Fast service. Mexican food is all the same to me anyway. The draft beer I was served was bad.

Always a good meal with the family. Good margueritas too!

Had a margarita with little to no alcohol in it for $ 4.99. They insisted on cleaning the floor right next to where we were eating, giving us the fragance of pine sol to enjoy with our food. Waiter was cold and unfriendly. The meat of my fajitas had either bone or gristle in it. Went due to a coupon. This was unfortunate because they put the tip on the bill without giving you a choice. You need a choice for tip in this restaurant so you can give the waiter the bad tip that is deserved.

Awful food, overpriced and bland. $ 3 guacamole was about 2 ounces, IF that. Taco salad was dry and inedible without the salsa dribbled on the top. Margarita was referenced to tasting like an icee from target. The service was just bad. They forced us to leave by turning off lights and music at 945 even though the sign on the door stated Friday night closing was 1030. Now, I love me some cheap, mediocre Mexican food, I really do. But this place was worse than any place I’ve ever been.

Food was good, service was horrible. I have been to many mexican restraunts from California to N.C. and it’s the first time I have been told they will not make me a chimichanga with chorizo. The reason was the grease of the chorizo? I had to settle for something I did not want. I am a firm believer that the customer should get what they want, after all, I was not looking for something that unusual.

Went to Las Palmas last night for 1st time and will never go back! The fact that there wasn’t a soul in the place at 6pm on a Saturday night should have been a clue to turn around and leave. Even the $ 1 Margaritas were not enough of a bargain to get people to eat here. We were seated immediately and even though there werent any other customers our server seemed annoyed that we were there. Perhaps there was a language issue, but whatever we said to him to promote conversation was met with a blank stare. We ordered some nachos to share and they were brought out on a plate covered in what we believed to be Velveeta cheese! They were tasteless! We had to ask the server for plates to eat them on, and he looked annoyed that we asked. Our main courses were relatively common choices of a quesadilla and a skirt steak entrée. The quesadilla was tasteless and greasy, and the skirt steak was like leather! We were trying to pick out the few items on the plate that were palatable(not the dry rice or teaspoon of guacamole that came on the side) when I noticed a large cockroach walking on the floor next to our table! That was the end for us! We asked for our check, which for some reason listed the items we ordered without any prices. We didn’t get our check total until we went up to counter to pay. Very odd! Don’t even know if the bill was correct… we just paid and ran out of there! We will never return and will definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone we wish to keep as a friend!

Marginal food. Clueless Service. The portions were small. The food was just bland. How do you make Mexican food so bland.

Every once in a while, we venture from our stand-by/old reliable downtown WF mexican restaurant. Usually it is because we run across a coupon and head over to the Factory on Main street to dine at Las Palmas. It is not a regular thing for us since we don’t like to dine with every kid in Wake Forest and anything at The Factory attracts the little ones. Tonight, we dined at Las Palmas and was pleasantly surprised that there were little to no children– Yippee!!! Also a nice surprise was that tonight they had margarita specials! Another yippee! The greatest part of this place is the bar! Our little downtown WF mexican restaurant lacks a great bar so we are always happy to see this one. Las Palmas has a wide range of mexican beers, not just your Corona and Dos Equis but Negro Modelo, Pacifico, Carta Blanco, Tecate, and Sol. The food is pretty good for a chain mexican restaurant. It is not always consistent though. I can get the same dish at different times and the flavor is different. Same for hubs… he said sometimes the dish can be super spicy which he loves, and other times not so much. Perhaps the best part is that they always have coupons. If you go to Valpak online you can usually find one to use and there are usually 3 – 4 different ones to pick from. This always makes the food worth the price, even if it is not so consistent. They send then in the mail a lot too which is when we are reminded to change up our mexican a bit. Service is always great and this place is always immaculately clean! LOVETHAT!!!

I would of given this place one star but I thought it would be too harsh for my first visit. I walk in and get seated rather quickly. The server was very inpatient and wanted my drink order before I even got to sit down. When I told him I need some time to order my meal, he came back just a few seconds later. When I tried to give him my order he didn’t let me explain anything. I got my food pretty fast and it was warm. On the other hand there was no flavor to anything. I had to beg another server to get another soda because I couldn’t find my server. The price wasn’t too high, however, I’m not going to go back. On a side note, it looks like they have great drink specials, so if you want to get drunk go there. I parked in the Factory Outlet parking lot because I didn’t understand their 45 minute parking only.

Don’t eat at this place. I am surprised they have not been shut down. After finding a fly in the salsa the manager just smirked and asked if there was a problem while putting another cup of salsa on the table that most likely came from the same bag. When the manager didn’t even attempt to apologize or rectify the situation we got up and left.

Wow, after reading some of these reviews, I’m wondering if I dined at the same place. Las Palmas has always had good service and good food. I usually only go here at lunch during the week, so I can’t really comment on the dinner rush. This place is very beautiful and fun looking. I love the building. The only thing I find weird is the parking. They have painted in each space that you can only park for 45 minutes. I guess that means you can go out for a few drinks and dinner. I don’t know about everyone else, but when I sit down with friends over drinks and food. I like to take my time and have some fun. Anyway, I’m not sure if the parking lot is under their control or not, so I won’t take off any stars for that. The staff has always been very attentive. We get seated right away and they bring out a bowl of fresh(usually still warm) chips and salsa. The salsa is mild and I prefer mine with a little bit of a bite, but it is still tasty. They will happily bring out extra bowls of chips and/or salsa if you request(with no extra charge). The menu has a lot of choices including seafood, vegetarian and lunch specials. I’ve never had trouble getting in and out during a normal lunch break. As for the food, I must say that Las Palmas has the best tacos I’ve ever had. I had never had authentic tacos before, just the Americanized version with cheese and lettuce. If you have one thing here, try their ‘Carne Asada Taco Dinner’. Every time I’ve had it, it has always tasted so fresh and delicious. I went home the first time and raved about it to my husband. I joked that they didn’t even need to add cheese to it. He looked at me like I was a stranger, because I add cheese to everything. If I could make one recommendation, it would be to add a smaller portion of the dinner as a lunch option. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

Standard mexican restaurant with below average food. The only highlight was that I had a buy one get one free coupon and that made our meal pretty cheap. Had the fajitas and they were made from bad quality steak and veggies were mush.

This place is down right weak. Can’t believe it’s been open this long. Black beans were runny, rice was dry, salsa was horrible.

Las Palmas is your typical Mexican establishment, with nothing too exciting to separate it from the rest. Its a really colorful place, and if you go in before 5pm, it is deader than zombies of Dia de los Muertos! Their beer specials cannot be beat however, $ 2 for any domestic on weekdays before 6pm. Yet, their staff were non-existant. I had to go find the waitress to actually bring me the check and some water. A-OK indeed.

We’ve gone here alot. Meet family there at least twice a month, it’s their favorite. Not ours. Salsa is inconsistent, lacks spice and cilantro! There are some good items but it’s real hit or miss. Queso is OK. Beef tacos are tasteless. Chick chimi’s are good, most the time. Maybe because we spent 11 years in Texas and we know GOODMEXICAN or TexMex, and this is not it. Don’t understand why you can’t get charo beans(pinto beans before they refry them) anywhere in these parts. We eat at Las Palmas, but we feel like we are just settling.

I’m not sure we’ve had a more rushed dining experience ever! Our server was either extremely busy or he was irritated(or both) but it was clear that if there was hesitation on our part when choosing our choice for dinner he wasn’t having it. We expected him at any moment during our dinner to yell at us. The food itself was certainly not enough to have us go back. There are most decidedly better Mexican restaurants in Wake Forest NC. It has been our experience that the food in Mexican restaurants comes out of the kitchen extremely hot and the plates themselves are branding irons. While our food was brought out in «kitchen mitt» gloved hands it was not«hot». It would have been something I would have brought to our servers attention, but again, we were actually afraid of him. At least we can say that we have been to Las Palmas but we won’t be going back and won’t be recommending this to our friends.

Visited Las Palmas about 10 months ago and really liked the place. We strolled back in here last night experienced a bit of a different situation. When we drove up I was not sure if they were open because it looked like all of the lights were off, and the host was outside cleaning the rugs by beating them on the walk way. However, when we got to the door, I noticed they are open til 10PM, since it was only 8PM we were good. We got to the host station and one fellow came up and then the guy came inside from cleaning rugs and picked up our menus(no stop to wash hands in between) and took us to a table. the place was dead, i mean crickets were chirping, quiet and he sat us in the middle of the dining room where someone was working to clean off tables. The server quickly brought out chips and salsa and got our drink orders. We chatted while we waited for our food to arrive and within minutes it was out. Everything we got was hot and had good flavors, and we had no issues there. However, when we were done eating, we had to sit for about 15 minutes while our server continued to clean tables around us and never stopped to check and see if we were done. I hate waiting around after I am done eating, and was ready to hit the pavement. It was just super annoying since we were their only customers. You’d think they’d pay a little more attention? Chips and salsa are good here, but I like a little more interest to my salsa and theirs is pretty one note. Best thing we had was the chile relleno. Stuffed with seasoned beef and smothered with cheese. Anything smothered in cheese is good, right? If you’ve got an evening to wait around for your check, then make sure you go on Friday’s because they were advertising $ 1 margaritas on Friday nights. However, if your time is limited — pick somewhere else to have dinner.
