Went here for lunch and had the beef chimichanga. It was very good, everything tasted fresh and was cooked well. It is an old run down building but the food was great and the service was good. If I’m in Waldo for lunch again I would go here.

Decent place. It’s a simple Mexican-American restaurant, maybe 15 booths/tables and a small bar. However the service is fast and polite, the food is good and the menu is large. I knocked off a star because everything is really casual and a little run-down. Also the«abandoned gas station» type bathrooms. But it’s right on the road and if you want good Mexican food El Molino will provide. Edit: Forgot to include price, which was very reasonable. Atmosphere was upbeat and casual.

The Best Chimichangas I’ve ever had and I’ve tried them everywhere. The dough is light and crispy the way it should be. I get the chicken ones with rice and beans for less then 10 dollars, serves two people. The food is homemade everyday by the owner with love that you can taste. It is actually family owned and worked. It is a must stop and tell your friends. Eat in or take it to go.

We were driving through Waldo and do not normally stop since Waldo used to be a notorious speed trap. I was craving Mexican food. We were pleasantly surprised by the prompt service and delicious food. It is a simple restaurant with simply good food plus the owners/wait staff were welcoming. The salsa and chips were really good. So good we ate it all… Typically we eat a few then stop but not here. I ordered the #13 which consisted of two enchiladas, rice, and beans. My partner ordered the plate of four enchiladas. According to him it was really really good. I was amazed how huge the cups for water are. Very smart and highly efficient. No waiting for someone to refill your water. Never saw that before. Will I stop by again? I sure will when I am driving in the area. Gringos and gringas will find this place welcoming. The food is worth it. I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my huevos rancheros to the very last bite, so having a horrifically disgusting restroom experience really hurt me on the inside. I thought us Hispanic folks were known for their powers of cleaning and sprucing truly shitty things up a bit? I’m not sure if anyone here actually spoke Spanish,(they did not to me when I spoke it to them) but the meal, the salsa, and the menu looked authentic, so at the very least I’d have to suggest a ladies touch because the décor is damned, and a proper bleach scrubbing never hurt anyone either.

This place changed hands and names in 2008, from what the server told me. It was called El Patio. For those of you who do not know, Waldo sits on U.S. 301 somewhat near Gainesville, north of Ocala. It’s a sleepy produce sort of town with not a whole lot to offer. Normally, I would just roll right past a place like Waldo, but hungry prevailed. La Chica and I saw El Molino and decided to give it a shot. She ordered the JUEVORANCHEROS, and I the CARNEASADA, which came with small guacamole side salad and 4 flour tortillas. All of it was very good, especially the salad. In fact, the salad might have made the meal for me. The tomatoes and guacamole were just incredibly fresh and flavorful. The carne asada itself was good, but not the best I’d ever had for sure. Not even close. The rice and beans were up there though with some of the best I’d had before, so all in all it was a great meal. I’d go 4 stars, but I had a horrific experience in the bathroom. I heard the women’s side was safe, so I figured I’d hit up the men’s before resuming travel to Jasonville. I can’t really explain what went wrong in there, but it appeared that someone had whipped fecal matter all over the floor with hand towels, and then threw the hand towels in the waste basket, as opposed to flushing them. So between the smell of the smeared feces on the floor, and the hand towels stewing in the trash, it was quite smelly. I can only hope it was recent and they just didn’t know, and that if they had knowledge of it, they would have cleaned it up immediately.
