The massage therapists are nice, but they keep charging our debit card over and over again for months without any receipt of services. We will never patronize this business again and I cannot recommend anyone else either.

The services here are great. The girl who originally would do my facials, Brianna, was amazing but she moved to a different location and I wasn’t impressed with the new girl. That being said, I started getting massages instead. The lady who did my massages was great. She took time to talk about where my problem areas were and I walked out feeling great. My low score for this place is for the management. I brought my husband here, and there was a Unilocal deal where if you checked in you could get a $ 49 massage. The usual front desk lady wasn’t there so one of the ppl who do facials had to check us out. Even though I showed her the Unilocal deal on my phone she said she had to call her manager. That’s fine, she’s not being paid to run the front desk. Well I could hear the manager getting frustrated and abrupt with this poor girl. The manager acted like she didn’t know about the deal. But finally she said just subtract the discount and hung up on her. I signed up for the 12 months of $ 49 treatments where they deduct that amount each month from your bank account. I know what I signed up for. But even I asked if they could forgive the last 2 months because we had to move over an hour away, rather than just saying no, the owner was very rude about it. So I paid the last two months and on the last month they pulled the money 2 weeks early, thus overdrawing my account. I’m not even bothering with talking to the owner about that, but she’ll definitely hear from me that she better not withdraw any more money now that the 12 months is up. I used to love this place(and I still love the services.) But sadly no amount of great services can make up for a rude owner.

I bought a groupon for me and my husband to celebrate our one year anniversary. I called to make the appointment for the couples massages and facials and everything seemed to be running smoothly. They even called the day before to confirm. WELL, we had the 10 a.m. appointment and one of the masseuses had a family emergency(which is fine), but the receptionist did NOT call us to tell us ahead of time– which she had an hour to do, at least. So we drove from Durham all the way to Wake Forest where they asked if one of us could do the treatment and the other to come back later. I reminded her that this was a COUPLES reservation. So, she gave us coupon’s off our NEXT treatment and rescheduled us for a month later. First of all– those coupons mean absolutely nothing. We bought a groupon for a reason. I would’ve preferred to have 15 minute longer massage, etc. Our appointment came and we arrived on time. Here is my feedback on the appointment. 1. The Facial was nice but the esthetician was so chatty that I didn’t have a moment to relax. 2. My husband and I both were left with robes without the ties for changing– which made for awkward asks during undressing. 3. The waiting room for people who have just arrived is the same room that they put people in who have already undressed and are wearing robes. Sitting next to a fully dressed person in a robe is not fun– it’s super awkward. 4. The massages were OK. There was a fan in the room that was super annoying to be laying next to and the masseuse started massaging my legs through the sheet. It was SUPER weird. She also left off my feet and the tops of my pectorals, as well as my hamstrings. VERY annoying. All in all– it was a good deal for what we paid– but i would NEVEREVER pay full price. I’ve also experienced better services elsewhere. I would highly recommend that they retrain their front desk staff, have a separate waiting area for those that are undressed– and work with their masseuses on their services.

Ashley was wonderful with a deep tissue massage. I was very relaxed and she had perfect pressure the entire time while giving the massage. Everyone was really friendly and professional. I will be back!

I love this place. Who knew getting your eyebrows torn out could be relaxing?! I came here for that and then again for a facial. It was amazing. My only complaint was that they don’t offer a 24 hour facial… Lol, but I’ll definitely be back. Brianna is a great person to get a facial from by the way:)

I have had nothing but a great experience with the staff and the ambiance offered at The Skin Spa. I had my first wax here and the aesthetition didn’t quite master the task, so I was able to return for no charge to have it expertly done. Thanks so much girls!

I didn’t like the order of the pedi and facial the last time I came so I called earlier in the day of my appointment and asked if they could be switched. They had me come 30 minutes earlier and I had the facial first as I requested. I also didn’t like that the express facial you did not wear a robe, so I requested this too and they were more than accommodating. That is something I really like about this spa, if you let them know what is not working for you, they go out of their way to customize your treatment so it works for you. I had a excellent facial, very relaxing and great smelling products again. Then I had an excellent pedi with Jenn. I will keep returning to this gem in Wake Forest.

I was really excited to go here. I bought a groupon for a facial and pedicure. The pedicure left a lot to be desired. I almost felt like this was a new service they were offering. They had horrible chairs to sit in that were pretty uncomfortable. I felt like i could not relax. The service was fine but nothing to write home about. I then had a facial, this was my first and I enjoyed it but again nothing spectacular. The thing that really got me was that in order to leave the girls tips you had to either purchase a $ 4 tube of lip balm or a $ 7 bar of soap plus the tip. I almost didn’t leave a tip for this simple fact that they made me purchase their merchandise. But its not the girls fault that they have this policy. Probably will not be returning.

My experience here was OK, but I don’t know if I’d go back again. When I arrived, no one was at the front desk, so I had to wait a bit before the receptionist finally appeared. I arrived 15 minutes early, but ended up waiting 25 minutes before I was called back. I was disappointed because the time loss was never made up during the service. My facial was great and very relaxing. The therapist was very friendly and professional. My massage, however, was a bit disappointing. I requested a Swedish but received a deep tissue. The massage therapist was very talkative(I usually like to relax and not talk while getting a massage). She was also a bit rough. It did not feel like a relaxing environment. She also had very long finger nails, which surprised me – you can imagine the cringe every time her nails dug into my back. This is a fine enough spa, but I don’t think I’d return.

I received a Gift Cert for a prenatal massage for Christmas, and finally scheduled my appt. for this past weekend. The scheduling was easy and they got my in within the week I called. When I arrived, the receptionist welcomed me kindly, and gave me some paperwork to fill out. She escorted me to a small room behind the desk area, which I think is a very nice touch for a small office. The room had 4 comfy chairs, magazines, water, and hot tea. It was a very nice place to sit and get into a relaxing state before a massage. My masseuse came in and introduced herself, and asked me how far along I was in my pregnancy and escorted me back to the massage room. The room was dark and warm and the table was nice and warm with a soft fleece blanket on top of the sheets to cover up with. I wasn’t sure how a prenatal massage would be different than a normal one, but the masseuse went over everything with me putting me at ease(basically you lay on one side for 30 minutes, and switch to the other side for the other 30 minutes instead of laying on your tummy). She made sure I was comfortable with pillows, and nice and covered up. She then went to town. She did a wonderful job and focused on areas that needed more attention because of being 6 months preggo(my hips, my bum, my calves and my feet). The 60 minutes flew by and I basically floated out of there. The receptionist took my gift cert. before the massage so I didn’t have to do anything at check out except accept a bottle of water :) Very relaxing but also extremely beneficially to my achy body.

I have been the owners client for nearly 7 years. I followed her from Iatria to 2 other locations as she built her private business all along. I trust Lisa and the professional way she runs her business and trains her other aestheticians. I go and she does what my akin needs. I always know she will be meticulous and thorough and the condition of my skin will be the better for it. Would never consider going anywhere else for the services she provides. Can’t say enough good things.

I happened upon The Skin Spa after buying an amazingly good deal on groupon for them…$ 75 for a 60 minute deep tissue massage, a facial and an eye brow wax… you can’t pass that up and I’m glad I didn’t. The waiting area is really inviting with dimmed lighting, cozy chairs, hot tea brewed to order, bottled water, a stack of magazines, and a hot towel box. After some paperwork, I was welcomed back to the massage room. Hellooooo heated massage table! Again, dimmed lighting, soft music, warm room… it all seemed so wonderful! The massage therapist was super nice and not a chatty-cathy, which is what you really are looking for when trying to relax, right? The deep tissue massage was great and she made sure to check with me about the pressure and if it was ok. I then moved on to the facial/waxing room. I actually would’ve thought I’d get the facial and brow wax before the massage, but I’m glad it was in the order it was. The aesthetician was super friendly and just the right amount of talkative. The only other facial I remember was when I was a teenager and I remember hating every minute of it! But this was magnificent… relaxing, informative, refreshing, and who knew you got a hand and neck massage with a facial? One quick tip — «like» them on Facebook so you can find out about the specials they’re running. Enjoy!
