Everything about this place is awesome! The ice cream is great and the food is actually pretty good! It’s usually pretty fast.

The best!!! I literally only go to Katie’s for dessert now!!! Ice cream doesn’t cut it any longer… The service is awesome, everyone is nice and the mini burgers are so yummy, too!

Something has changed. I come through here a lot and usually the ordering process is a little bit more seamless than it has been recently. Most recently, the first person that I spoke with was unresponsive initially and even seem to have an attitude toward me at the end. Another person eventually apologized, but I still left feeling as if I had just a problem that I didn’t cause. I am still waiting outside and do not have my food. I will have to drive back around to get it.

You MUST try Katie’s if you are ever in Waco(thank me later). I’ve been meaning to try something different than what I’ve always ordered(Reece’s Cyclone), but it’s soooo good, that I can’t seem to step outside that box. The custard is rich in quality and delicious every time!

Location is lousy, prices are a bit high for the local market rate but overall the shop is really good(kind of 50’s feel to sitting out on a park bench) and the custard tastes awesome even with the drive down into the congested commercial zone of the town. Parking might be tough at times, especially backing out into a cross street. We go once a month to get our custard fix.

You can’t beat Katie’s! It is really the best in town. From the Texas turtle to the brownie Sunday and the Woah Woah burgers. Katies is a must for anyone coming to waco!

Daughter loves it, eat outside is nice but custard melts fast if hot out. Little rich for me but not bad at all !

Katie’s Frozen Custard was pretty good. It’s located in a slight strange location(right at a junction) and I thought I had driven past the location. The menu is huge and the frozen custard was great on a hot afternoon in Waco.

This place is a must have when coming through Waco! The best custard I’ve ever had! The regular vanilla is my favorite!

The custard is great. I like the«Grasshoper». Their twins on mint chocolate. Hot dogs are all beef and topped with all the traditional fixins, relish, mustard, ketchup, onions, kraut, chili and cheese. Pure cholesterol, artery clogging, diet killing American food. Great!

The husband and I went to this place to have a refreshing dessert after our lunch. It is delicious! I ordered the Caramel Pretzel Crunch and my husband got the Texas Turtle. We are coming back for more during our time in Waco. Don’t miss it because it is really good.

Katie’s Frozen Custard is soooooo good! It’s hard to not want it the next day. I had to justify having it again by saying it’s fuel for my workout the next day. Ha! Yea, sure! Whatever! Just give me this custard! Specifically: Caramel Pretzel Crunch This was HEAVEN. Pretzel bits. Actual caramel thick sauce. Made-in-house custard. Topped with made-in-house whip. I’ve said enough. Go and try it and see for yourself!

Thumbs up for the frozen custard, especially the butter pecan. It’s just a tad too sweet, but the consistency and the flavor is definitely on point. We tried the«whoa whoa» burger because of the name(sounds cool, right?), but immediately regretted the purchase after one small bite. I would say skip the burger and stick with the frozen custard!

Never had frozen custard but man this stuff is thick! Staff are friendly and can customize your custard any way you want. I felt super full afterwards though, custard is much more potent than fro yo or ice cream. But it was worth it

The BEST scoop of butter pecan I’ve ever had! In fact, better than any scoop of anything I’ve had before. The frozen custard was incredible… rich, but not overly so & perfect texture. The toasted pecans were plentiful and unbelievably good! It would be a huge mistake to visit the Waco area & miss Katie’s.

If you live in Dallas and heading to Austin area, I strongly suggest for folks to drop by this place. Location: The place is located in Waco but it’s on the way to Austin. When you enter the place it actually looks like a gas station. Lol. Anyway, parking spaces seem limited but this place does get too busy. Food: We ordered several ice cream to share among ourselves. We ordered the Straw-banana, mint chocolate cyclone, and standard sundae. Out of the three I would say the Straw-banana is my favorite. This place isn’t bad but my favorite ice cream place would still be Joe italian ice in Anaheim. Service: You order and the ice cream comes out pretty quickly. The person working the counter is nice and helped us with our order.

Best Frozen Custard I’ve Had — Worth a Stop If you are passing through Waco, Katie’s Frozen Custard is worth a stop I want to go back to have some of the best frozen custard I’ve had. The frozen custard is rich, creamy and thick. Like a soft ice cream, full of flavor. I also got a boar burger which is like a white castle but larger. Small patty on a yeast roll with a slice of fried ham, get it with pepper jack, mustard and pickles. I suggest you get a few of these because you’ll want more. Friendly service to boot I’ll be stopping at this gem every time I go to Austin.

I love Katie’s custard! They make their own butter pecan ice cream that is amazing! The seating is outside, which makes it a neat little spot if you want to just watch the car drive by on valley mills, but not so great on our bipolar windy/cold/ice days, which is why they probably have a drive thru.

I love, love, LOVE this place. Katie’s is the first place I ever tried frozen custard, and so far I have yet to find one that does this cold and creamy treat better. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, even when there’s a long line. My favorite on the menu is the pumpkin harvest cyclone(they blend a piece of pumpkin pie into vanilla custard — can you say YUM?). However, the cyclones are about twice the price of a small cup of just plain custard, so if you’re on a budget, opt for a cup and add a topping from their vast selection of candy, chocolate, nuts, and sweets. Other choices I recommend: the rocky road or turtle sundae. Honestly, though, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I come by here every time I’m in Waco, and you should too.
