I’ve used most of the facilities at War Memorial over many years. The gym for volleyball games and pep band for basketball games. The pool for swim team. The football stadium for marching band(high school and the Hula Bowl) and high school graduation. The parking lot to practice driving before the driving test, etc. The running track for the 1 season of Jr High X-country I did(that was a mistake — yuck). And of course going to the Maui County Fair. Now, I started using the tennis courts. A lot of War Memorial is old — built in the 1950s. They recently updated the pool(but it still smells the same and brings back memories of meets). The tennis courts look like they’ve been updated recently — the courts are smooth, and the paint is good. The paint on the fences around the courts could use a fresh coat, but they work. I even think the parking lot has been repaved in the last several years, but I didn’t pay too much attention to that the last time I was there. I wish the pool had longer open hours, like earlier in the morning and later in the evening. It’s not compatible with my work schedule to swim with their late opening and early closing. It is a great complex with a lot to offer to the community.

Évaluation du lieu : 2 Maui County, HI
Unilocal grouped everything together, so to break it down, the complex consists of a baseball and a football stadium, an olympic-sized pool, gymnasium, and fields for soccer and softball. GYMNASIUM: Sadly this still is central Maui’s sole events«arena» which seats about 1,000 or so. It’s an old basketball gymnasium with pull out stadium bench seating, is dusty, and has no air conditioning. It’s used for various events like school band concerts, MMA fights, and craft fairs. Back in the day it was heavily used by schools for sporting events but each school has since had their own gyms built. Concerts would also be held here in the acoustically horrible space, but thankfully the Maui Arts & Cultural Center has taken over those duties.
