Over the weekend I attended the craft fair at NBC. OHMYGOODNESS… The Cafeteria Shortbread Cookies blew me away. It reminded me of when i was in Elementary school eating this cookie. It was so buttery and oh so good. I should of bought more because one bag is almost gone. My parents bought to give away and now they are saying they didn’t buy enough. We are hoping that at the other locations you will have the cookies as well.

Aloha Edibles Lotus Root(Hasu) chips are delicious !!. I located them at the Mililani Foodland. I was fortunate to visit the factory and got the thin sliced Gourmet Beef Jerky. It was terrific!!. I know it’s wrong, but My Grandogs go «crazy» over it. Once, I pick up the package, they are jumping up and down. Packed with flavor and crispy.

For those craving a different snack, I highly recommend their Lotus root chips.(Yup, you can eat Lotus flower roots also known as «hasu» among the Japanese.) It has a slightly nutty, crunchy flavor with a hint of salt. Great to eat as a standalone snack or have with beer. Their beef jerky is quite good as well. It is dried flakes that grow in flavor the longer you chew it. I was sorry to hear Kaimuki Grill closed up but glad to hear these folks continue to sell their snacks. In addition to their store, one can find them at the Windward Mall Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and Sundays. Check it out!
