Worst drive through service. Slowest in the state.
2 order windows but they never use both. What’s the point.
Clearly management don’t care about the ridiculously long wait because nothing has changed over the past year.

I’m not usually one to leave a review, but I gotta say this is the slowest drive-​thru I’ve ever been in. If your gonna be slow at least have some kind of customer service. No hello, no goodbye just my total and my food given to me not even with a smile. One manager out in the lobby eating an icecream and employees walking around cleaning. Don’t the customers come first?

Thanks for your hospitality, McDonalds. We had a very unpleasant experience with a local taco place last night, so your willingness to make a specialty, off menu item with a smile was such a nice turn-​around.

As of July 27 2015 this location will no longer be 24 hours. Drive thru will only be open till midnight and they will re open at 5am

This is the slowest McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. Not even worth it. Hire more help or at least friendlier help if it’s going to take over ten minutes to get your order.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I went through the drive-​thru because there were only 2 other cars in line. Got my food only to find that I was missing an item. So I drove back and went inside to the counter. I am the only one at the counter and I get no acknowledgment or greeting. When I FINALLY get someone’s attention, she looks at me like I’m bothering her. As she get’s my missing item, she tosses it onto the counter and rolls her eyes at me! Hey! If you don’t want to be there, then get out! Don’t take it out on me! This place has severely gone down hill in the past year. Customer service is severely lacking. The only time when service is even remotely better is when the owner is on site. He needs to retrain his employees in customer service or fire everyone and hire new employees who are happy to have a job!

Terrible! They have two order windows for nothing! They only use one. The lines are ridiculously long! Sit in a drive thru for 20 – 30 minutes, i could have went to zippys and dined in and got my food faster. The workers seem tired and moody. Dont get me wrong there are a few very happy pleasant workers. Fries are always stale. They need better management, more employees and need to be trained to work under pressure.

Always forgetting orders, every single time I’ve been there. It smells inside the store as well as out, a sort of sour smell; nasty. My favorite, I love to be served ATTITUDE while paying for my food, does this store not teach them the basics of customer service? Drive thru wait time is ridiculous and if you go in to order, you’ll be there for a while. Overall, I gave up on this McDonalds. I will willingly drive to Nanakuli for their friendly service in a much faster manner.

I had to actually wait on my food to be cooked! Hello! That’s awesome! That means it would be fresh… and it was! Have you ever heard of such a thing at McDonald’s? How cool is this???
And OMG… Taro pies are back! I just know they had me in mind when they brought these back. Thank You!!! They are apply to the thigh delicious!!!

This review is coming a bit late as I was here back in September when I flew to Hawaii for a new position I took.
The food was always fresh here and hadn’t been sitting under a heat lamp for too long, but it was probably because they were always SOOOO busy! I went every morning for an Egg McMuffin and Iced Coffee and I don’t think I made it through the drive-​thru in under 15 minutes.
I’m still giving it four stars though — Don’t get me wrong, I hate waiting, but the thing I hate more than waiting is getting food that has been under a heat lamp for too long! :)

Sometimes it is busy and other times there’s hardly anyone in the fast food restaurant. Some nights you’ll see a notice saying «We have NO SHAKES & ICE CREAM at this time.» Other times it will be «CASH ONLY CREDIT CARD MACHINE DOWN.»
On the nights that McDonald’s is busy is when the drive thru has a line going towards Farrington Hwy blocking the driveway to the lumber and hardware store while the customers ordering inside have to wait for 20 minutes or longer for their food.
On one of my walk in visits just once one of the employees told me «I know what you want… a Big Mac» I shake my head YES. «Diet» I shake my head NO. «Coke» I shake my head YES.“Large” I shake my head NO. Now that’s customer service if I don’t have to say a single word.

Came here on a hot and smelly day. Yes smelly outside don’t know what it is but it brought the flies inside. It was horrible. Made you not want to eat but I just came here for the girl toys. Since my girl was collecting them. It was awesome that they had all of the animals not like most McD’s that only carry 2 at a time. The employee that was very helpful and awesome was Allice. She took her time and looked for all the toys. And yup she found it. So pretty much the 3 stars is for her. Would have been 5 if there was no flies all around the restaurant I mean all over. Flying on me, employee, customers (which they didn’t mind), windows and probably the food. That was a day that should not be «let’s eat at McD’s. Ha ha ha ha
Will I go back sure just to make sure I’m going inside to check for flies. Plus the drive thru is always packed.

Counter person had no idea what seltzer water was and didn’t listen when I explained that it is plain, unflavored carbonated water. And they don’t have the $ 1 any size drink. What is up with that?! Haleiwa and now Waianae don’t offer the $ 1 any size drink…
Poor service!

Even though the line of cars goes all the way around the building it is still faster than going inside where there are two people in line. While in line behind one person, a lady comes up complaining about her filet o fish having the cheese stuck to the box instead of in the sandwich. Someone else comes up complaining about their burger. I made a comment about the long wait and checked my order before leaving… it was correct and done correctly.

Worst drive thru on the island. Usual wait time is around 20 to 30 minutes in the morning on the weekends. It might be better to walk in, but that’s if you can find parking. In addition to a long wait time, they almost always get my order wrong. One time after checking my bag, I noticed that my hash brown was missing from my egg mcmuffin meal. When I told the worker, he was like «did you order a hash brown?». Uh yeah, I ordered the «meal» which comes with a hash brown. ??
The last time I came though really solidified how bad they are. The drive thru wasn’t as long, but the two teenage workers in the drive thru were terrible. I ordered hot cakes with my order and the workers seemed confused when I showed them that they weren’t in the bag. They told me to park on the side because they «think» they’re making them. After waiting 15 minutes I went in to ask about my order. The manager asked all of the workers and no one knew anything about it even though it was on my receipt. So they basically forgot. Wth?!
Here’s some advice, don’t put young inexperienced workers in the drive thru during your busiest times — breakfast on the weekends. All Mcdonalds are busy in the morning, but this restaurant is by far the worst.

Drive thru super slow… They should have more staff working to speed up the process over here!! Oops I forgot they only work one speed over here and that’s 5^th gear CRUZ MODE…

Waianae McDonald’s has to step up their game because they are the only McDonald’s near the heart of Waianae and closest to Makaha.
IMO they are the worst McDonald’s on the island! The ice cream machine is always broken, the French fries is consistently soggy and the drive thru is super slow.
Everyone goes to McDonald’s for the familiarity of the menu and the fries!!! The fries are the best out of all the fast food joints. Also how can the ice cream machine be consistently down? Waianae is hot and dry and people want a nice cold shake or a soft serve ice cream cone when the heat is on!

The wait is way too long, they mess up on the orders way to frequently, however the customer service is great. I ordered a sausage biscuit, a parfait, and a fruit punch. I was given a fruit punch and an oatmeal. I don’t even eat oatmeal, when I got to work is when I noticed the mess up. I called mc Donald’s and they came to my job to replace my order. Can’t get better than that! Rule of thumb… check your order before you leave the window!

It’s McDonald’s! Everything is standardized. It’s a good place to grab something quick to eat. I like the Jack in the Box breakfasts better, but McD’s latte is better. Once i even got breakfast at JITB, walked to McD’s for a latte, then walked to the beach for an al fresco breakfast!
I rarely eat anything other than breakfast at McDs. Everything else is overloaded with carbs, so greasy and ground up! Oatmeal is the healthier option, served all day. The bacon is sliced so thinly, you can read the newspaper through it! A serving of eggs looks like it’s only one egg. If you’re craving protein, there are better places to get it.
Service does tend to be slow, but I find it is at many «fast» food places anymore. But here it seems especially slow. To avoid looking like some hyper tourist, I just wait patiently but I don’t go there often, either.
BTW, that photo is outdated. The place has been renovated and looks entirely different.
