This is a really fun place to go with your friends! The music is always good and there is always good people and drinks! The only downside is its sooooo crowded it’s hard to get your drinks :/

Went Saturday night for piano man night. Did not meet expectations. Wife ordered mojitos and the first was good, second just ok, and third a disaster. Didn’t even include a lime and the glasses literally were smaller with each successive drink, yet cost the same each time. Friend ordered Margarita and couldn’t drink it without frowning. This after the bartender even sampled it for quality with a straw. I had bourbon and coke twice and they were fine. Then ordered a bottled beer and it was not very cold. The music was loud but not clear. Fun concept but not executed as well as it could have been. Despite a small army of bartenders making drinks, it still took forever to be served. Worse, we were at a table and they did not have anyone waiting tables so we had to go find a spot at the bar to order each round of drinks. Our table was evidently not clean — there were sticky spots on it from some previous patron’s drinks. We saw three other small groups leave after waiting a short time and after the third round was a disaster, we headed for a different spot down the street ourselves. This place has good potential and a nice concept, but the management is missing the mark in making this successful.

The dress code is soft. The bouncer is soft. The drinks were soft. Pretty sure the bartender kept looking at my boosums. Not cool. Shae out…

I chose Muddle for the site of my 21st birthday celebration and was so pleased with the experience! It was a Tuesday and, naturally, empty, so we had the place to ourselves. Eddie was serving behind the bar and I really enjoyed all of the specialty drinks and atmosphere. Modern and comfy, with music that is completely customizable to whoever is in the bar, it was a blast! Also, Eddie isn’t being paid enough. Fast, clean, talented service and expertly crafted drinks. What more could you ask for in a bartender? Myself and my group will most definitely be back to visit. Thank you for the wonderful birthday, Muddle!

A nice, big, open space with great drinks, friendly staff, live music that was spot on! There are darts, pool table, outside patio, couches, etc… Very nice… loved the atmosphere and NOSMOKE inside!

Fun, upscale bar scene!!! New, modern, nicely appointed with great signature drinks expertly made. They have live music some nights and the atmosphere is great. One of our favorite places!!!

Just not for me. The drinks left me wanting something more exciting. I would go to Dichotomy over Muddle for good drinks.

Muddle was the place to be on Halloween in Waco, and seems like it may be the current hotspot throughout the year. Located on Austin St downtown it has a prime location with other nearby bars, eateries, and specialty stores. As the name implies the bar focuses on classic cocktails and signature drinks. The bar is divided into 3 areas — the first is the main bar with a small stage featuring live music, hightop tables and chairs, and a single pool table. Walking towards the back of the main bar you follow a ramp up into another room with a smaller bar and unfinished brick walls. There’s some visible history of the building with remnants of demolished brick walls helping to provide some divisions of space in this room. Finally you walk outside to the expansive back deck. There is another small bar area providing drinks and that night there was a food truck with some tasty late-night snacking options.

The Piano Bar and free pool make this place. It is a nice Waco addition. Get the Moscow Mule. Wish they would elimate the $ 5 cover though. Note: 21 up only

I stopped in here for drinks with a friend and really liked it. They have some imaginative cocktails, and all the ones we ordered were really good. They even fresh-squeezed the grapefruit juice for my Living Legacy drink, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately their beer menu is very lackluster. I know it’s primarily a cocktail bar, but a place this upscale really should serve better beer than Shiner Bock and Coors.

Great place to see and be seen. This place gets PACKED. Lots of drink choices and signature mixed drinks, but the beer selection(particularly draft) is limited. Tons of bartenders and they are all friendly. Seth, the owner, makes the rounds and personally greets and converses with patrons. The patio area is reminiscent of something you might find on 6th street in Austin and has a food truck next to it. Live music is the norm, as well as a free all-request music video service(cool!) Not crazy about the piano man guy, but I don’t go for the purpose of listening to him anyway. Waco has needed a bar like this for a long time.

Live music, awesome bartenders, good drinks! Cannot believe how other Unilocalers give this place only a star! For the really limited nightlife of Waco, this bar definitely is one of the best. You can play darts, pool table(only one pool table argh!), or go to the patio… you won’t be disappointed. Please support local bussiness/bars like this one!

The first review is obviously from when they first opened because Muddle is the best thing to happen to downtown in a LONG time! The atmosphere, drinks and food are all top notch, not to mention the ever-changing variety of live music. All of the bartenders are incredibly friendly, quick and make the best drinks in town, even on a busy Saturday night.(Thank you Curtis for always remembering my drink of choice) I never thought Waco would get a place that classy and sophisticated while still being fun and laid back, and yet along came Muddle!

Fun bar, great atmosphere, diverse crowd, lots to do. You can shoot pool, play darts, go to the outside deck and smoke if you want, have a taco at the food truck, come inside and listen to great music. I especially like Piano Man who greets everyone who walks in the door with«new people.» Lots of people say this bar reminds them of Austin, but I think it has more of a Nashville feel. If you have to wait 5 minutes for a drink, it is because there are a lot of people having a great time and since you will probably stay 4 hours, what’s the big deal?

I had a great experience at Muddle. I’m not typically a huge fan of live music, but they had a really awesome band from Austin(can’t remember their name now) the night we went and they did a great job and played a wide range of pop(from current top 40 to 80s). We sat at the bar and the service we got was pretty standard for a busy bar on a Saturday night; I was satisfied. I can’t remember the name of the cocktail I had now, but it was extremely fresh tasting, slightly sweet with a little bit of jalapeño to add some heat. It was so good! This is a really nice addition to downtown Waco.

Great drinks and great entertainment in a nice casual atmosphere. Alan the bartender does a wonderful job and his fellow bartenders are very quick understudies. If you a whiskey drinker try the Austin Ave, which is Muddle’s spin on a Manhattan; if not, try Muddle’s own Muddle Pucker. If you get hungry, Muddle has thought of everything since there is a taco truck that prepares fresh handmade tortillas right on their back patio!!!

I gave one star because I had to… this bar is a joke, the service is terrible and it’s obvious you have to bother the staff to get service. The two cocktail waitress cleaned tables instead of getting the drink order for me and my friend. Won’t ever come to this place again.

It’s appropriate that I get to write the first review as my visit last weekend was also my first impression of this bar that opened a few weeks ago. First impressions mean a lot to me, and more importantly, customer service. The Muddle fails poorly on both. Let me say again, the Muddle fails poorly. I looked forward to the visit after hearing the live music as my brother and I and our wives approached. That anticipation fizzed quickly as several issues with the bar promptly replaced it. Most of the bartenders, with the exception of who I believe was one of the owners, must have little to no experience. Waiting five minutes at one spot to get my first drink with little help, I decided to move down to find a spot along the bar that was less crowded. The girl there took literally 9 minutes to make six drinks. They must not work for tips. There seems to have been no prep as she was cutting strawberries for each drink as she went along. Another bartender was using a muddler like a plunger in glasses with alcohol and fruit, splashing alcohol outside of the glass as he made the drink. I moved back up the bar again as there were still a few people waiting ahead of me and at the female bartender’s pace, it would have taken forever. I finally made my way to the front of the bar only for the bartender to take orders from people behind me. I noticed this poor habit several times throughout the night. Don’t expect generous pours, let along appropriate pours here. My wife’s vodka and tonic had the same amount of alcohol as my long island ice tea. This was my experience for only the first round of drinks. Fast forward 40 minutes and there I am in line waiting again. It took 10 minutes just to get up to the bar front. I stood at the bar directly in front of bartenders and not one made eye contact or took my order after five minutes, but were happy to take orders from people on either side of me and behind me. I’ve been to bars throughout Texas, this country and in numerous countries in which I’ve never received such poor service. There was definitely a younger Baylor crowd, but also a mix of older people there. I can’t help but think an element of discrimination based on age was present. Certainly, a lack of common courtesy when it comes to customer service. Needless to say, as I stood there and they continued to neglect me right in front of the bar, belly against the bar, I was fuming and decided to leave immediately. I’ll never go back to this bar and hope others who are beyond the latest college gossip heed this warning. The owners need to take appropriate steps to train their staff on service.
