Can’t say I was too happy with what we got here. The fried chicken was very low quality strips of skin and fat. Half of it was thrown away. The meat Hun(beef) was clearing pre-frozen, sliced in to thin strips and a egg coating that fell off. The macaroni salad was quite flavorless. I will say the sauce that came on the side was impressive.

This place was not at all what I expected with such great reviews. Maybe this is what Hawai’ian Korean is like? Not like Korean restaurants I’m used to on the mainland. They have affordable lunch plate specials(10:00 am — 2:00 pm) which include meat, rice, and mac salad. There are also more traditional Korean dishes like Kalbi, Japchae, Bibimbap, and Jigaes(stews). I had Kalbi(marinated beef short ribs) which came with rice and 4 panchan(side dishes) for $ 14.95. The meat was tasty, but a little overly sweet and fatty. The kimchi was decent but not great. Overall, the people were friendly and the food was decent. Not a very inviting interior. Be aware there was a sign posted: «Closed Mon-Fri 2:00 — 4:30 pm,» so you can plan accordingly.

The owner has a wonderful sense of humor and was super professional when pointing out an error that I made for the review. Please accept my apologies.

Finally got to try this place! I usually to frequent this location when it was a Korean Bbq joint so I was surprised to see that they changed the interior. Looks more spacious and cleaner but I miss the Bbq. Menu is simple plate lunches with photos. I got the bibimbap and kalbi Bbq stick which was very good. My friend got the meat jun which portion was huge but over marinated and the meat was mushy. I’ll have to go back and try some more items again soon!

…talked with the Manager Guy a Airforce Vet who is not at the shop all the time but he made lunch one of the best we’ve had in Maui to date. Everything was delicious, the stand outs to me were the Fried Chicken, Meat Jun, and Spicy Pork. Guy told us pretty much all the banchan were made by the Chef/Owner herself. They cut their own meats. A very Mom and Pop store. The food was ono, the service pretty good for only Guy as today they were a server short. Got in before the lunch crowd started. I think it would have been tough to get time to talk to Guy later in the day. To wrap it up, the A/C is functional, it was able to get the restaurant cooler then outside at least! Definitely a stop worth the food and a chat with Guy. Aloha!

Family-run restaurant set back from Lower Main Street. The service was bad the night I went but restaurant was busy and only the Husband was working in dinning area. The ribs and chicken I ordered were very good and I also enjoyed the pickled side dishes. Good Korean food at a reasonable price give it a try but don’t be in a rush.

JB’s kitchen never fails me!!! The spicy pork was so delicious & Kim chee fried rice is always my favorite!!! The fried chicken is another favorite of mine, but there was simply no room in my tummy! I will do a combo next time! So many delicious choices, I must go back again!!!

Fried chicken and stone pot bi bim bop, sooo tasty. Stone pot bi bim bop, comes out sizzling hot, makes the rice extra crispy and awesome. Fried chicken is always a win, crispy and tasty! Meat Jun is tender.
