Dirty. Cash only. No drinks. Is this a front for a criminal operation? They’re always out of things. No one is ever in there eating. The whole thing just smells fishy. Yes, that’s a pun.

Not sure it even rated that. A very limited menu of chicken, catfish, and shrimp and over priced. She said they ran out of tartar sauce and you even have to pay extra for it if they had it. They had no bread and the service was a little slow so we just left.

Good food sorry servive. Two people in my party. First order came out and second order came 10 minutes after the first. No drinks or water. No condiments. Out of fish and shrimp both times I’ve gone. Was giving them the benefit of the doubt but it still hasn’t improved. Will not be returning a 3rd time unless they can get there inventory and food times worked out.

I come down to WACO to visit my daughter and niece who attend BAYLOR Univ and had the good fortune to come upon this fine establishment. As the other posts advise, yes it has two dining booths and you have to order via a cut out window but it’s well worth it. The catfish was delicious and piping hot, the chicken was«outstanding» I could eat a 10 pc myself it was so dayuum good. The fries would be good if they were not battered. I also had a link sandwich which was really good too. The owner is such a nice guy, I hope he does well and stays at this location for years to come. Waco needs a real chicken joint. Oh BTW bring CASHONLY or you have to go next door to ATM and draw out the funds w/surcharge…

Found a coupon on , $ 5 for $ 2. Sounded like another alternative to other restaurants in Waco that serve catfish. Don’t expect too much from this place. First, there are only two booths to sit in and a few benches in front of a TV on the wall. The menu is clearly posted on the wall… there are two apparent menu screen shots on the site. Orders are placed through a small window next to the menus. OK… maybe I am being a bit harsh but are they a Restaurant or a take-out food service? They do not sell drinks of any kind…“you can go next door to the convenience store and buy drinks”. The coupon elicited a response that it was not the way they had intended it to be… but, «I’ll give you something else like buy one meal and the second will be half-price, or I’ll give you an extra piece of fish in each basket… say what?! Based on their pricing, the coupon would have been a better deal for them. And for price range… the«$» rating is a bit low for what you get. And they take credit cards … but whoops, the credit card machine is not working. It is not«fast food» as it took a good 25 minutes from placing the order to when it was ready. They were not busy… the people in line ahead of us got part of their order before us, but were still waiting for the rest of their order after ours was called. The food is served in a paper food basket inside a plain paper bag. I ordered two pieces of chicken and two pieces of catfish fillet. They came with a small side of greasy french fries, two slices of white sandwich bread, a jalapeño pepper, two pickle slices, two small packets of ketchup, and a small container of a sauce… My wife ordered two catish fillets and 2 shrimp… they gave her 1 extra fillet and 1 extra fried shrimp(that was for the coupon). The total was $ 24.87…bargain? I don’t think so especially since they did not have napkins or even plasticware… not even cups for water. The chicken was overcooked, the shrimp were decent but with little«Louisianna» seasoning. I can say that the catfish fillets were seasoned well. One person went to the bathroom and said they had no paper towels… guess where people have been finding paper napkins to go with their meal? I am not from Louisianna but I expected more zip to their coatings and sauce. If you want catfish you would be better off going to Catfish King.

It’s over-priced…I had two huge fried tails, it came with *looking under a slice of white bread* oh yeah, few fries… disappointed. Although the fish tails were good but… packet of ketchup and tar tar sauce… really? For less, I could get beans, coleslaw, homemade tartar sauce, green tomato relish, hushpuppies at other place.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place. I decided to visit only to notice their were maybe 3 booths, they served no drinks, the food was mediocre, and extremely overpriced. If you want good catfish, your best bet would be Catfish King.

This restaurant serves three two main items: Chicken and Catfish. But also gator! Which is the main reason my friends and I came here for lunch. At first we were taken aback by the empty and uninviting feeling of the restaurant. There are about two booths available for dining in, and the ordering counter is a small square hole in the wall. A woman poked her head out and took our orders, which took about 20 minutes to complete. There was no one in line ahead of us; we were the only ones there. We ordered fried chicken, fried catfish fillets, and fried gator. It came with bread, fries, pickles, and a pepper. The food was good, and the prices are not bad. The catfish was seasoned well; it reminded me of the Louisiana seasoning you get at the store. The chicken was seasoned with a lemon paper flavoring. The chicken pieces were big! The entire wing and legs. Gator was alright, they were cooked like little poppers. My friends and I went to the gas station next door and bought ourselves drinks and brought it back into the restaurant while we ate. It was a solid food experience, but I’m sure the presentation of the restaurant will throw some people off. I’m just glad that there is another restaurant within walking distance of Baylor!
