Definitely the best Chinese food in the area and the best I’ve had personally. Everything looks and tastes fresh. The owners and staff are all friendly, and it is excellent both for take out and eating in. We get food here a couple times a month and are never disappointed.

Their location may not be ideal, but this place has the BEST Chinese Food I’ve eaten in the Hudson Valley. Hands down. My family has been coming here my entire life and I’ve introduced many friends and family to it who’ve been instantly converted as well. The staff is AMAZING. They are always very hospitable, attentive, and friendly. Their foyer wall is plastered with photos of customers and they seem genuinely excited to see us every time we go. We’ve taken large parties(10+) and never had to wait for a table or wondered when our food was going to arrive. All of the food is super fresh, your water glass will never be more than half empty before it gets refilled, and you’ll leave with enough leftovers to have for lunch the next day– all for a VERY reasonable price. We honestly look for excuses to venture to Walden(of which there are very few) so we can justify eating at Daxxon.

I loved the food. It was too hot for me in the restaurant to eat hot good food though. There was a fly in my soup but I ate half of it(the soup, not the fly) without realizing the black thing wasn’t a peppercorn. It happens, it’s summer. but still eww. They weren’t concerned when I showed them it. The dining room needs better air conditioning & furniture .I’ll stick to their takeout.

Ok, so I went into Daxxon for dinner and I must say, I am NOT impressed. First off, I ordered a drink called«The Zombie» and it tasted basically like juice. When I told my waiter that I did not like it, he told me that it was already made so he couldn’t fix it for me. Okay, no big deal. Next I ordered the Tin Tang steak off of the Chef’s Specials. It was described as a steak topped with chicken, broccoli, onions and a brown sauce. It was vial. It tasted nothing like steak. The taste made me think that it was fried in the same oil as seafood. The waiter did not come to check on us. We had to flag him down to get the check. Just so this review isn’t all negative, I do like the boneless spare ribs that Daxxon serves. All in all, I will not be choosing Daxxon as a dine in spot in the future.

i’m going with four stars based on the average of the three dishes i ordered. the boneless spare ribs were the best i have ever eaten. so they garner six or seven stars on their own. hands down. — no mystery pink hued meat. just fantastic, i will order them every time. the pork lo mein was good. it didn’t knock my socks off like the spare ribs but it did not disappoint in the least.. which is a nice segue into the saddest part of my order; the crab rangoon. the crab/cream cheese quasi ravioli were greasier than normal and they had a bit too much dough for my likes. i won’t ever order them again. all in all i was very happy to find a quality sit down chinese food restaurant in my new town. ~$ 25 for the meal.

Good is pretty good. Drove 20 mins to get it bc it beats the place take out place in town. Beef with snow peas is yummy. Egg rolls rock! Alcoholic drinks are hit or miss. The zombies especially. I heard the owners are relatives to the Chinese place in Middletown. Formerly the Hawaii Fountain, now known as the YouYou. I expected better in regards to that. Overall they make some pretty dang good food. =)

Good Chinese takeout. The food has good flavor and it’s not overly greasy. I was a little disappointed with the boneless spare ribs since they weren’t as flavorful and tender as I’d hoped for but they were ok overall. Pretty good wonton soup and the broth was pretty decent too. I’d say 3.5 stars. The people are pretty nice but it’s not on the inexpensive side of Chinese food either.

As far as chinese restaurants go this one is right on top. Always clean, always friendly. Food is consistent and prices are average for chinese in the area. Dine-in combos are a bargain with soup and dessert included.

After recently moving to Walden, it’s been hard to find decent food options. I decided to give Daxxon a try after the numerous good reviews, only to be very disappointed. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken, crab rangoons, and a pint of veggie lo mein. My chicken was actually very good. The pork fried rice that came with it, actually tasted rancid. I had a few more bites to make sure, and I felt like I was going to be sick. The rangoons were obviously previously frozen. The lo mein, while tasting okay, was über greasy and at this point I just didn’t want any more of my food. Which was a shame because I paid about $ 25 for all of the above. I will never go here again.

This fine restaurant is an old friend. Over many years of frequenting this establishment, I have NEVER been disappointed. The service is always competent and friendly, and the menu selection is vast. Some of my favorites are the beef with broccoli, moo goo gai pan, and shrimp with broccoli in brown garlic sauce. Whatever I get is enjoyable. Take out is also superior. Orders are accurate, hot, and fresh tasting. Portions are beyond generous. Their secret weapon is Betty, the hostess. She is always cheerful, welcoming, and concerned that your experience here is a success. Overall grade. A+

Ok, so heres the dish. The lo mein has gone downhill along with all the other regular«to go» items(re: chicken and broccoli, general tsao’s, sesame chicken, crab rangoon… etc.). However, the lesser known entrees such as Ho Fun, mei fun, chow mein and the ZOMBIE cocktail are sure to entertain your taste buds. I know this family so perhaps I’m a bit biased, but my bff and I skipped economics more often than we went to have lunch here or sat for hours at a time being entertained by the wily staff and Betty telling us stories about the restaurants beginnings. Eat in and get to know the staff, they’ll tell you what’s best from the chef and hand you a pair of chopsticks. It’s really a great restaurant, especially if you live in the area(few and far between), so don’t dismiss it as just another cheap chinese take out.

There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area but this one is the best. They might be slightly more expensive but they are excellent and you will not be sorry. I do more take out so I am unsure of their customer service when you dine there but as for the take out they are very courteous.

I have grown up on Daxxon. Food used to be amazing, nowadays it seems to be a hit and miss, we think certain days they change cooks and that could be the reason. Despite that, service is friendly, they always ask the regulars about life and whats new. And food is still good. My favorite thing to order: Scallion pancakes… try it out!

Went here with some friends this week and got to try some new things(spice of life). Shrimp toast, wonton soup, scallion pancake, hot and sour soup, crab Rangoon, tso chicken, everything fried rice. Shrimp toast was new to me, tasty but I don’t love shrimp so. The scallion pancake was a bit doughy but still tasty nonetheless. Wonton soup was light in flavor but good. Im not a fan of hot and sour soup but tried it anyway, still not. :) Crab rangoon surprised me, it was tasty and cheesy, hmm. Tso Chicken was really good, I recommend it.(It is not something I usually order, but this was good). The Everything fried rice: shrimp, pork, chicken was tasty, I only ate the chicken, but the overall flavor was quite enjoyable. The Pistachio ice cream was yummy! The staff was friendly. If you’re in the area, worth a taste :)

I live near walden and have been going here for years. The owners always greet us at the door and exclaim how they haven’t see us in years! I like the cleanliness of the restaurant and the fact that the service is always incredibly efficient. If you have to get in and out quickly, this is your place. I usually get the sub gum war bar and its great! Any of the combinations are great and the prices are very low. In this day of $ 5 beers at restaurants, this place has very reasonable alcohol prices as well. Try their healthy menu as well, the food is still tasty without all the msg and other bad stuff. The best part about Daxxon is that the owners are always on the premises. I think this translates to good service and good food.

What can I say… This is a greasy Chinese take-out in a small town with an attached dining room. The food isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. If you’re looking for authentic cuisine, this isn’t it. The food here is Americanized Chinese food, and certainly not aimed at Chinese-American clientele. They’ve got standard take-out fare like General Tso’s chicken(spelled«Tao’s» here) and it’s done pretty well. I was excited to see scallion pancakes on the menu, but I thought they were a bit tough and too thick. Also not enough scallions. The Hot and Sour Soup was good, but not spectacular. The shrimp toast was tasty, but I found their eggrolls to be greasy and a bit too chewy. Overall not bad, but not my cup of tea either.

This Chinese restaurant is a nice change of pace for the area. The food is a couple notches above takeout and they have proper pupu platters. The exotic drinks are hit or miss. There is no bartender, so the drink is made by whomever. It could be the host, or even your waitress. Service is pleasant and friendly.
