One of the pumps was faulty and spewed gasoline all over me while I stood next to it… about an extra gallon or so. I went inside, explained what happened, what the overage was, and told the lady behind the counter that I was covered in fuel and was on my way to an event and needed something to clean myself up with.
She rolled her eyes and said «Well what do you want me to do about it?» Classy.
The Cefco in West had a similar problem a couple years back. I was refunded $ 5, given a roll of paper towels to clean myself with in their bathroom, and since they had a car wash, they gave me a free premium car wash to clean the gasoline off my car.
Valero’s staff should learn some compassion… and the owner should maintain their pumps properly.
