This business is closed. The sign is still on the building, but it is now a coffee shop. I believe that the owner retired a few years ago.

Does anyone have any recent info on the Twisted Vine in Wake Forest? The phone # and web site listed aren’t current. Trying to find if they are still open and do they do tastings, etc. Thanks.

Love this place! It has so much character and history. Not to mention the great wine selection and the owner Bob– who knows his wine and is a lots of fun! Easy atmosphere with wine by glass and bottle.

There is just something about this place that soothes my soul. It is not simply a wine shoppe. It is a wonderful gathering place in the heart of down town Wake Forest that offers free wine tastings on Saturday, an owner with an impressive knowledge of wine, and a wide arrange of varieties of wine to complement all palates. The prices are so reasonable, Bob is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the you get the added bonus of supporting local businesses! Don’t bother with any other place! The Twisted Vine is worth the trip!

It doesn’t get any better than Twisted Vine Wine Shoppe. My favorite aspect of this place is the exposed brick and the warm atmosphere. Then of course, the wine, and conversation from Bob, who knows more about wine than anyone I know. Bob can tell you about a wine, then tell you about the vineyard and the year of that specific grape, and then can tell you about the people at the vineyard, telling you the best places to dine while you are there. He is seasoned in wine as he has worked and lived in Sonoma for a number of years. I enjoy the wine conversation from someone who puts a personal touch on it and Bob can do this. Another great aspect of Twisted Vine is that it is in the heart of Wake Forest. Centrally located, you feel that you are a part of something special. You can go in and have a glass and meet other locals or visitors to the downtown area or simply slide in to get a bottle to enjoy at home with dinner. We have often gone in to have a glass before or after dinner or with friends on a Saturday afternoon to Bob’s wine tastings. You can bring a wine and cheese spread with some friends for a great time. Twisted Vine is a true wine and downtown experience. It doesn’t get any better for a wine or life enthusiast.

the wife and I have visited here several times and we love it. Bob is a great host both knowledgeable and entertaining. The selection is limited compared to a big box store but Bob does a great job stocking what people like. You will diffidently find something to take home.

Love, love, love, love, love me some Bob of Twisted Vine! For those of you who haven’t been to Twisted Vine, Bob is the owner and he is straight out of Sonoma, California, and he is a trip. It is worth going to a tasting on Saturdays just to hear his crazy stories. Along with Bob, you will find a charming, second floor shop with a cute little tasting counter and several tables to sit and enjoy some wine(or beer if wine isn’t your thing). One of the best aspects of this shop is the FREE tastings on Saturdays. And let me tell you, Bob knows his stuff. He sets out a tasting sheet for you, and encourages you to take notes, but doesn’t force«wine lingo» on you. Rarely have I(or my friends and husband) had a subpar wine at these tastings. He always picks great choices, and it opens you up to new wines you never would have tried. He also chooses wines that range in price, so you don’t won’t be sad when you taste something you love, but realize it costs $ 50. I think the most expensive wine I have tasted has been $ 25 a bottle. Most are in the $ 12-$ 17 range. I went to a tasting last Saturday with my hubs and my friend who was visiting out of town. We brought a bag with crackers, cheese, grapes and apples, in case we felt like enjoying a bottle after the tasting. We tried 4 wines, all were to my liking, but the reds really stood out– a Malbec and a Cab. We decided to buy a bottle of the Malbec and enjoy it at one of the bar tables that has been made from a wine barrel with our snacks. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Bob got to talking to us, like he often does, and let us know that due to customer requests, he is now changing the Saturday tasting from 12 – 4 to 2 – 6. He gives his customers what they want, and I really love that. He also informed us of Thrifty Thursdays, where every glass(all cost $ 5, and he isn’t a light pourer) and all bottles are a dollar off. Thanks Bob! This is exactly the type of establishment that Downtown Wake Forest needs more of. Makes me happy to live in walking distance of our quant little town.

So so so glad that there is a place doing wine tastings in WF so I don’t have to drive to the vineyards to have a lazy weekend afternoon sipping wine with the wife. The selection is not as large as I would like but the owner will order anything you request as he is able(depends on if the distributors can get it or not). The atmosphere is also great with the exposed brick, wood floors, and simple tasting bar and stools. The owner is very talkative and friendly. There are frequently events(such as ladies social night) happening and various vineyards or distributors often come and host tastings. Will definitely be coming back.

FINALLYWINEINWF! Fabulous little treasure in the heart of down town WF. In love with the hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and great wine selection. Owner will feature different wines at weekend wine tasting sessions from 12 – 4 on Saturdays. Tried a lovely variety this afternoon and picked up four bottles while in the store. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful in offering friendly and genuine assistance. Can’t wait to go back for next week’s tasting!

Twisted Vine just opened up shop in Historic Downtown Wake Forest NC and is a most welcome addition to the area! They have a fantastic selection of wines from Italy, Austrailia Gemany, Portugal, Spain, France, California, local wineries and notable wines from other regions as well! The price range for their wines can and does meet any budget! Frequent wine-tastings allows you to sample wines that you may not have otherwise tried! Check out their website for specific dates and times as they are continually adding to their schedule! I highly recommend stopping by the Twisted Vine and perusing their collection! You never know what you might discover!
