I clearly missed something here. #1 of things to do on Trip Advisor, say no more, we are checking it out. It’s a candy store which is fine by me, in fact, I have quite a sweet tooth and hate to pass up an opportunity to indulge in locale fare. Lots of locally made confections although there were quite a few that had signs that read«will be more Friday», or something like that. Meaning, out of stock until Friday. We were there on a Wednesday, so out of luck. The remainder of the candy, things like salt water taffy and old-school type candies made up the balance of their inventory. There were a few touristy type items to buy as well. The guy behind the counter seemed very nice. Ultimately this was a disappointment, not sure what I expected, I guess just a little more life to the place. Plus the lack of inventory made it hard to get a real feel for the place. I would downgrade it on the things to do in Waldport.

This is a fun store with a lot of different treats for sale, along with some appealing jewelry and gift items. Everything looked fresh, from yummy chocolates to all kinds of taffy. The woman working there was quite friendly without being obsequious, and she seemed well-informed about the stock. There is a very small selection of sugar-free items, and some candy flavored with various«edible» bugs.

Neat little shop! Everything is reasonably priced and the owners are so nice! There is something for everyone here: candy, ice cream, jewelry, interesting trinkets, etc.

The Chocolate Frog has a wide variety of candies, chocolates, fudges, etc and everything we got was both reasonably priced and really delicious. The people helping our group were definitely helpful and friendly and, frankly, I can’t wait to get more fudge and another almond toffee bar!

I am very late in rating this sweet spot. I was traveling through Waldport in May and stopped here for gifts for folks back home in KY. The owners were delightful, the selection good, and the prices fair. They even recommended another business to help me find what I needed. I endulged in some of their homemade peanut butter and chocolate treats. Great place to browse and feel at home when you’re far away.

Took a chance since Unilocal said they were closed today. They said they’ve been open 7 days a week since they opened in July. I had dark chocolate seafoam and dark chocolate salted caramel; hubby had dark chocolate peanut cluster. All excellent!

My daughter lives in Waldport and I stopped in to check out the candy. Wow !! Candy that is fresh like the Taffy… things you just can’t buy at Walmart people. These folks want to give back to the rain forest program, they want to join in the community to make it a better place. I Love the candy, the owners and what they stand for. I traveled from Medford to see this shop, I would travel if I lived in Florence. or Newport, because you can’t get the chocolates the Chocolate frog has any place I know of.

Delightful candy and gift shop conveniently located on Hiway 101 in Waldport OR. Plenty of parking front and side. A large collection of ‘Nostalgic’ candy, salt water taffy, and locally made(and delish) confections and treats. Also lots of unique gift ideas, plus a small area offering jewelry. Well rounded shop, fun to browse, friendly proprietor lady!

Great candy store! They have a wonderful assortment of candies. Their salt water taffy is vey tasty and not overly artificial sweet. The owners are more than happy to give you all the ins and out of their candy. My husband got addicted to their soft chili-mango popcorn! :-) Their chocolate covered salted caramels are to die for! Large and chewy with a great amount of chocolate. Because I have the Dutch nationality we discussed licorice, the only thing the did not have a great variety in, yet! We Dutch have a gazillion different licorice of course from soft to hard and from super sweet to double or even triple salted. They were happy to learn more about our licorice culture and are now planning on enlarging their licorice assortment. If you have a chance be sure to check the store out at the corner of the 34.
