My sweets and I have been on the hunt for yummy Chinese food since we moved here. I heard this place had crab Rangoon so I thought I would give it a try. This place is for sure a place to get take out. I personally would not stay and eat. It is just really hot and there are no fans to try and cool the place down. We ordered garlic chicken and Mongolian beef. Both plates came with fried rice for $ 1.00 extra. The best part of the meal was the fried rice. The veggies were fresh and the beef and chicken moist but the flavors were not the best. The rangoons were good except they needed a whole lot more filling. Unfortunately our hunt for our go to Chinese place continues.

****warning**** *food poisoning* Ate here a few times in hopes that the food would get better, but unfortunately, it didn’t. Lunch buffet/plate lunches are very expensive. Food was horrible! Their«buffet» is seriously a sad excuse for a Buffett. Their orange chicken taste like orange juice and ketchup. Seriously, DONOT eat here. You’ll regret it. My family and I got food poisoning. If there were 0 stars I would choose that. We walked in with a party of 16 and there was another party of maybe the same size who I assume had reservations because the waiter was only tending to them. There was only 1 waiter who was so rude and didn’t even give us menus and drinks. He kept saying«5 more mins and I’ll be with you guys.» He couldn’t even fill the other tables drinks in the 20 mins… Seriously if you know you’re that busy you would buss ass. We ended up walking out after like 20 minutes and the waiter wasn’t even apologetic. Let’s just say they lost a lot of money tonight.

The location sucks, the food is very expensive, you don’t even get a lot of the food, the food is ok, but the bright is that the workers are nice. Overall i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone because we spent $ 40 for 3 plates with portion sizes meant for only 1 person. DRAGONFLYSUCKS!!!

I have dined at Dragonfly twice in the past week. Yes, the food is that good! We ordered the kung pao chicken, garlic chicken, and beef with garlic sauce. All three dishes were great! Their fried rice(vegetarian and chicken), chow mein, and chow fun were delicious as well. If you can look past the décor, then you have found a gem!

I was craving Chinese food so we decided to try this place again. We had gone once right after they opened and it was decent so we wanted to give it another try. Well, we’re sorry we did. It was probably one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. The place is a total dive(even if it’s relatively new, it looks icky and the tables are topped with some sort of weird fake leather liner). We should have turned around when we walked in and there was no one eating there at around 6:30pm. The waitress was pleasant and so we ordered. Then the food came out… ugh just thinking of it makes me kinda wanna throw up a little in my mouth. The crispy gau gee mein looked like fried saimin noodles. The gau gee had a funky taste and all I remember was there was a lot of cabbage. The kau yuk at $ 16 was literally a plate of marinated fat. I like my kau yuk fatty but geez there was hardly any meat in the dish. The flavor was decent and we were starving so we ate some. Then came the major disappointment… mushroom chicken. This sad plate of food consists of canned bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. There’s hardly any chicken and absolutely no flavor. It was accompanied by undercooked carrots(seriously it was like eating carrot sticks). We ate what we could stomach because we were starving but both felt kinda sick after. We feel like we should warn people about this place. Local people – don’t waste your hard earned money here. You’re better off eating some good Japanese food down the row at Tokyo Tei!

Was looking for something to eat late at night. And came across this place. They serve their full menu till 2am! Which is the best part. There aren’t many restaurants open till that late here on Maui. We ordered hot and sour soup, bittermelon and pork and chow fun. Everything tasted so good! Probably one of the best hot n sour soups I had. It was nice and spicy with just the right amount of sour. The chow fun was very flavorful. We will definitely be back here to eat and have a drink or two.

Horrible food. Everything tastes like week old leftovers that have already turned. The food didn’t look appetizing to begin with and the second we took a bite our entire family spit everything out and needed to rinse our mouths to get the taste out. Go to Panda Express, you’ll at least get edible food.

Pros: Cute atmosphere considering it’s past ownership(Korean bar) Friendly staff Extremely tasty food(no condiments needed) Fresh vegetables in all dishes Perfectly cooked meat/vegetables Friendly owners NOMSG =] Cons: Not the best tasting water(tap) It gets busy(full restaurant tonight) We came here on Father’s Day because my dad loves Chinese food. When we arrived at 7:25(a few minutes before our reservation), we walked into a full house, but were greeted immediately and seated in a booth. We decided on chow fun, honey walnut shrimp, Szechuan eggplant, and Mongolian beef. Service was a little slow, but like I said earlier, it was a full house. As the food came, each dish seemed to be better than the last… and we loved it all. The chow fun was a lot paler than most we have tried, but very tasty and seemed to be cooked with sesame seed oil. The honey walnut shrimp was cooked perfectly and served on a healthy bed of lettuce. The Szechuan eggplant had an amazing sauce and the eggplant was cooked well. The Mongolian beef tasted different than I expected, but in a good way; it reminded me of hoisin and was also very tasty. After our meal(and scraping all of the plates dry), we got to talk to one of the owners a bit and were thoroughly impressed. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes… they even have lunch plate specials for under $ 10!

Give it a try, despite the other bad reviews. The place is clean, the food came quickly and while it’s not 5 star cuisine, it was good. The Mongolian Beef isn’t the flavor I think of when I think of this dish, but it was tasty, especially the onions. The eggplant was ok, but then I ate a sliver of ginger with each piece of the eggplant– delicious! Snow peas and chicken– the chicken looked weird, but tasted ok. I think we will do snow pea with beef next time. Service was friendly and attentive.

Yikes it looks like a korean bar. Needs more lighting an better décor. The food is absolutely yuck. If your looking for good chinese food. This is deff not the place. You might as well make a take out order and re-cook it at home.

I had high hopes when I heard an owner was from Hong Kong. The food is not very good and flavorful like the Chinese food you’d find in China Town on Oahu. I asked for some hot mustard and it came out as water with mustard powder gloating in it… No spice. I hope the can make some improvements… Great Chinese food is missing on Maui. Hopefully they take this opportunity and make some changes ASAP. If the owner responds saying changes have been made, we’ll try again and update the review appropriately.

Located in a former nightclub that retains some of the same colors, sparkle and glitter this industrial space offers booths and a full bar with wide screen TVs showing movies and Sport Center. The willowy owner doubles as waitstaff, how she can deliver standing in skirt and heels is beyond me. Simple humble menu with plenty to choose from. 10 Dumplings are either boiled or crispy. Choose boiled. Cake noodles were good as was eggplant. Salt/pepper pork cooked to order but needed a sauce. Honey walnut shrimp was OK, Tiffs down the road does better. 4 diners $ 105 with tip. One drink each. On par for what is expected on Maui. Since Dragon Dragon just closed it now may the only alternative for a Chinese speaking restaurant if you don’t count Panda, Kings or Wei Wei.

Wondering… Went here the first week they opened. Had to try the new place in town and can’t pass up a good Chinese meal, right? Walked in for lunch and was greeted by the bartender/owner. We asked to see a menu, but she insisted we sit down. After asking again to see a menu, she handed us a take out menu to look at. Hmmmm, good choices. Okay, we’ll try. Although there were no other diners there, she seemed to want to sit us away from the lighted tables, for some reason. We insisted on sitting where there was light. Had to try all the favorites, so ordered hot &sour soup, lemon chicken, beef broccoli, cake noodles and sweet sour pork. The soup came out first. My wife said it tasted funny, but to me it seemed okay, just a little different taste. She didn’t finish eating her bowl, even when this is one of her favorite soups. The food came out one by one, about 10 minutes apart. The lemon chicken lacked the normal sweet lemon tang and the sweet sour pork was bland. The beef broccoli was decent, but tasted much different than I’m used to. And the cake noodles were so soft, it wasn’t caked at all! Overall, we spent about 60+ bucks for food that was worth half that. And, my wife got sick after going home, suffering from food poisoning, probably due to the soup. So, back to the top… wondering! After seeing these reviews, are these actual customers or family and friends to the owners? The place, at least to me, definitely did not rate anywhere close to 5 stars!

Went there after reading the reviews. The location is kinda weird. It’s under a 2 story parking lot and hard to find. The food was good, on par with the average Chinese food I n the bay area. The braised pork was pretty flavourful and the pork green beans are actually made of string beans which was a good surprise. The xhickrb saimen was just ok as the veggies were brocoli, zucchini and carrot. I think it’s a good place to have Chinese on Maui and the owners are very friendly.

Tried this restaurant for the first time tonight after looking for somewhere new to eat. I was very pleasantly surprised. Everyone was very attentive and nice. They checked on us several times during our visit, making sure everything was to our liking. The food– all of the dishes we tried had a lot of flavor. Although some of the dishes are naturally spicy, you can request for your dish to be hotter or milder. I enjoyed everything we ordered. I will definitely be back for more.

You are in the right place if you are craving for Chinese food. I ordered a few dishes, the Dofu, King Pao Chicken as well as the Sour and sweet soup. My favorite is the sour and sweet soup and I forgot to take a picture till I almost finished. The owner couple are really nice and warm. Gave me great advice on Maui island as a first timer from OC and also provide nice suggestions of Oahu activity stuff as the owner was originally from there.
