Would love to be able to review the food, but service was so horrible we left after sitting at the table for 15 minutes without the waitress ever taking our order. When she began taking the orders of people who arrived after us, we left and headed north to Newport where we were greeted by friendly faces, prompt service and the most delicious meal.

Simply outstanding! The food was the best we’ve had this entire week long trip on the coast. Courtney is awesome and very knowledgeable about local non touristy fun things to do. The world needs more people like her for sure. My family and I will be back for sure! Get the local Dungeness crab, it’s superb!

Breakfast wrap was good, American was good, service was pleasant. By far favorite place in this little town! Very nice atmosphere.

Stopped by while cruising the 101 for a quick lunch. This place is a little gem! The menu has lots to offer. I think the big hit from our table was the crab melt but everything was delicious(with big portions). It sounds like they get busy on the weekends with live music so they recommend making reservations.

Easy location right off the highway, really cute and contemporary on the inside. Great food with generous portions and friendly staff! Can’t go wrong here.

So disappointed, after hearing great things. Monte Cristo sandwich had odd berry relish and Dijon. I asked for them on the side. Only got mustard on the side, requested new sandwich and the waitress pulled out her order book to argue with me over whether I said on the side. The Cole slaw had such an odd flavor, not in a good way. The chefs were working really hard and were friendly. The waitress not so much.

The positive: the reuben was a five star sandwich. Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The negative: I couldn’t have breakfast a little after 11 even though there were no orders on the grill. I paid with a credit card and the slip asked for a tip. Not knowing the kind of restaurant, I gave one. The person taking my order delivered my order. I had to serve myself coffee, water, and all utensils plus bus my own table. The coleslaw was uneatable. I might actually eat here again but I certainly won’t tip.

I had the jalapeño omelet — they were fresh not canned which was nice but a few too many even for a jalapeño lover. The veggie eggs Benedict was good, holladaise sauce could be a bit more«tangy». The potatoes were very tasty. It’s a self serve venue — only the pesky fly wouldn’t leave us alone!

One thing about Unilocal reviews is you don’t know the age of the reviewer. Are they 18 or 80 or somewhere in between. I am in my 60’s. My wife ate breakfast here about a week after they opened. She likes crepes and had ordered that. She said they weren’t very good. She had heard that they had a different chef now and we decided to try it again. She ordered the Breakfast Crepes $ 11.00. You get three crepes. She said the crêpe itself tasted like it was made from a watered down buckwheat pancake mix not a true crêpe mix. Their«house ricotta» she said tasted like regular ricotta, no sweetness to the cheese. The topping was a berry compote. She said she would not order it again. I ordered the dungeness crab benedict. It came with their version of cottage fries. They offer no hash browns or fruit substitute. The benedict starts with a ½ English Muffin, a thick slice of tomato, the dungeness crab, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The amount of crab was adequate but not a huge amount. Like others have noted you order from the menu at the counter and pay for the meal at that time. A waitstaff then brings the meals to your table. You get your own water and silverware. I am sorry but I don’t think the Bistro is anything special and it’s definitely not the best restaurant on the Coast.

OMG the Fusion Burger is soooo good!!! Cooked perfect with house made kimchi is showtime!!! You can tell they’re using good beef and not over-smashing/working the parties because the texture is perfect. Wife had the Hilltop Blue burger and she raved as well. Overall top notch establishment with great customer service and awesome food. The owner came out and served our family of 6 fresh chocolate cake – Just because… I will be back at least 2 times more in the next week while here for Spring Break. I’m super satisfied.

At Oregon Coast camping in Waldport KOA. Had breakfast here at the Hilltop Café, very large portions and quite tasty: Breakfast sandwich and French toast was amazing.

We have been here twice now during our holiday coast trips and we absolutely love it! The coffee, food, employees and establishment are all wonderful! We would highly recommend this place to everyone and anyone searching for a fantastic home made meal. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients!!! YUM!

Whoa. What a hill top treat! Im so glad that we found this place mid road trip. You know that when parking is a pain and a place is packed that it is GOOOOOD. If we find ourselves in the area again, we might go out of our way to give this place another go!

Fantastic meal. I had the ahi tataki and it was to die for. I also had the Dungeness crab Caesar salad and it was pretty good but not a filling dinner which was my bad ordering it for dinner, it would have made a perfect lunch. My family ordered the steamer«clammers», the flat iron steak with red pepper pesto and the cordon blue. All was delicious. We had iced tea with our meal and it was really refreshing, not a huge deal but it’s nice when a restaurant gets the small details right. My boyfriend had two of the beers they had on tap one of which was nitro and have the silliest texture. Our server was lovely and very friendly. We will be back!

The reviews led me to believe the food here was going to be out-of-this-world good; one even said it was the best food on the Oregon Coast(seriously!?). But as much as I wanted to like this place — solid, locally-owned businesses are hard to come by — and as much as I hate giving less than 4 – 5 * reviews, I am sad to say I wasn’t impressed on our June 2015 visit. My husband and I split an omelet and an order of berry crepes, with a sugar-free vanilla latte to drink. The latte had a burnt taste, prompting me to ask for some extra flavoring to try and mask it(which didn’t work, btw, just ended up subbing the burnt for a chemical aftertaste). The omelet was ok: not great, not horrendous, just ok. Plenty of shrooms but lacking something. The cottage fries were also(just) ok, and the sourdough bread was fine, but neither were the magical dishes others seemed to have partaken in. The crepes were the best part, IMO, with a nice texture to the dough and a tasty but not overpowering filling. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the portions appropriate for the price. The overall flavors, however, left something to be desired. We’ll probably be back, but not likely for breakfast.

Excellent food and friendly staff. My husband and I split a kettle chip crusted burger and the French dip and both were really good. We also had the cobbler. Yum. My daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were a little chewy but that’s my only gripe.

Wonderful little spot right off the highway. We found it on Unilocal. The wife and I both had the Jalapeño Omelets and the were huge… Like 4 – 5 egg omelets. Fresh jalapeños, home fries and sourdough toast. My coffee was luke warm from the carafe, but the young lady offered to make me a fresh americano and it was perfect. Great stop on your journey.

We had a delicious lunch upon learning nowhere in Waldport serves breakfast after 11:30am on a Sunday(odd). We had a large group of 9(4 adults, 3 teens and 2 kids) and were able to grab 2 picnic tables outside that were pushed together to easily accommodate our group. The coffee was great however we ordered a side of almond milk for our drip and it was chunky. My daughter had hot chocolate and she loved it! I had a soy cappuccino that was good although I prefer more foam and they did not have raw sugar which is just my preference. They do not have a kids menu so if you have small children this may not be a good spot for you. Our 9 year old ordered a 1/3lb cheeseburger with chips and that was perfect for her and our friends 10 year old ordered a ½ portion of a chicken caesar salad. We ordered a crab cake sandwich, the club, philly wrap, cheese burger and chicken caesar wrap and truly everything was tasty. Would not recommend the kombutcha however, very strong and vinegar-y. Things to note: seat yourself, order at the counter and they will bring it to your table, bus your own table and service was great!

I’ve been here for lunch and breakfast with young kids. The food was great both times. Portions are good sized and the prices are good. Come hungry. The have an espresso machine and the coffee was good. Everything is or feels homemade like I would make at home. Nice big slices of sourdough for toast and French toast. Handmade whipped cream. The menu has some decent veggie options too. The kid options for breakfast are mostly sides, and they don’t have pancakes. But they loved the French toast and blueberries that came with them. Nice big slices of bacon too. It’s been a month since we had lunch here but I remember the grilled cheese had the big thick bread slices which I loved but the young ones had some trouble with it. But they are some so it must have tasted good to them. Inside it has a nice relaxing feel. Rustic modern maybe. Free wifi too. Service is friendly and they try hard to get things right and get things out fast. They might miss a couple things because it’s a new place but they will make things right so that’s fine with me. Two great experiences so far so we will definitely be coming back!
