We live a few miles away, in Yachats, and have watched this place go through many changes over the years, but now the current operators are really doing a great job. The food is fresh and artfully prepared, and everything we’ve ordered in several visits has been delicious and very reasonably priced. The service is great, the view of Alsea Bay is stunning from the lounge as well as the main dining area, and while I’m at it, I should mention the drinks are excellent as well! The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is there is a little trick to finding it in the midst of the Bayshore development, which is probably why they aren’t packed to the gills every night. As much as I’d like to keep this place our little«locals secret», however, they deserve more folks making that turn at the convenience store just north of the Waldport Bridge and following the main road down to the bottom of the hill. It really isn’t that hard to find! So consider this a five star review after all!

I will not go again. The food was not coked correctly, the manager unsold drinks, then cut us off after two drinks even though we were not intoxicated and also staying at the hotel. She was rude, and unprofessional. This is by no means a place for a enjoyable weekend. There was no attempted to replace the food and they overcharged us. All around bad experience.

Really fabulous staff, food and ambiance. I live in the neighborhood and am now a frequent. My favorites are the butternut squash soup, Mediterranean flatbread and the fish and chips. Great wine options.

They have a huge menu hanging up on the wall by the hostess podium. Really good looking, diverse items, and a good-sized kids menu. We were enjoying looking at it planning on what we wanted to try… and one of the hostesses comes up and is like«hiiiii, um so here is our revised menu for this evening…» while handing us a single sheet of paper. What a joke that was. We’re talking maybe 4 apetizers and entre choices, 2 kids menu items, NO dessert. Condensed from a completely filled 4-page menu… and on a Friday night? I don’t know their reasoning behind this«revised» menu but needless to say we turned right around and headed up to Newport.

We came in and didn’t know if it was open. The waitresses are very young and kinda confused and wandering around with out a clear purpose. We over heard that the oven was now fixed but they weren’t able to serve pasta? No big deal, we order the special off of a printed sheet of paper only to have the waitress come out and say that it wasn’t available. We ordered the fish and chips because we were so far from everything else. Don’t let the other reviews deceive you we made a special trip out here for no reason. Fish was frozen and out of a box while you are literally over looking the ocean

We stayed at a rental just down the street & we were delighted to find a place that has veggie options & quality food within walking difference. The Casear salad was great & the pasta was good but I would describe the Creamy Pesto as more of a pesto-y Alfredo. Still really good tho & the staff was friendly & the view was beautiful. However, what I’ll be craving from time to time & what will ultimately bring me back here someday is the Bananas Foster! While I could have eaten my own, the portion was perfect for sharing.

We have eaten here several times now. Unfortunately because of location a mile away from the highway /commercial area the Waves Restaurant does not get the guest traffic it deserves. Food is tasty, the presentation is excellent, and I would really recommend this place. The only drawback would be that because there have been no(or very few) other guests dining, the service is very friendly but a touch erratic. Pretty common when business is very slow. Because we like this place and want to support local options we try to stop in once every couple of weeks. You should give it a try.

Very good food, large portions(split kids meals between kids they are adult size). Prices are below the quality of the food. Service is very good and the view is pretty good as well. The dining room is fairly small but was not an issue on the Saturday night we were there.

Ate here 2 times within the last 4 months while we have gone to Waldport looking for real estate. The food has been amazing. The seafood fettichini is to die for. Absolutely delicious ! The kids pizzas are the size of a small«normal» pizza so the kids always have left overs. The service is friendly and the cook is very accommodating. This has become our favorite place to eat at in Waldport.

Need better advertising and signage. Good foundation but needs work on the little things. Great views. Fantastic service. Rachel was the only one working and she was an awesome hostess, server, buser, and bartender. Food was above average. Steak was a little overcooked; asked for rare, but great flavor. Full bar with very reasonably priced drinks. Rachel made my wife’s dirty martini perfect.

Visiting from California and stumbled upon this restaurant while staying in Waldport. It’s tucked away and you wouldn’t even know it was there, but so happy we found it! We had the creamy pesto pasta, fish and chips and tempura shrimp with waffle fries! We left full and satisfied… only suggestion is to better advertise their delicious fries(the waffle fries were good, but their regular fries were anything but regular)!
