I was very satisfied with my window installation that I have received from Mario and his team.
At first, I was not satisfied with the work that the initial installers had done. Mr Bill Hughes came to the rescue! He was such a thoughtful and caring professional person! He looked at the finished product and knowing that I was a perfectionist, he went ahead and called for a different group of installers and within a few weeks my windows were Re done and PERFECT!
Mario was such a great person to do business with as well!
I would recommend them to everyone!
I had lowes windows installed in another room and the quality is soooo poor. The breeze comes right through.
Please remember. You get what you pay for. I am totally satisfied and soooo pleased that I had Windows of Hawaii do the rest of my home!

This review is long overdue, but now that the project is finally behind us, I wanted to share our ordeal with Windows Hawaii, and all the hoops we had to jump through to install siding on our house last year. I researched a bit and decided to go with Windows Hawaii because of their Unilocal reviews, «Best in Hawaii» award, and because there are relatively few companies in Hawaii that install siding (that actually responded back to my inquiries). In July 2014, I met with the salesperson Travis Buyer to get an estimate of installing siding on my mom’s older house. A few weeks later, we signed the contract and made a 50% down payment. It was agreed in the contract, and Travis told us himself that the materials had to be ordered from the mainland, and gave an estimate of completion to be around the November timeframe (this was if the project started in October 2014). Well, October came around, and then someone from Windows Hawaii told us that the color my mom picked out for her house was special (off white color, really?) and it was having a bit of delay to be shipped from the mainland. That was fine, so we continued to wait. In December 2014, I contacted Kurt Malley, who was the project manager, to follow up with the status of the materials. He told me the materials still had not come in and he would contact me when it did. January 1^st rolled by, and finally we received news that Windows Hawaii would be able to start the siding project on the week of January 24, 2015. About time! In the initial stages of the project, Kurt told us it would take approximately 3 weeks for the completion, which seemed reasonable to me as this was a one-​story approximately 1,500 square foot house (not too big, but I knew of some challenges because it is older and I wanted them to do a nice job). It was also around this time that my mom went on a month long trip to another country, so I was the sole point-​of-​contact. However, I work during the day so the only other person always being home would be my dad. Once in a while, I asked him if the siding people came by and he said yes they did, but usually only for a short period of time. For the next 3 months or so (what happened to 3 weeks?!) that it took the installation crew to complete the siding, their work hours were very sporadic, which is unacceptable. According to my parents, the installation crew would come by the house and do work for a few hours per day, drawing out the project. This was very evident whenever I came home from work, because only small parts of siding would be finished. At first, there seemed to be progress, and then sometimes days would go by, and it looked like the work was the same where it was left off. At times, the crew would not even come to do the project (confirmed on days my husband was off from work). During the middle of March 2015, a week went by before anyone came, and when they finally did they said one of the workers were sick. I can understand that people get sick, so it’s fine to take sick leave, but you would think the project manager would call someone to tell us that or keep us up to date. No one ever had the courtesy to let us know. Windows Hawaii’s work ethic was becoming suspicious, so my husband contacted the project manager Kurt Malley to ask questions. Kurt would give excuses for why his workers left, or sometimes he didn’t have an explanation at all. In fact, he would tell us that his workers told him they spoke to my mom to give her updates; that’s a lie because she was in another country throughout most of the time that they said they were here doing work. Already, I began to suspect that we were getting the short end of the stick. Kurt had already missed two of his deadlines, and every time we asked he would say our house was old and was a very difficult project, among other things. Are you serious? It’s not like this was some cheap job for them to do, we were paying over $ 26,000 to Windows Hawaii to do what was promised and deliver it on time! I would believe what was being said if the workers actually came to work full days, but the fact that they did not just made me even more irate! For being a manager, Kurt did not seem to do a very good job of managing where his workers are, or giving projections of when the completion can be done. There was poor communication with this company, and poor management from the person in charge. Those few months of waiting for the project to complete had us regretting choosing to do business with this company. In the end, Windows Hawaii did complete the project and deliver what was expected, but it took over 3 months! They gave us too much stress and were a waste of time! All we got from the project manager was excuses after excuses. The only fact that changed things around and got things done was when we contacted Mario, the general manager of the company. He even said our project should’ve been completed a few weeks (seriously!). We will not go with this company again for any of their services.

Well I’m writing because most people only use Unilocal for bad reviews. I’m writing about my experience with Windows Hawaii. Mario was our sales associate he answered all of our questions. The only thing was the wait time for the windows it was longer than 10 week but we ordered 32 windows and two doors. But I can say it was worth the wait!!! The installation crew was wonderful, they all did a fantastic job at taking out the old windows, doors and putting in the new. They were customer friendly and professional. They treated it like it was their own home with respect. The crew was of Stanton, Kona, D.J. and Clayton. They did a great job and they worked very well as a team. I would recommend Windows Hawaii to anyone interested in replacing their old jalousie windows. My home looks beautiful and I love the tint to reflect the sun out. It keeps the house cooler. Once again thank you to the whole team oh and don’t forget Kurt Malley the production manager.

I called to ask if they could install a screen door for my sliding patio door. They said the whole window has to be replaced, which of course is a lie. 3 other companies quoted my about $ 300 to add a screen door to my existing door. They are sketchy. Get comparison quotes so you don’t get ripped off.

It’s been over a year since I had Windows Hawaii install new windows in my house. I really owe them a review, especially as I found their service and product to be outstanding.
I had long wanted to get rid of the cheap aluminum sliding doors and the old fashioned jalousie windows that were installed back in 1970. So I interviewed three local companies. Of the three Windows Hawaii was clearly the most responsive to my questions and needs. Working with Mario was a delight. After placing my order, which was extensive, he gave me several minor upgrades. Unasked for and really unnecessary as I had already placed my order and he had my business. Just a nice touch.
Then Kurt came out and measured the windows. Prompt, professional service. My orders were placed and, after a couple of months, I got word that they were ready to be installed.
J.P. showed up to install the windows. I must admit that I admired both his technical skill and how he led the team, all of whom were excellent. Whenever a window or door was opened JP stayed until it was closed. Everyday they cleaned up. The whole process took about a week. Can’t complain.
Now — the windows and doors. As I mentioned earlier I’m comparing these with aluminum doors and jalousie windows, all of which had single pane glass. I can’t compare them to other brands of vinyl windows. Bearing that in mind I have to give them a ⁵⁄₅. I live on Kaneohe Bay where I’m constantly hearing the Marines fly big transports and screaming fighters over my roof. On occasion they blow stuff up. And then there’s the occasional teenager driving by with the base on his stereo turned to max. And lets forget the trade winds which had formally whistled through the jalousies. All of that has virtually disappeared. Not only have the windows deadened the outside noise but they insulate me from the heat. The house has never been so cool. Finally there’s the UV blockage. It’s hard judge if the wall paint is fading any less, but what is striking is the effects that the windows have had on my little tropical fish tank. Used to be that would have to clean it once a week. Now i go three weeks before I clean it. I can only conclude that the algae must have thrived on light in the UV or near UV portion of the spectrum. Whatever, but the effect is striking.
And how are the windows holding up after a year? No problem. Some of the plastic on the screen doors exposed to the ocean are a little bit discolored, but other than that everything is fine. No pitting on the glass or the metal hardware.
All in all an excellent company to work with. Good salesman, good crew, good product.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but would be greatly remiss if I did not acknowledge your excellent work installing a 6-​foot picture window/​bottom awning combo at my windy, hillside home on August 13, 2015. The entire Windows Hawaii team from Mario, Kurt and installation crew were prompt, courteous and responsive. Special thanks to the installation crew (JP-​lead, Roel, & Vance) who took extra time and care in removing the existing window and installing the new window without damage to the surroundings. They protected the existing floor with a utility pad and shielded nearby furniture from dust with plastic sheeting. They had the vacuum cleaner brush trailing right behind the saw blade, vacuumed repeatedly and kept the entire area in a neat and workmanlike condition. Being the professional that he is and taking pride in the work he performs and oversees, JP made sure that the exterior stucco wall and interior drywall were trimmed neatly and precisely to minimize any restoration work. I also found him to be a good mentor, not always doing things himself, but teaching others the proper attitude and right way to do things. The work has a professional look and I am very pleased. Thanks for sending one of your «A Teams» to do my job! The only negative things on my job were that the two awning cranks and one of the screens had been damaged during transit. JP assured me that he would report it to the company and have someone replace them in a day or two. When Mario first came out to prepare his estimate, he mentioned that I will notice a difference in workmanship between the Windows Hawaii job, when completed, and an adjacent sliding door that was installed several months ago by another company. I compared them side by side and he is entirely correct.

We met them at the BIA home expo at the blaisdell back in january. Thought they had some good products and was very interested in their windows. Scheduled a time for them to come out to our home to give us an estimate. The guy no shows. The manager calls and said they were double booked so they were not able to come. We would have appreciated a call to say that they couldn’t make it, because we were waiting for them. We called the office manager «Shante» the next day and rescheduled another time, and again, no show and no calls. Worst costumer service!!! We decided that there are other window companies in oahu with better service. I would have rated them 0 star if I could for their service.

I had Anlin front picture window installed several years ago and noticed how much it had cut down on the street noise so when I had the money had a few more installed. Crew that came in did a great job. I was concerned because I had changed the size of the windows but they matched everything up perfectly inside and out. I love the noise reduction and the security the windows provide. I really am a big fan and ⁴¹⁄₂ stars is my real rating. half a star off because the estimator was a no show for the first appointment and I had taken a day off just to do that. But otherwise everything was great!

I changed all of our windows in December 2013 and experienced great service and workmanship from everyone at Windows Hawaii. I had a great discount too! In comparison to other companies that I contacted, Windows Hawaii personnel were very responsive and professional. They worked with my schedule to install the windows, and when I wanted a change a window to obscure glass, they accommodated my request. Our home is cooler and the windows are «uplifting.» I can open and close the windows with ease and they are so easy to clean. This year, before an expected storm, I was checking the windows and noticed a screen was cut. I called for help and the screen was fixed in a day. I have recommended this company to family and friends.

Mario was excellent in his presentation and convinced us to go with Windows. We have scheduled our installation in December so cannot comment on workmanship.

So far I am very pleased with my experience with Windows Hawaii sales aspect and Mario is very knowledgable and presents the products and differences very clearly and does not pressure you too buy. He uses all the resources to explain the value. Kurt followed up right away to come and do the exact measuring part. So I’m happy so far and can update this once the product arrives and are installed.

We had several estimates from different companies and went with Windows Hawaii due to giving several discounts, Military and others, however; due to having to get approval from our Association, lost these. Several people came in to take measurements and had to wait 8 weeks for delivery. The crew came in and had to do a lot of cutting and adding 2×4’s to fit the windows. We are happy with the windows, however; the crew said they had to wait two weeks for caulking to dry in order to paint, they took several hours to paint a small section which I could have finished in 10 minutes. I showed them the paint thinking they would purchase, however; they showed up with no paint and used our old paint. According to the contract, they A/​C was supposed to be placed on the top, however; ended up on the bottom.

We had all of our aging, jalousie windows replaced with Anlin windows. From the thorough explanation and demonstration by Travis to the careful installation by Stan and his crew, we were completely satisfied. Excellent customer service, attitude, workmanship, and follow through. All the new windows are top-​quality, sturdy, and beautiful. Highly recommended.

We installed these windows about 4 years ago and they work very well. The service is really great, and this company (especially Mario) has been a real pleasure to deal with.

Windows Hawaii is working with us to replace a window that we were extremely unhappy with. Because of the fact that they gave us the run-​a-​round before agreeing to replace it at no charge, I gave them a low rating. When the window arrives in 6 – 8 weeks, I’ll update the review. if applicable

Just had 18 Anlin Windows installed and the windows themselves are excellent. Mario, sales, was a pleasure to work with but his estimation of install was off. He estimated three days but actually took five.
Installation crew was very friendly and professional, they showed at 800 but normally finished at 2:00 for the day to make the drive back to Waipahu. Only reason not 5 stars is new drywall seems were not blended in well and had to do my own painting.

We just had our windows done. I love the work they did. It did feel like it took a whlie for them to actually come and start the job, but all in all, everything played out well. I am very pleased at how the windows looked. The two workers were informative and I felt bad seeing that they wanted to hurry up and get out because it was a SAUNA in our neighborhood/​home. Thanks guys for a nice job on our home bedroom windows. Oh we also got our patio doors done not more than 6 months ago. Those patio doors are gorgeous! Thanks!

While trying to get a quote from Windows Hawaii, I ran into a few problems.
Once I voiced these concernes on Unilocal,I almost immediately received a response.
I felt they had a genuine desire to make the situation better. Not just because they didn’t want a bad review, but because they actually cared about making things right.
While we didn’t end up ordering our windows from them, because of the attempts they made to make the situation better, I wouldn’t be opposed to possibly using them in the future.

I had waited 10 yrs to get new, functioning windows, so it was very important for me to get the right choice. I researched different brands of windows available in Hawaii, as well as the reputation of the Window Contractors. I chose Windows Hawaii because they are the main distributers of Anlin Windows, which I found has very good reputation & positive feedbacks. I admit I was a little hesitant in dealing with Windows Hawaii due to a negative Unilocal review I found. I did question them about it & the reviewer did add later that the company’s Manager Mark took care of the problem. From my long experience with renovating homes, I understand that there are always problems that can come up unexpectedly, but I expect the contractor to be willing & ready to correct any problems that may arise (there’s contractors out there that do not take responsibility for errors and does not care to fix the problem unless you pay more)
Some problems did arise later, partly my fault because I made some upgrades to my order. Main problem was that the paperwork revision took some time because the Hawaii office has to communicate with the parent company in CA. I also became a little paranoid due to a later negative review I found while waiting for my windows to arrive. But all in all, Mark and Steve came through for me, they were reassuring and handled my concerns. I found that they are big on customer satisfaction and will do what it takes to make it right for the customer. My installers Larry and JP worked hard & didn’t try to cut corners to save themselves time or effort. They were friendly but respectful. They cleaned up and put away everything neatly everyday before they left each day. They went through everything and answered all my questions on the final day. I love my Anlin windows! I will be using their parent company again for my CA home. Do not let a negative review deter you from using them if that is the only reason you hesitate. Just use common sense, ask questions, get everything neatly in writing before having them order the windows for you & make sure you know what you want (unlike me, who made 2 revisions:) before you have them write it up.

Looks like these guys are working hard to make things better so I’m upgrading them to three stars. It was nice for the General Manager to reach out to my brother to try to rectify the situation. I guess it’s water under the bridge, but my warning for people to read and double check their contracts carefully before signing stands.
Building a house is already frustrating, you don’t need added stress from vendors who make mistakes that cause delays or cost you more money. But it’s nice to know that there are always good guys out there like Mark from Windows Hawaii to try to make things right. I suggest if you go there, you see him directly.
