residents are lucky to have this place around!

I am thankful to have a solid pizza place that is near my home! Living out of the city you often give up quality to shorten the trip to and from. However, this is not the case with this spot! I love the fact they offer pizza by the slice! Most of the time I can’t eat more than 2 slices anyway. The slices are HUGE too! I was also very happy with the subs. I’ve only had the Italian sausage and the Philly but both were great. The service is super friendly but often extremely slow. For some reason they only have 1 server for 10 tables? It’s worth it though!

They’re are not considered an «Italian restaurant»… They’re a pizzeria… The owners will even tell you that.
Now with that said, we come every week and we always have such a great experience! They have a full menu; something for everyone to enjoy.
Plus the owners are fantastic with our two young boys! Honestly, I cannot say enough how much we love Genovese’s.

We’ve ordered takeout twice from this place. Wanted to try their pizza first time; the second time, husband had a craving for a sausage and pepper sandwich. Both times, the «meat» ingredient was horrible. My husband asked specifically was the sausage fresh and assured yes, he ordered. Will never go back again. Frankly, I’m puzzled by the rave reviews. This is no Italian restaurant by a long shot. Sorry. ..

First time visitor! The service was great and the food was delicious! We will be coming back. We had spaghetti, Stromboli, and a massive stuffed pizza. The food was hot and fresh. The pizza crust was perfectly crispy.

We love this amazing restaurant!!! Wonderful food!!! Great variety!!! Friendly service!!! The owners are fabulous! Can’t wait to move to the area! We will definitely be regular customers!!!
