The subs were huge and so good. It’s hard to make a decision right there. We got Adam Samdom sandwich that’s the most popular and a roast beef one and that was really good as well. The customer service was ok.

Ahha amazing sandwiches ! A definite must stop if heading to north shore or the dole plantation. Sandwiches come in half size or whole size. Whole size is shareable between two people. This place is probably a little pricier than subway but it’s definitely better. It may take a little longer to get your sandwich too but your patience will pay off. I got the vegetarian sandwich but the rest of my crew got meat ones and they were equally satisfied. There’s also a lot of people with pictures of lemonade. They don’t sell any lemonade here. But if you walk two stores over there’s a lemonade shop haha. I would highly recommend this place for any one in the area.

Killer subs! Come here only if your hungry, or want to feed a small nation! They don’t skip on the portions. And I love them for it!

This is not my first sub at this place and I’ve had problem twice already. Asked for a dressing on a side for my pick up order and when I drove home didn’t find it in the bag. Sucks when you tip someone $ 5 for making 2half subs and they are not double checking your order to make sure everything is there. When I called to let them know the lady just said ok, thank you! Just a suggestion: Please check your pick up orders. Nobody wants to drive back for a dressing!!! Just disappointing…

Hearty sub sandwiches with creative names and combos with choices of cheese, veggies, and sauces(mayo, mustard, dressing). I had the papaya seed dressing, which was quite tasty on my Cloud Break sub. Can’t say much for the bread; it wasn’t special or different, more like a sub sized hamburger bun that was soggy by the time I got home(20 minutes). Meh! Staff don’t smile or look particularly happy to be there, though they are efficient enough. A smile would go a long way, people!

Wow, I’m impressed. I initially thought, what can be so special about a sandwich? Well let them prove you fricken wrong lol! Luckily my 9yo daughter found this hole in the wall after seeing a special on tv. My daughter spent a few days begging me to take her as I said«but why? it’s just a sandwich…» fortunately for her(and for the rest of us) we were passing through wahiawa when she screamed«there it is!!» So being the BEST awesomest mommy ever… I agreed to take her so we can try this«sandwich» she kept raving about. First when I walked in I noticed there were lots of famous people who came through here. It was a simple shop layout, almost too simple for this«famous amazingly delicious sandwich» but it works for them so no big deal, just don’t let the looks of this place fool you. The lady there was fantastic! She told me the most popular sandwich(i think it was the adam sando) and that’s the one I ordered! She was super sweet and I watched as they created this hugemongous of a sandwich lol! Holy cow, my mistake of buying a whole yard long sandwich lol, half would’ve fed my family of 4 just fine lol but I shouldn’t complain because we could’ve had seconds for later. Noticed I said«could’ve?» Anyways I took the sandwich to go and started devouring it in the car lol, I didn’t want to share, not even with my kids(or my 9yo that suggested this place) shame on mom. From the bread to the freshness of the meats to the sauce. Omg it’s NOTJUST A SANDWICH! I swear they use some sort of crack sweet bread, I love sprouts(not just lettuce like subway yuck), and the sauce… THESAUCE! I think it’s some kind of papaya seed dressing concoction, if they ask u which dressing, just say ALL! LOL! Anyways let me get back to why I said«could’ve had seconds for later»… it’s because we got this sandwich the day we were leaving to japan in plans to bring it on our flight… well I forgot half of the sandwich in our fridge and boy did I hear it from the whole family during that 9 hour flight. I called my brother who was housesitting to eat it and he enjoyed every single bite. Conclusion, this is NOTJUST A SANDWICH and worth driving too! Luckily for me there’s another location in Aiea, I’ll be visiting regularly! 2 thumbs up!

They got the classics and then island specials. I had the Adam Sandler inspired sandwich and it was awesome. With fresh avocados and papaya dressing. It was so refreshing and a great value. The half subs are so big so I would definitely recommend getting half, because the full subs must be almost a foot and half long.

Delicious subs! Can get busy so expect a wait. But I think it’s worth it. Best sub place I’ve had on the island. My husband loves the papaya seed dressing. Parking sucks, but hey it’s Hawaii.

Adam Sando is a fantastic sandwich. So good that it’s the only one I’ve ever ordered. Their cupcakes are to die for… the frosting is light and not too sweet and the cake is moist and flavorful. Great customer service and prices are good. I love this place.

So, I read a lot that this place was fast like subway that’s a lie. I have been waiting for 20 mins for my half turkey and provolone sub. Not to mention I waited 5 – 7 minutes to order and I was third in line. In fact the person in front of me left because it was taking so long. I think I’m starting to regret that $ 2 tip I gave! How hard is it to put already cut meat on bread? There’s 3 people making sandwiches and they’re making a sandwich every ten minutes! Okay, so it took me 30 mins of waiting to get my simple sandwich. The two ladies behind me got their sandwiches before me! Now I don’t want to assume the worst but I’m guessing it’s because they were the same race as the owners. Anyways, I support local business and would rather spend a few more dollars there as opposed to subway. But in all honesty with the amount of time it took and the fact that they skipped my sandwich I will not be going back. I was the 3rd person to order! It’s not like there was 7 people in front of me. About the sandwich. Bread is too thick for the little amount of meat they put in the sandwich. They lack condiments and are over priced for that matter. Subway is probably a better place for options, time, and money. This sub is NOTHING special!

I love their sandwiches here! I have been here a few times last year, and would usually see the owners each time I came in. The first time a friend of mine and I came was after the gym and we raved about how good their sandwiches, and came here a few times that the owners remembered us. They are friendly and personable, and greeted me each time I would come in and out. I loved their sandwiches so much, I brought my friends and co-workers as well! They even remember the sandwich that I get. I recently came in this week with my boyfriend. Service was meh, could have been better. The employee in front was stern with us. I could understand getting annoyed when customers do not read the fine print in front of them, but some walking in are new. And besides, the only display they have of the detailed menu is a print out taped on the counter. I was as friendly as I could be. For me, the service was a turn-off, but the quality of the sandwiches do make up for it. Their sandwiches are a tad pricy, but so worth it. For their speciality sandwiches, they have unique names for them such as the Diamond Head, Waikiki, Adam Sando etc. They use a deli white bread which is thick and very tasty. The choices of veggies are limited(lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, bean sprouts) and dressing(papaya seed dressing, honey mustard and Italian dressing) and comes with the typical mustard and mayo. It’s similar to Subway, except Subway has more options with their sandwiches. I usually get their Diamond Head Sandwich(Pepperoni, Salami and Turkey) with everything but bean sprouts and choice of papaya seed dressing with mayo and mustard — I love the combo Pepperoni and Salami, my favorite meats. I also tried the Meatball Marinara once; it’s very comforting and filling, that I got full by the time I reached half of the sandwich. Parking is street parking. We passed there twice, but the parking lot for Surfers Coffee Bar, Killer Tacos and other businesses along that trip. They do take cash, and credit/debit cards.

Welp, to show good this place is, I opened up a Unilocal account! I don’t normally do restaurant reviews, even when I go out adventuring with friends who do Unilocal reviews. But today was different. Today I had to take the time to review this place! This delightful little hole in the wall sandwich place is located next to Surfer’s Café and is right down from Aloha Lemonade. Parking is a bit of a pain but it is worth it honestly once you step inside. We were greeted right away and the nice gentleman taking our order(I am assuming he’s Owner) remembered my boyfriend from his first visit and asked how he was doing since they last saw one another. It was nice to see him taking the time to talk to my boyfriend and treat him as a friend too! He further surprised me by asking me how I was doing today and asked if it was my first time here to which I replied it was. He recommend a few sandwiches that were popular along with some of his favorites and informed me of how pricing went. He talked to us and was so very friendly while we ordered so much so that I had to wonder why I had never ever come here before. I decided for my first sandwich to go with the Hawaii 5 – 0 half sub and let me tell ya that thing was huge! It far surpasses Subway sandwiches in terms of taste and size! The footlong of a Subway sandwich can in no way even begin measure how massive this thing was! I happily devoured one half of my sandwich and packed up the rest to take home with me! I ordered it along with lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, onion, mayo, honey mustard and their papaya seed dressing! I know, papaya seed dressing isn’t usually on a sandwich much less offered with one but I gotta say it surely complimented the sandwich well! I totally love the feeling of being an old friend or family welcomed and I would definitely make it a point to come here as often as I can from Waianae to here!

We passed this place twice trying to find it so don’t get frustrated if it takes you a couple of times, but it’s right next to the Surfers Café utilizing the same parking lot and street parking that Café Olive uses. Aloha Sub was a great surprise to me, it had been recommended to me by Unilocal!itself so I decided to poke my head in and check the place out. This review will be split into the usual categories. Restaurant Space: The cleanliness of the space gets a pass from me, the space is clean and well lit. Staff & Service: The staff here is great, really personable and enjoyable to talk to. They must have thanked us about 6 or 7 times just for walking in in the first place. The service is also fast here(or it was for us), my sandwich flew out of the prep area almost as soon as I sat down. Food Quality: The food quality here is great, they seem to use fresher produce than other sandwich shops in the area and the flavors were amazing, I almost ordered it without the papaya seed dressing because it sounded a bit odd just as an idea but the flavor was amazing. Subway or Aloha Subs?: This is really going to be the question on a lot of people’s minds so I’ll address it directly. The only things that Subway holds over this place are parking access and customization, the latter being Subway’s USP in the first place. Compared to Subway I believe that the meat here had more of a characteristic flavor, the produce is stored better and has a greater flavor(Subway uses HPC Foods, a great resource but Subway doesn’t seem to store it properly). Subway’s sandwiches, to me, I just eat to satiate my hunger, but Aloha Subs was a much better.. . mouth experience.. . that sounds weird.. . but it’s true.…don’t judge me.… Anyway, for all of the above Aloha Subs has earned my 5 star review! I will be back, for sure, and I recommend that you give it a try as well even if parking is a bit hard to find.

I just realized when I wrote the Kalihi Aloha Sub review that I still hadn’t wrote this one. What was I thinking! When I walked in this location with my daughter it was like coming to see family. The lady working the counter was talking to my daughter about desserts and helped me make a sandwich that a crazy, dramatic 4 year would love. We spoke with her a few minutes and she asked my daughter what she wanted to be when she grew up. She of course responded a country music singer and a teeth cleaner(dental hygienist). The lady asked her to sing a song for her. She was so attentive and kind. I recommend the Adam Sando. It’s my favorite sandwich here. Check out the papaya seed dressing because it’s truly a masterpiece.

Best. Sandwich. Ever. This place is so bomb. I’m going to start off with the cons: hard parking and long lines. Pros: everything else. The sandwich was about as long as my arm. The sandwich was as thick as a Portuguese sausage. I got the Kelly Slater one. They have funny names for their items but seriously, better and more fresh than subway. The price isn’t that bad either, I’m not even 100% sure if it is cheap or expensive because I got treated, but besides that it out matches subway by 3.7 times. If you like a sandwich made as good as your wife/gf but it’s as fresh as your garden, go here!

Ok Jared, i’ve been a loyal customer of Subway for quite some time now, but after my Sub Sandwich experience at Aloha Sub in Wahiawa yesterday, it’s time for me to move on to greener pastures. Aloha Sub is located in Wahiawa near Molly’s Smokehouse and parking is available on the side streets or if you are just gonna grab a sub to go, just park in the Jack in the Box parking lot(shhhhh) and head on over to the shop. I love the surf theme here at Aloha Sub. I also love the fact that they honor the famous athlete’s that went to Leilehua such as Al Harris and Adrien Murrell and other stars on their wall. Most of their Sub Sandwiches are named after Surf Spots all around the islands and also serve salads and regular sandwiches as well. I also might want to add that they have some killer cupcakes that are reasonably priced and always seem to sell out each and every day. But the reason for me coming here are for the Sub Sandwiches and let me tell you folks, they do a really good Sub Sandwich here. So good that i came here yesterday and came again today because it left a memorable impression on me the day before. I will tell you this, if your are going to order a Whole Sub Sandwich, you better be sharing it with at least one or two people. The Whole Sub Sandwiches here are so HUGE i have never seen anything this big since watching Ron Jeremy and John Holmes do their thing back in the days. The Bread they use are so soft and pillowy and the Papaya Seed dressing that they smother all over the bread is the nail in the coffin. Yesterday i had the Whole Rock Pile Sub Sandwich $ 15.96 which includes Pastrami, Ham, Roast Beef, with the works and after unwrapping the pink butcher paper to see what was inside made my jaw drop to the ground like seeing the Ring Girl Arianny Celeste walk out of the UFC cage. There was no way in hell that i was gonna devour this whole Sandwich by myself and it was almost comical thinking that one man can finish this mammoth of a Sub sandwich. So i gave it a shot being that this sandwich was cut into four sections and i actually ate three of the four parts of the sandwich but i felt like i got a beat down by Manny Pacquiao after eating it. I was staggering for the couch after eating the Rock Pile and had Kanack Attack fever afterwards. As for the Sandwich, it was simply amazing in taste and flavor. I love the combination of all three deli meats and with the lettuce, sprouts, tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions with the Papaya Seed dressing lathered all over it. The Bun was so soft to chew on it was pure heaven sinking my teeth into this masterpiece of a sandwich. I was already thinking about what i was going to eat the next day becasue when i like something that much, i want to give it another shot and that’s just what i did. The next day which happens to be today, i had the most popular sandwich on the menu which is called the Adam Sando: Half $ 9.95 Whole $ 19.90 This Sandwich is made with Turkey, Bacon, Avocado, Mayo, Honey Mustard and the famous Papaya Seed Dressing. I had the half and let me tell you, it was just as good if not better than the Rock Pile i had yesterday. Each and every bite of this Adam Sando Sandwich had me grinning with delight from left to right. Now besides the great sandwiches that they serve here, the people who run the business, i don’t know if it’s a family business because i saw the father, mother, and daughter working today and greeted me with a smile as soon as i walked in the door, but that right there made me feel right at home and let me tell you, they are so friendly like you are a part of their ohana and that’s why i’ll be back because they truly take pride in how they make their sandwiches and they do it with a lot of love just by watching them go to work. Being that this place is in Wahiawa near the Army Base, they do get very busy during the lunch hours and lucky for me as soon as i got my sandwich to go, you could see quite a few people in their army uniforms making a beeline for this establishment. I’m truly happy i bumped into this place and it always piqued my interest everytime i passed this place while i always go to Sunnyside or Kilani Bakery and now i have another option in Wahiawa when i have a craving for a killer Sub Sandwich. Just remember my fellow yeeps, you can create your sandwich anyway you like here. And the menu here is quite vast and i’m very sure there is something here that you will wanrt to indulge in. So if you are in the Wahiawa area looking for an awesome Sub Sandwich, look no further than coming to Aloha Sub of Wahiawa. ADDRESS: 55 S. Kamehameha Hwy PHONENUMBER: 808−799−5799

These sandwiches are very delicious and very large! Thanks Unilocal for leading me here. Their most popular sandwich is the Adam Sando that includes turkey, bacon and avocado as well as the fixings. They serve a half($ 9.95 for this particular sandwich) or a whole($ 19.90). While the pricing is higher than other chain sub joints, this sandwich has more flavor and is larger in size. The second time I went here, there was a little too much mayo, but that is more of a personal preference. I would say overall the pricing is still a little high for a sandwich even though it’s a larger size and better quality but good enough to return. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. They have a case with desserts and many types of cupcakes(I haven’t tried any yet though). Street parking in front on Kamehameha Hwy near Molly’s and Jack in the Box.
