Just passing through on the way to Myrtle Beach and found Oliver’s on Unilocal. It was even better than the five star descriptions! Would consider driving an hour just to come eat at Oliver’s!

Very good lunch and desert. I had the garden salad with chicken and it was very good. Chicken was moist and hot. We also had the Apple Cranberry pie al la mode. Wow. Very good. A new favorite place for lunch.

When we entered Oliver’s, we were immediately enchanted by the nostalgic environment. It is located in one of the many beautiful old buildings on Wade Street. The original tin ceiling is intact, and the big windows lend an air of openness and refinement. Plus, now they are able to offer outdoor seating, which adds to the ambiance My friend and I had just come from The Southern Medley Wine Cellar, so we were quite hungry. We ordered the fried mushrooms. These were honest to goodness fresh mushrooms in a light, crispy coating that featured no grease, served along a side of Ranch dressing. We also had some of the best pimento cheese and hummus in the world, accompanied by pita bread and assorted vegetables. For dinner, my friend ordered the shrimp and grits. It featured local grits which probably came from Anson Mills, and topped with a delightful scatter of bacon. I ordered the pasta with vegetables in a cream sauce. Those veggies were very fresh, and there was an abundance of bow tie pasta. It came with a generous salad and(sigh) garlic bread. Wine from The Southern Medley was also featured, as well as other brands. Of course, we ordered a Southern Medley red. Eat and drink local offerings! This restaurant is clearly the star in Wadesboro’s crown. The whole uptown should have equally outstanding restaurants and boutiques. So many beautiful old buildings unoccupied. My challenge to Wadesboro is to frequent local establishments such as Oliver’s and The Southern Medley. And, encourage entrepreneurship in this town which has much potential.

Great food and service. Grit fritters! Hidden gem in downtown Wadesboro. Support local establishments! Ask for the singing waitress.

We stopped at Oliver’s for the first time on a trip back from Charlotte. This was the only non chain restaurant in a long stretch of road that had any appeal. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was very pleasant and clean. Good food for the money. Menu choices are limited but understandable for the market. Will definitely come back on future trips to/from Charlotte.

Had a great lunch at Oliver’s. Had the fried pickles for an appetizer and the cowboy burger special. Unlike the other reviewer I enjoyed the homemade chips, but they are a little thicker than most restaurants. Next time I’m in Wadesboro, I’ll be eating here again!

Great place to eat. A true local charm that everyone should try out. And the owners are stand up as well!

Just not at all impressed with the one lunch we had here. And… be sure to avoid the home made«chips».
