Chose this location for a special anniversary. The service was poor, unfriendly, indifferent. The food was uninspiring. I expected to overpay due to the location but even so, was worse than expected.

Enjoyed the food very much. I had a quinoa mushroom«risotto» which was creamy and delicious. My salad had some taro chips which made it interesting and crunchy. Everyone at the table ate everything on their plate, including the kids. Their bread basket was also very good.

Honestly compared to the other dining options on the island this was massively underwhelming in both food and service. First of all the hotel is like Disney land and you have to take a boat or tram to get there — ok. We got the seafood platter which was supposed to be lemongrass poached shrimp, oysters and lime poke. There was no lemongrass flavor at all to the shrimp — was basic shrimp cocktail and the poke had no lime or sauce for that matter at all! Even at a nice restaurant if they charged $ 4 each — you got 3 shrimp 3 oysters and maybe two bites of poke. Then came the mains, I didn’t want one after the appetizer experience so I got more poke as my main. Still no sauce or lime and there was something hard in it so disgusting. My fiancé got the $ 822 lb lobster. We were lucky if it was 1 lb. Def not 2lb. This sounds like a joke but if you want to save some money go to the four seasons much much better quality MUCH larger portion and $ 30 cheaper! Ferrel cats roaming the outdoor patio. Overall super underwhelming experience and would never go back. Please save yourself some time, money and disappointment and go elsewhere!!!

Wow what a mistake! I ordered a local 2lb. Keahole lobster for $ 82. I expected a local pacific spiny lobster but when it came to the table my wife who is from Hawaii pointed out it was a maine lobster that was already split open and had claw meat sitting on top. Very disappointing and deceptive. They are taking advantage of the unknowing tourist. hau’oles. We gave it one star because of the awesome sunset view. If dining there don’t expect food grown locally as we were told by restaurant management that they could not guarantee that.

I’m giving this 2 stars because of the great view when dining outside and the knowledgable and polite waitress we had. Beyond that… the food was pretty bad. My wife ordered the braised short ribs. What she got was a very well done block of tough leather that she had to take a saw to. I ordered the Cowboy ribeye. What I got was a very dry ½ inch thick steak on the bone. I ordered medium rare, got medium instead. But even that would’ve been acceptable. However I was surprised at just how thin and dry the meat was. I ordered the corn polenta. What I got was a lump of very tasteless and dry corn mash. A dozen different things could’ve been done to that side to at least make it palatable. Oh well. If the steak was only 20 or even 30 dollars, I’d probably just have to bite my tongue and just accept that you get what you pay for. But this was 61 dollars. For that money they should be recruiting their chefs from some other place than the local McDonald’s.

Not impressed. Yes the sunset was gorgeous, but you can sit and watch it anywhere on the property. The food was grossly overpriced for mediocre quality. I had the short rib; the sauce was way too salty and the Mac and cheese that accompanied it was ok, not remarkable. For dessert I had the sweet potato Haupia bar, which again was ok, but definitely not a $ 12 dessert. Overall, the service was good, the view is great, but wouldn’t waste my money on the food here again. For a high end restaurant at a nice resort such as this one I expect to get a certain level of food. This place did not deliver.

Had an amazing dinner at KPC! Sunset and atmosphere was wonderful. Didn’t have to pay the 25 dollar outdoor fee which was nice. Overall this is a great place for a romantic dinner! Expect to pay around 60 bucks a person.

Started out bad and never got better. Disclosure I had a reservation but they put me in the courier next to server area. Server took 10 minutes to greet me even though he passed my table 4 times. Then when he greeted me he only got me water. Couple that was walk in got drinks and apps before I saw my waiter. It took 12 minutes to get him back to take my order. I was told about no specials until I asked. Menu was similar to high end steak house. Bread was cold and served only with some sort of olive spread. Nothing special on the menu. Very over priced for the quality. I don’t think I have ever walked out of a restaurant without ordering anything.

Everything was great from the service, atmosphere to the food. Our waiter was very attentive to the needs of our children and went out of his way to prepare drinks and food for easy consumption by children. We have eaten at many different places in the area and I would consider this the best food but expensive for an entire family. It is worth doing at least one night. Ask to sit outside so you have a perfect view of the sunset.

We didn’t have a reservation so I was willing to wait 30 minutes, but we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The waiter did not come since he was busy and gave us minimal service. The lobster was overpriced but the steak was delicious. We asked for validation for parking($ 15 for 2 – 3 hrs) only to find out as we tried to use the ticket that it was a used one from a month before. Such a pity having bad service at a nice restaurant.

I wouldn’t bother. Went there because it was our hotel. Should have driven elsewhere. Oh well. Lesson learned.

There is no doubt about how good the position of this restaurant is for a fiery Hawaiian sunset. Almost every table will have there camera’s clicking. The wait staff are pretty accommodating and will assist you getting that ‘perfect’ shot. Then there’s the food & drinks! KPC have an extensive wine and cocktail list that will ensure your in the right mood for your dining experience. We tried the chef’s special Snapper with King Crab and also the 2 lb grilled lobster. Both meals were pretty good. This is a very romantic spot and we actually witnessed a proposal made against the molten sunset. I’m pretty sure she said ‘yes’. Hard not too in front of 100 cheering patrons. A nice night had by all.

Ate here for dinner with my wife for a romantic night on our honeymoon. We opted for a premium table, right on the water which was definitely worth it for unobstructed views. The entire patio looked great as well though. If the weather is good there is no bad place to sit outside. We had the chefs special appetizer, pork belly and lobster tail which was amazing. Next had the lobster bisque, also delicious. For the main course I went for the chefs special again which was lobster tail and Opah filet with veggies and a butter Sriracha cream sauce. Awesome! For desert we could decide so we got a sampler of marshmallow cheesecake, chocolate cake, purple potato ice cream and strawberry shortcake. Strawberry shortcake was a bit sweet for me but they were all great. My favorites were the cheesecake and chocolate. Chocolate was more of a bitter dark chocolate which I prefer. The only slight negative(would knock the review to a 4.5 instead of 5) is the restaurant could do a better job of limiting non-diners from walking through, lingering by tables and taking sunset pictures. There is a path right through the patio and many resort guests were passing through in bathing suits to take sunset pics which kind of took away from what otherwise felt like an exclusive, luxury 5 star experience.

We had a delicious and scenic meal here. Pricey, yes, because you’re sort of a captive audience, but there was much to enjoy. We were at the Hilton Waikoloa for a long weekend at the end of May. Called the restaurant a couple hours before sunset and asked for a table for four — no problem getting lanai seating just before sunset as every group in the place was outside. That said, even the indoor tables looked nice, but we were glad to be outdoors. We made our reservation about 15 minutes before sunset, so we saw the sun slip below the horizon with our drinks and then had sunset color through our first course. There’s a link to sunset times on their website, or just google it. We did the prix fixe, because of course. We ain’t Rockefellers(though we do prefer to eat like them). I had the ahi tataki appetizer, the short rib and mac & cheese, and the chocolate cake. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Maybe a bit too unobtrusive since we had to inquire after a delayed glass of wine. The ahi was delicious — and I love the little Israeli-couscous-sized crunchy balls scattered on top. No idea what they’re called, but they’re fun! The main was also delicious, though I wound up gobbling it down after settling down a fussy infant inside the restaurant(yeah yeah, we’re THOSE people, whatevs — I evacuated at the first sign of noise to keep from spoiling others’ experience. But don’t sweat it, parents, the crowd was a big mix of families and couples, and I didn’t get any stink eye from fellow diners.). Anyhow. The star of the show(besides the view) was the dessert. Normally I wouldn’t order a chocolate cake — I’m a crème-brulee or lilikoi-anything kind of gal. But, that’s what the prix-fixe option was, so I’d make do. But! I would do more than make do, because wow, was this tasty! Lots of textures and flavors. There was crunchy, there was creamy, there was nutty, there was fruity, and everything in balance; it all fit. Easy to recommend, especially if you’re staying on property.

My wife and I dined here for dinner wanting to catch the sunset from their lanai. First wrinkle is the $ 25 per person fee to reserve a table on the lanai. We skipped the fee and requested a lanai table with our reservation using our Makai concierge and lucked out. Second wrinkle was the high wind that evening. Nothing blew away but it was touch and go for a while out there. When the sun actually sets, it gets quite busy out there. People are getting up and down from their table for photos and more are showing up on the sidewalk for their own photos. Not really a problem for us but something to keep in mind. Our table was perfect and it really is amazing to dine outdoors under the brilliant starry sky without getting eaten alive by bugs. My wife selected their special that evening of lobster and ahi. I went with our server’s recommendation of the Ginger Steamed Monchong. She struggled to finish hers due to the large portions but thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not a seafood eater by nature but loved the Monchong. It was flakey, light and not overly fishy tasting. The sauce was wonderful and really added to the experience. Nothing caught our eye on their dessert menu even if my wife did have room left for it. Service was OK but several times my water glass went empty for a while and at other times we couldn’t find our server when we needed something. Wasn’t bad enough to scare us away for a future visit but could have been much better and expected at this price point.

Our last night in Waikoloa could of not been more perfect… well it could have… Our last minute decision took us to the Kamuela Provision Company. Without a reservation and 15 minutes after they opened we hoped we were early enough to be seated before everyone came for dinner. I have read in many reviews about the $ 25 upcharge for premium outdoor seating. This was never brought to our attention. Maybe after asking the room number certain patrons receive privileges. To me that is wrong. This restaurant is awesome but at a high price tag for just dinner alone. $ 25 dollars per person to sit by the south wall or even worse on ‘sidewalk’ for that premium view, but where everyone walks by, is over the top. We were escorted straight to the south wall with an unobstructed view of the sunset. I have to mention that the evening a couple days before… we were taken outside and ask were we wanted to sit. It was our choice. So again the $ 25 for those that are told they will be charged for premium seating is by far not fair. The young man that brought our water was friendly with a smile and seemed happy to take our photos at our request(not like the other young man a few days before. He cleared out table and filled our water glasses like we were not even there) We started with the seared Ahi and it was again wonderful. We know they brought out warm bread so my husband asked for gluten free bread for me. We each received our own bread basket. They serve Undi’s White but I was pleasantly surprised it was also soft and warm like the traditional bread. Our server was great. I was debating between two dishes. He explained both and clearly was not steering to the more expensive one. The dish that cost less was a local fish so he suggested this one. You know sometime you have that instinct like you should go with the other choice but… for some reason you do not listen and it backfires? The local fish I had was good and it was severed on a Lobster Risotto which I did not care for… and I love rice. I understand it was a ‘wet’ Risotto but it lacked flavor and was pretty ‘pasty’. I had to add salt to bring out any flavor. Took away two stars for that. Risotto since it was a big part of my dish.. I was sooo disappointed with this and could not finish the Risotto. My husband had their version of ’ Surf ‘n Turf ‘. The filet mignon and grilled lobster were perfectly prepared. Both very tender and melt in your mouth. We usually do not order dessert but tonight we could not resists the ‘award wining’ dessert on the menu. I recommend it highly… ok I gave a star back for this dessert. Kamuela Provision Company is on the high end of expensive but worth the experience… at least once

Ambiance 5 stars –absolutely breathtaking and romantic however it still can’t save the food 2 stars and service 3 stars. We had reservations for 3 at sunset on a Saturday. It wasn’t overly crowded as there were empty tables to choose from. We sat out on the deck and soaked in the view. This place is just so beautiful! Our server took at least 20 minutes to acknowledge us and deliver water. He approached us with«oh I’m sorry I forgot about you!» We didn’t mind much since the view was spectacular but by then we were already prepared to order entrees. We started with two Lava Flows. These came out super fast and just totally hit the spot. Shortly after we had the Quinoa«Risotto» and kiddo started on his free spaghetti pasta with butter and Parmesan dinner. «Risotto» was very buttery and good. Hearty like you would want a risotto to be. Definately fooled me! Wouldn’t have known it was only quinoa. + score on the kids meal, there was nothing we can share with him with our entrees and he can never come close to finishing a kids meal. Grilled Mahi Mahi $ 45 Disappointingly below average for a place so swanky. Visually the plate looked appetizing. The Mahi Mahi however was charred on the outside with heavy grill marks that left a very unpleasant taste
