Good price for what you get. Paid $ 75 for Cottage #5 and was pleasantly surprised with the ocean view from our room. It is important to know that all communication is done through e-mail, there is no check-in at a front desk. This can be confusing for first time visitors. The room was pretty warm upon arrival, but we opened up the windows for some fresh air. A nice short walk down to the private beach where you can watch the sunset in the evenings. Not too much to do around town… everything closes very early!

Location, location, location. The other reviewers are right that these cottages may have seen better days but the view, the privacy, and the wood burning fireplace more than make up for a little wear and tear. It’s true there is no on site manager and the«no vacancy» sign was on during our whole stay, so be sure to call first to make arrangents to get your key and pay for the unit. But the price can’t be beat and they’re open off season. We had the place to ourselves and it was awesome.

We were here at Cape Cod Cottages and it is not at all what it used to be. If you have stayed here in the past you know it was charming and friendly. Now, the property is under new ownership and their style is to do all contact on line and then never have direct contact with the guests. There is a sign on the office that they will«Return at 11» but in fact the office is never staffed. Other signs advise that beach towels and beach blankets are available at the office, but again, nobody there. In a vacation rental that might be expected but if you’re staying at a commercial lodging property providing absolutely no services to your guests. Talked with several other guests on the beach during our stay and we all had the same reaction … Where did the quality go? Now the location is still great and the cabins rustic, but already the place is in need of a resident manager to keep up with maintenance issues. Big change from the past. We are going to have to find a new place to stay, and that’s a shame for all of us.

Cape Cod Cottages are great vacation rental type units on a beautiful stretch of beach. Our unit(and most of the others, I believe) had a full kitchen, as well as a bedroom. Plenty of space to relax, and great beach access.

This place is cheap & rustic, a great place to stay. I’ve had many quiet, romantic weekends here with the hubby. By rustic, I mean it was built decades and decades ago and things pretty much look the same — you’ll have some knotty pine on the walls, older funitures, a brick fireplace, and in most units, a deck where you’ll experience some amazing views of the ocean. Situated on Stump Beach just south of Waldport, it feels like there is no one around. Go for a walk on the beach and you’ll likely be the only ones on the sand. It is peaceful here and just the kind of place I like to escape to on the Oregon Coast. A one-bedroom unit will run you $ 125 in the high season and $ 90 on an off-season weekend. There is one thing I don’t like about this place, though. The management tells you/warns you about the financial consequences if you break any of their rules. There’s a sign in the ktichen informing you of the price if you cook crab indoors and a notice on the microwave telling that you’ll be buying them a new one if you burn popcorn in it. On the phone, they hassle you repeatedly, saying you’ll be charged $ 200 if anyone smokes anywhere on the property — even after you tell them that no one in the party smokes. I just don’t like to be preemptively scolded when I’m on vacation.

We got lucky having never been here before, and selected Cottage #1. Good wi-fi coverage, excellent ocean view, and very nice kitchen, wood stove and large living room. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the cottage was very clean! We will definitely come back. The view from our cottage was exceptional, and the provided Adirondack chairs on the balcony were just right for watching the ocean and beachcombers, and using our iPads. The location is just south of Waldport, so it doesn’t take but a few minutes to get to groceries, fuel and other conveniences. With our iPhones we have AT&T, and we had great reception here.

Charming, quaint, great view of the beach but up the hill and tucked away in lush landscaping. If it matters to you, you should arrange to be in a unit within range of the wifi router(mine wasn’t – I was also in a dead zone for Verizon, which ended about 10 feet from my room!). I’m going to post a bunch of pics so you can judge for yourself.

This is a fantastic property located on the beach 1.5 miles south of Waldport, Oregon. The cabins are old(they’ve been around since the 1938) and the interiors are dated(they’ve been around since. oh, the 1970s). The reasonable prices reflect the agedness of the property, but not the amenities, the view/location, or the friendly helpfulness of the front desk, so it’s quite a value. Here’s a write-up from an Oregonian traveller from 2007 giving more background: The most popular rooms are #11 and #1. Both are large(900‑1000 sq ft) one-bedroom units with perfect views of the ocean. They both have full-sized kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms with wood-burning stoves and cable television. Most people like #11 better because it’s closest to the water and has an unrestricted view; we ended up liking #1 better because it has a better laid-out kitchen and is generally more comfortable.
