Continuous additions just make Tumbledown better and better! The fresh farm to table food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly and inviting. We frequent the restaurant and can’t wait for their general store and ice cream parlor to open.

I have been here many times and each time is very good. They have huge portions of delicious food. Very fresh, local ingredients and pleasant service. A great addition to Sanbornville!

I live within 5 minutes of this place and have gone about a dozen times since opening. Food and atmosphere are solid 4. Speed of service/food and management are a 2 at best. The bartender/manager has a major attitude! Never welcomes you and is very inattentive and inefficient. Last time there my server asked her to turn on the Sox game. After 3 minutes of trying, she never came back and eventually our server asked us what happened. After waiting 45 minutes to eat we just left and won’t be there again soon. Probably best for take out.

Bullet point review: –Large building with a lots of parking and seating inside –Split into three areas: café, bar and dining –Couch to sit out front –Inside is beautiful: the best looking place I’ve seen in town –Hanging lights surrounded by an enclosure –Picture frames, fishing rods, historic looking paintings, baskets and other decorative items for the country theme –While it’s not a theme I like, I admire the amount of effort they put –A little too patriotic for my taste: part of the constitution is on the front of the menu, American flags on the tables –Country music is bleh –My eyes went wide when I saw the price of the burger: even with what it includes, $ 10.25 is a lot! –From what I saw every meal is over $ 10, most being $ 15 –Pretzels are a unique starting food –Onion rings vey good, crunchy, only slightly greasy and light seasoning –Red roasted potatoes fresh, not much taste though –Carrots and green beans fresh, tasty oil –Teriyaki steak tips were good but I should have gone medium instead of medium well: chewy

This is a great restaurant. The food selection is broad and very good. They recently added pizza to their menu. I tried it and it was VERY good. It seems whatever I’ve tried at Tumbledown has been good. You can get a very nice dinner or a simple appetizer. Their salads are fresh and their beverages are also good. Staff is friendly. There are a few bad reviews on here but if you look at the dates they were made last year after they had just opened. It took a bit to work the bugs out but they did it. I highly recommend. I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Nice addition to the town of Wakefield.

First time visitor in April 2016 even though I’ve summered there for many years, was skeptical based on other reviews but after eating there, I am a new convert and will be back. Much better food than across the street(food wise) in my opinion. Service was prompt, server was great and she really knew the menu options. As we looked over the menu, we got an order of buffalo fingers. Very tasty thin cutlets with honey hot sauce. Wife and daughter got nachos with pulled pork. As the server mentioned, the pulled pork was tender with outstanding flavor. Really large portion as well. I ended up getting steak tips, mashed and broccoli. Was very good and plate went back empty. I will be back for sure. They have booths and high tops along with bar seats. Very comfortable and a great addition to the small town restaurant options. Would have given 5 stars but they didn’t have guiness on tap or in the can.

They did an amazing job with the renovations. Food is good, especially the chicken wheat wrap with fresh avacado, spinach and red peppers. Bartender’s are awesome.

The food was good, the coffee better, the service was not very good. It seemed disorganized and we had one server bring our party of four a fork, then another come back sometime later with a spoon and knife(part of the lack of organization?), three side orders that the server did write down were forgotten and there seemed to be confusion regarding that. The server was apologetic. The bathroom was clean but freezing cold. I’m not sure I’d go back.

I never do reviews, but I kind of had to this time. last night was the third time I’ve been to Tumbledown Café, all in the last 3 weeks. I had one of the specials– broil ed scallops with pasta and sausage. Scallops and sausage? Who’d a thunkit? It was excellent, even today reheated leftovers. And an extra bonus, Jonathan Sarty playing. An excellent evening.

Good good food. Great coffee but $ 60.00 for 4 average to small eaters kinda sucked!!! That didn’t include tip! Waitress forgot bacon side, orange juices, straws, cream and catsup! Would understand better if it was busy but it was EMPTY for what you’d think would be a great after church breakfast place. Really more a town bar. Nice atmosphere though.

Has so much potential but the service is slow. Waitstaff is undertrained. You’ll wait an hour for your food to come out. Go to the tried and true places. The pub and linos…

I wish I could give this place 0 stars after the horrible service we received back in June. We had a friend in town from Ohio, we had never been here but had heard rave reviews of their«famous» loaded drinks, so we decided to take our out of town friend along to experience these with us. We ordered one of each of the three drinks, Margarita, Bloody Mary and Mimosa. We also ordered a plate of fries since it was early afternoon and we hadn’t had breakfast or lunch yet. 25 minutes later, two of the drinks came out and the waitress told us the owner would be out to explain where the other drink was. 10 minutes later, the owner came over and explained that the waffles that were supposed to go with the mimosa had burnt the first time, the second time the breaker had tripped and they didn’t notice so those waffles were only half cooked and they were working on cooking new ones. She offered to take the drink off the bill due to the inconvenience, which was great and then she offered us free dessert, also great. Soon after, the drink came out, still no waffles, meanwhile, the burger and shrimp that came with the Bloody Mary were getting cold because we wanted to wait for all of us to have our drinks before we dug in. Another few minutes passed, we received our fries and a plate of waffles(the waffles were so undercooked they were almost inedible). We had moved our fries aside so we could take pictures of the drinks, the waitress came by and swiped the plate without even asking if we were done with them, we were not! She then came back and asked what we’d like for dessert, we decided to try one of each of the three desserts and then she proceeded to make a snarky remark about how we «made out pretty good just because of some waffles» Not only was that remark totally uncalled for, but it was downright rude! WE are not the ones who cannot cook a damn waffle, WE are not the ones who ASKED for free dessert, we were offered it and we took the owner up on her offer. Now I must say, the fries were the best part of the whole experience and even those were something we could have gotten at McDonalds. The Bloody Mary was horrible, I couldn’t even drink half of it($ 15 wasted), the burger slider that came with it was so dry and the bun was so old and stale it was hard to eat, frankly, I was scared I might break a tooth. The desserts were ok, nothing to write home about, the cookie ice cream sandwich was so over cooked and hard that again, we were afraid of breaking teeth, so we tried breaking into it with a fork, it was like trying to break a brick with a fork. The pudding cake thing that came in a bucket was interesting, definitely pudding made from a box, but the portion was HUGE, the three of us didn’t even put a dent in it. This trip was a bust and although the owner was relatively nice, they need to work on getting some servers in there that aren’t complete jerks who make snarky comments to the customers faces, save it for the back with your server friends. We will never go back here and we’ll make sure we tell everyone about our experience.

Really good food. Service needs a little work but it’s not a lack of effort. Good food. Nice people. Hopefully this place ends up staying open later and is somewhere you can watch the baseball game.

This place is awesome! Soon it will be a full restaurant and bar! My friends and I decided to try this spot earlier this summer and it’s now our go to breakfast place. Food is fresh and there is something for everyone. Yes, wait times can get crazy on the weekends but that is to be expected and we’ve never had a bad experience! They even have these amazing mimosas, bloody mary’s and margaritas. The mimosas come with french toast and fruit on a stick, bloody marys with an egg celery bacon and sausage and the margarita came with nachos and other goodies on the side. There’s fresh cider donuts and selections of meat to take home from their farm. I cant wait for this place to finish renovations so we can go anytime of day next summer.
