Their portions are well sized. I tried both the BBQ chicken and ribs combo. It was alright but what was amazing is their special kekahutt chicken. It is fried and tastes sweet with a hint of chili pepper. We went back for more the next day only to find out it is served only on Wednesday and Friday.

Food was good. Had the hamburger steak and pulled pork sandwich. Budget extra as it was a little slow, but freshly made.

Awesome hole in the wall place! Nice staff, cute cozy place… Only reason why I took one star off is because they didn’t have a restroom inside of the store… Keiki friendly, lots of locals go here :)

Not bad but slight changes to Da Booze could make greater improvements. The plate lunches for $ 9.95 are a good deal because of the portions. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork wrap and ate half of it because the sweet potato fries and mac salad got in the way of the other half. I’ve had better mac salad so I’m glad it was only a small scoop. Seth ordered the BBQ cheeseburger plate and thoroughly enjoyed it once he got his BBQ sauce. He thought sweet potato fries came with but they were regular. He didn’t like them as much so I shared mine and he agreed the mac salad wasn’t his favorite either. The service is quick and they were pleasant when Seth noticed they forgot to add BBQ sauce on his burger. Ketchup was difficult to acquire. There were about five Heinz ketchup packets left in a tiny bowl by the utensils at the counter. I didn’t ask for more since the server handed me only three from the bowl for us. The café is small, fits possibly 10 – 12 customers, and it’s not all that clean. The place settings are paper plates and plastic ware. A restroom is hidden just steps from the kitchen area and it’s very tiny. There isn’t a changing table and it would be impossible if you needed to try. If we return we’ll most likely take it to go and have a picnic nearby or go straight to the beach. I’d rather enjoy the heat of the sun rather than the heat of the café while we ate.

Fish wrap and fries was ok fish wrap was more veggies than fish should be equal portion meat to veggies. Double loco moco was ok gravy was the powder package kine not from scratch. Chicken cutlet was ok same gravy as the loco moco. The wing ding plate was the best plate can’t really mess up fried chicken wings unless u put it in a Styrofoam container and the chicken is so hot it melts right through the foam container. Thanks for the carcinogen and possible cancer cells. The worse was the bbq ribs and chicken combo or should I say bbq rib(not ribs yes one single rib) and pigeon combo. Kind of embarrassed for the owner she is a nice lady but my ribs and chicken plate only had one fricken rib and the half chicken was more like on quarter pigeon. I swear so much bones was like old school pigeon chest. Da booze shop u should change the name to the lose shop. Ok ok sorry for ranting like everything and everyone else u deserve a second chance I going try again and then update my review until then try make um with pride u know something u would be proud to serve your family. I’m not just a hungry patron I am someone who has been coming here for years and would like to continue to support local shops but I no think can if u serve lousy products.

This place was not good. The only reason why it got two stars instead of one is because it was still edible(while not necessarily enjoyable) and the service was great. I ordered ribs that came with rice and Mac salad. They obviously boil the ribs because they were moist but flavorless. I’m not a fan of boiled ribs — you lose all the delicious flavor. The Mac salad was not rave worthy as many of the other guests have thought. And my husband didn’t get the correct burger. He ordered a BBQ burger with bacon and they skipped the BBQ sauce. We were pretty hungry after hiking in Waimea Canyon all day so you’d think we’d be super satisfied with anything, but we weren’t. I wouldn’t come back. Also, side note: no booze is involved in this place. «They serve up God, not alcohol». Which is fine by me, we came here for food. And the Christian rock playing in the background brought back some old childhood memories. In fact, I think it’s a pretty cool little story that they have with newspaper articles on the wall. But don’t go here if you’re looking for a Mai Tai.

Small mom and pop shop with good sized lunch plates! I ordered the local moco and katsu set… Omg it was so huge! You could almost share it amongst two people! They don’t sell booze here so don’t get confused lol

I’ve been on the lookout for places with good fish. It’s an island so anywhere that serves fish should serve fresh fish, right? Wrong. I ordered a fish sandwich and I’m 90% sure the fish was the type of fish that you could buy frozen and pre-breaded. There were 2 breaded fish strips on my sandwich. I wouldn’t even have minded the 2 breaded fish strips in replacement of a fish patty/steak if the fish was fresh but it wasn’t. Fries weren’t as crispy as I’d preferred. Should have ordered a burger or a plate lunch.

Pretty good! They have good Mac here. The service was good. The plate food prices were reasonable. My rice and food was dry, I suggest the gravy to help out with that.

My wife and I dropped by for late lunch on a Friday based upon good reviews from Unilocal. The place was easy to find off the main highway with plentiful street parking. Inside we found friendly people behind the counter to take our order. I went with the pulled pork sandwich platter while my wife opted for the Teri cheeseburger( Everything is made to order so it took a bit for the burger to be cooked. I sent my wife across the street in the interim to snag a picnic table in the small park as it was mega hot in the restaurant. It wasn’t much cooler outside though and plus we had to battle some flies looking for a meal. My pulled pork sandwich was tasty and delicious. The BBQ sauce was delightful and not at all spicy hot(not that that would be a bad thing). My wife’s burger was equally as good but with perhaps a tad too much teriyaki sauce for her liking.

Great wraps. I got the fish wrap today that comes with sweet potato fries and macaroni salad or green salad. The staff was very friendly. If you wish to dine in they have 3 tables but what we decided to take out as there were picnic tables available.

Quaint little shop with 3 – 4 tables that serves island favorites along with the obligatory hamburger. Despite its name, no alcohol is served here, but a lot of love is. Expect service to be slow, as the kitchen employs a single cook, and everything is cooked to order. Prices are reasonable — expect $ 6 – 10 for Keiki and $ 10-$ 12 for adult lunches. The Katsu Ranch wrap is a run-of-the-mill breaded chicken wrap with breaded food service chicken tenders and slathered in ranch — I opted for regular fries instead of the standard sweet potato ones, and boy am I glad I did; they were flavorful, crispy and perfectly seasoned — by perfectly, I mean I still added garlic salt to them to take them Over the top My girlfriend absolutely loved the BBQ pork wrap, and that along with the amazing fries, pulled the overall rating to a 4. If we come back, I will opt for the Loco Moco for sure.

They do not serve booze at the booze shop. It previously was a liquor store, but the current owners are devout Christians who decided against serving booze. They do, however, have burgers and some island-style comfort food. I had the loco moco, which was fine. My wife had the fish and chips, though one of the pieces was very fishy and she avoided it. My girls had fried chicken and french fries, which they enjoyed. I thought the fries were quite tasty. It took us a while to get our food, but I think it’s because they make it as it’s ordered, and there were already a couple of orders ahead of us. Reasonable place for lunch or very simple dinner, though items are in the $ 8-$ 10 range.

One of the best burgers I’ve had!!! The service was quick, the price was totally affordable. My only downside to this place is that I don’t live closer to this place, so I can’t go as often. The lady also gave us a teri/mayo sauce that tasted AMAZING. Will return when I’m on the westside again.

Hmm. pretty good Unilocal reviews. but it was disappointing. thought we’d try something new but instead should’ve stuck to shrimp station or island taco. the food was greasy, and quality just didn’t seem high. i know we aren’t at the St Regis here, but still compared to just what’s available around(i.e. shrimp station/island taco mentioned above). this one pales in comparison.

Contrary to its name, they sell no alcohol. It’s a small casual place with good food and family run. They have a very cool sign of the 10 commandments in pigeon! We ordered the Katsu Moco and pork ribs and finished it all. I think that it was a bit much but was tasty!
