Went here for lunch on a Saturday and was really under-whelmed with my experience. We were the only patrons in the restaurant on a really nice Saturday and I was kind of surprised. I had heard rave reviews about the quality of diner type items, yet I really didn’t see anything on the menu that looked that great. I ended up getting chicken tenders and fries. There was no specific lunch menu, so I assumed it was just the regular menu. I got 3 small tenders and a small pile of fries. I thought that was a little small on the portion size. My dad ordered a steak sandwich and on the menu it says that it comes with all these toppings. When they brought out his order she asked if he had wanted any toppings and he stated he just wanted what the menu said it had. She argued with him that if he didn’t tell her he wanted that, then she didn’t know. However, like I mentioned, it says it comes with it on the menu. She then began complaining about the way things are written on the menu. She was an older woman and just seemed very unhappy to be there. Again, being the only people there, you’d think our food would be pretty quick. Took about 25 minutes for our order. I’m used to small places. I grew up in Shelbyville. But I’m not accustomed to the poor service we received. I will probably never go back, and I’m really not sure why it has such good reviews on here. Seems like I went to a different place than everyone else.

The Waldron Restaurant catered my wedding and did an excellent job! I can’t say enough about the quality of food for the reasonable price. I had pulled pork, fried chicken, and roast beef with mashed potatoes, beans, salad, corn, AND they provided the cupcakes– which I wish I could have eaten more of. I also go to the restaurant regularly and enjoy all of their home cooked food. Great people, great food, great service.

Waldron Restaurant catered the deserts for a Texas-Indiana party. The Texas Sheet Cake and Sugar Cream Pie were spectacular, far better and more reasonably priced than any«gourmet» bakery in Indianapolis. It was the hit of the party.

WOW, this lil hole in the wall, tiny town restaurant is awesome! See my photo of the 32 ounce, 4 patty bbq bacon cheeseburger, $ 12.95. Add fries or other sides for only $ 1.50, and slices of homemade blueberry pie ala mode and coconut cream pie. YUM! The single 8 oz burger was only $ 4.50. Prices are all low to average as expected for this type diner. They also have Sunday buffet, and fried chicken, steaks, ribs, and daily specials. How did Waldron get so lucky to have a hometown eatery like this? The mom-n-pop place was clean, well kept, provided good service, and great tasting home made food, and the owner /operators were enjoyable to talk too. It was as expected for décor for a place like this. I will have to go back very soon and try many more of their menu items. Great place for a very nice meal at a great price.
