Two Places to get Café Cubano and BOTH are Under the same roof! Café Cubano Ice Cream(Waffle Cone or Cup)… Or in a Mug(cousin or twin to Cuban style Espresso? ?? I’ll guess since I do NOT speak Coffee and know VERY little about it)! Café Cubano Ice Cream in a Perfekt Waffle Cone! Easily BEATS all, ALL Wake Forest Ice Cream ! ! ! Red Velvet Ice Cream needed some work, so glad they are Creative with the flavors they are making! Keylime Pie Ice Cream was Wonderful!!! My second favorite! Cuban Style Espresso was Perfekt! Comfortable and Cool, Cozy, about three tables inside, two large Picnic Tables outside… Perfekt for making new friends and talking with more local Hero’s!

I FINALLY got into the Ice Cream Cottage recently on a stroll through Wake Forest. I have been in and met the owners before to discuss the local 9⁄11 event: Tunnel to the Towers, but had never actually partaked in the yummy delish ice cream they have so I decided to do so last week. They serve Maple View Ice Cream, which comes from the Maple View farm so it is hormone and antibiotic free and comes from cows in North Carolina. I love local but even better, I love knowing where my dairy came from. I got a chocolate milkshake, my fave ice cream treat, and it was delish!!! Unilocaling this now makes me want to go back. The staff are super friendly, always outgoing, and make you feel like home when you are in the store. The Ice Cream Cottage is currently at the little cottage on Wait Avenue but they told me last week that they will be moving to their new location on White Street very soon. This will be super great as it allows more foot traffic from the downtown folk and easier access. Run, don’t walk, to this place if you are in Wake Forest.
