They have the best Polynesian food in the state. Best in the mornings, but everything is still great throughout the Day and evening.

The fiancé absolutely loved their taro. It wasn’t nasty mayo drenched and had some good flavor which you can definitely taste the difference. The sapasui and ribs were also good. The reason for the 3 stars was for the rude ass Filipino girl working the register. She obviously didn’t like her job and while she was ringing us up, it was as if we were bothering her… umm. no! That’s your job, if you dont want to ring it up, we will gladly walk out with it for free! Also, $ 43.00 was a bit steep for some taro, ribs and sapasui.

I am totally a fan of Tammy’s food. Especially the panipopo. I’m pretty sure my family and I each gained about 10lbs over Christmas because of this food. But it was worth it and its inexpensive. We’ve been back six times in the past four weeks. Yum!

Tammys is good but when I went to go make a plate there was a cockaroach going in to the oka. Also they are so expensive there bread is like 5 dollars plus tax. But on saturday I was making a deposit at Bank of Hawaii and walked a little down there was a Samoan Bakery. Its called Franceddie’s Bakery they are onolicious check them out and they are really cheap. Their panipopo is 75 cents apiece. Thanks much mahalos

Oh Tammy’s, you have always been«to the rescue» on many family lunches, dinners & special occasions for many of us Samoan & Tongan families who have little to no time making our own heritage/cultural foods. It’s pretty sad now that I think of it, but nowadays people are always on «the go» so when you want a piece of home food(even though it never sums up to REAL Mamas home cooked meals) Tammy’s will do it’s job with fulfilling your tummy needs. I am not a big«Samoan food» type of person(oddly because I am Samoan) but between my wife & my own family, they make up for me barely eating any Samoan food lol If you come early enough when they open, they’re freshly out of the oven bread is totally winners! & when you get that, you have to buy a big stick of they’re New Zealand butter that makes it all worth it! They sell taro(regular — which is the boiled taro & the taro with coconut milk; which is my favorite, or baked taro) as well as banana(and this is the type of banana they cook when it’s still green, not the yellow ripe type) as well as sweet potato, and a bunch of favorites for many poly’s out there!(corn beef w/cabbage, Samoan bangers, lamb, chicken etc.) The deserts are what we usually pre-order during the holidays like«Pagi Popo» which is a Samoan desert that is to die for! and if your there early enough they have these Jelly, Coconut donuts(they’re big and round & looks nothing like a donut — my favorite is the Jelly since I was a little girl) I recommend you try one! It’s super good!!! Plus if your from Samoa(for my peoples case) you will find a lot of goodies that are mostly found in Samoa & hard to find in Hawaii. Would’ve rated this place a 5 star since I’ve been coming here for as long as I could remember, BUT they’re always running out of things… so it’s hard to get what your craving for, unless you plan on going there super early, because by mid-day they run out of most things, so that’s a BOO to that situation. Otherwise, my family & I have come here for years & it’s just a life saver when it comes to having a Samoan meal without cooking it. Try they’re food! You might like it!(;

Talofa, otou! Tammy’s reminds me of the food I loved as a child growing up in Utulei, American Samoa: the baked Samoan taro(tastier than Hawaiian taro, fluffier, non-slimy), baked ulu, cooking bananas, palusami, oka, pagi popo, canned wahoo, etc. And I grew up eating palolo too! Still love the food now that I’m all grown up!

The reason I go to Tammy’s: the fresh baked bread! Yes, the paper bag you get it in becomes soaked with butter. So make sure you have an extra plastic bag to put it in before you throw it on your car seat for the ride home. You can’t beat fresh baked bread. They carry hot Pre cooked Samoan staples too. I’ll occasionally pick up the canned corned beef here too. Better than Libby’s brand IMO.

The MAIN reason I frequent this store is to buy their ONO-LICIOUSPANIPOPO! Best thing to do is call ahead to pre-order a tray of one dozen rolls for $ 14.99 if not, you can always just drop by and hope it’s available. If you want just want one the cost is $ 1.49 per roll. I’ve tried making it with dinner rolls and it was okay; but theirs is the BEST!!! They sell drinks(soda & beer/liquor) and snacks(chips/candies) and they have a hot and cold food table :-) They also sell hair combs, bracelets, CDs, DVDs, etc amongst other things… Parking sucks, but if you park across the street by Diners or next door at Kays Bento, it’s all good and it’s not that far of a walk. P. S. Even my Samoan friends buy their PANIPOPO from TAMMY’S!!!

This is the only place I know of that sells already cooked Samoan food. My Samoan friends recommended it to me, so this is where I go when I am craving my Samoan favorites: palusami, pani popo, sapa sui, corned beef, breadfrult, etc. It is not a restaurant, but a convenience mart that has hot steam tables and you load up your food into take out containers. The food is weighed and you pay. Since it is a convenience mart there is a selection of drinks and snacks. Around and behind the register there are Samoan goods like tau lima, hair combs, etc. I don’t bring my kids here… I just pick up my food and go home to eat. There are always other Samoans or Tongans buying food whenever I go, and that is always a good indicator!

Tammy’s Pani Popo, a.k.a. Samoan Coconut Rolls, really POP! Meaning, they rock! Highly, highly recommended. The rolls — which are essentially your basic dinner bread roll — are baked in a pan surrounded by and DRENCHED in sweetened coconut milk, in every good way you can imagine. Breaking it down, Tammy’s Pani Popo bread rolls are inherently buttery in flavor, having a delicately-browned crust on top, while being airy-soft in texture within the«meat» of it, yet glutenous enough to stand-up to the moisture of the thick, sweetened coconut milk it’s baked in. Tammy’s Pani Popo coconut milk is perfectly sweetened, along with a full-bodied thickness and flavor that truly is «liquid coconut cream» at its finest. Combine those two basic elements, and every bite of the fully-engorged buttery roll explodes with that thick, sweetened coconut creamy goodness, making this a simply excellent tropical-themed baked dessert not to be missed, and Tammy’s does this dish proud. CHEEEEEEPANIPOPOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!(Gosh, it feels so good to shout that out! lol)

Tammy’s is your go to store for Samoan and Tongan food if you are unable to cook them yourself. You’ll find foods of all sorts, from cooked items, to canned goods, and even chips and candies, and cd’s dvd’s etc usually found in the islands. I can’t say I expect much as I am accustomed to their style of operation. This is not thee best Samoan food ever, you can only find that at a Samoan persons house being home made but it does the job. It’s not exactly easy to find Samoan and Tongan food. Anyways I didn’t give it a five because it is not the cleanest place to go too. It seems a bit dirty, and could be way more clean, but like I said it is Tammy’s.
