Oceanic Institute

In partnership with Hawaii Pacific University, the Oceanic Institute Learning Academic Center probably possesses the nicest classroom views on the island!
The classes offered are usually graduate level and upper undergraduate oceanography, marine biology or ecology classes. HPU graduate students in the Master of Science in Marine Sciences can benefit from graduate offices and laboratories. Some of the professors’ offices are definitely among HPU’s nicest!
And, incredible but true, all students, staff and researchers can enjoy FREE parking! Rare in Hawai’i. However, don’t forget your sweaters and cup of coffee, the AC is cranked up!
The biggest downside of this paradisiac location is the commute. If you own a car, you’ll hate the gas expenses. If you don’t, you’re quite screwed. Only a few bus lines (22, 57) go around, and only about once a hour. Plan ahead! But once you start going to the oceanic institute, you just don’t want to have classes in any other campus :-)
